How many memories!! This is my childhood! Thanks!
Mine too!
That era when wondering across the catalogue was as exciting as building a model itself…
Thank you @MarcCelisKuss for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.
thanks for sharing, remember me my first modeller step, mtachbox was famous for beautiful box art from Roy.... first box at 6/7, was panzer II 1/76, remember the skull in the sand to finish model...more have follows after under my fingers, sometimes sharing big "carpet" battles ! little scale 1/72 + 1/76 was perfect for big theater impressions with planes and vehicles, special dedicace for 1/76 military dioramas includes in each box, so strinking and well artisticly done, each was different...Thank Fellow take care ; )

Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
Thank you! You too!
That brought back some great memories! The 1/72 Beaufighter was probably the first British aircraft I built. I remember the fantastic box art very well.
I truly miss the days when a kid could afford to build models on their weekly allowance or newspaper route earnings.
Glad it brought back cool memories

I can remember these kits and at the time I did purchase some some soldiers and many years later I purchased a Flower Class Corvette and it still had the Matchbox logo inside, great video, thankyou from Wairoa in New Zealand
thanks for watching.. please feel free to subscribe and watch my other videos
Mos, cheers for rekindling great memories of Bundoran, Co Donegal in 1982 getting the A20 Havoc and P 40 fighter! for my 12th birthday! Very similar to Airfix and the great Roy Cross. Great all round. Ps the music both the title and the one played during the catalog review adds to that sense of privacy and a quiet time to remember!
Appreciate that :) I try to match the music with the catalogue
Yum. Thanks again. Catching up on your vids this weekend. 😉
Hope you enjoy
The yellow Caterpillar bulldozer kit (7:13) is a great kit. There aren't many construction vehicles made by toy model companies, for some reason.
I've never seen it for sale anywhere that kit..
Got most of the 1/72 aircraft unbuilt in the loft. A few of the AFV kits too as well as the ELF Tyrell F1 car and the 1/72 Corvette. And the 1/32 Spitfire, Tiger Moth and Puma.
Really should get building them.
Currently got a Matchbox Hawk T1, Lysander and Jagdpanther in build. Got that Catalogue up there too.
The Lightning you showed was the T55 version, the one in the catalogue was the F2a/F6 kit. The molds were altered to make the trainer.
I still have a lightning in the stash im desperate to get around to build :)
Those Matchbox armoured vehicle kits diorama bases are not cheapo "vacuum formed" but quality injection moulded hard plastic. Superb value I always thought at the time and still do for that matter.
Thanks for the info! I do have a few matchboxs in the stash.. ill have another look at the dioramas
Se catalogue me rappelle tant de souvenirs merci pour se beaux moments vidéo

Some cool cars in there buddy
Yes there are !!
I had the AMT Bulldozer as a kid in the 70s. Really great kit, good detail and one of the first tracked models of any type that had individual articulated track links. Unfortunately they stopped selling the kit in the US sometime in the 80s. Although I think they did re-released it in the early 2000s for a short run.
didnt revell release it?
@@MOS6510Models They might have. I haven't been modeling in about a decade so I'm a bit out of the loop but I remember it being re-released in the 2000s. I meant to buy a kit but never got around to it. So it may still be available.

You can see the full history of the kit here
I don't see the answer, so in the late 1970s, Lesney the parent company of Matchbox bought the AMT plastic kit company and owned them until Lesney ran into financial trouble in the early 1980s. AMT was then sold to the kit and diecast company Ertl in Iowa, USA.
Thanks for the info! I just didnt know
I built that Porsche 917. It was small but decent for its scale even when unpainted.
I havent build a porsche yet...
Still have my Alpha Jet and DO-28 Skyservant
Always wanted the 1/32 Puma
Didnt revell rebox that puma about 10 years ago?
@@MOS6510Models yes they did; believe with Bundesgrenzschutz markings. Also the DO-28.
@@mh53j yes that rings a bell.. i will have a look later
Matchbox's collaboration with AMt in this catalogue means I've seen even more kits I have built here. These include the 16th scale Mustang (dates back to when the car first came out in 1964 so it's not the best and to be honest I didn't do that great a job on it either), the 25th scale '55 Nomad (an all time favorite of mine), the oil tanker trailer and the Ford C600 truck, but as a stake bed although the kit came with the tractor unit parts in it. Round 2 has been re-releasing several of the AMT kits of late.
Never heard of round 2.. will check it out. thanks for commenting
I found the 1/76 armour kits from matchbox to be far superior to the airfix kits of the day and the diorama base was a nice bonus. I fondly remember the wespe kit with a palm tree, the Jagdpanther breaking thru a wall and the sherman firefly on half a demolished bridge. Matchbox always were willing to give us different subjects that the other manufactures considered to "fringe" like the dornier flying boat, the heinkel 115 , and the hendon.
Matchbox was all i could get from the newsagents back in the day... util i found a model shop a few miles away and airfix and revell were stocked on the shelves... Matchbox were great kits

Agreed 💯. Do you remember the Chafee with the little fox hole and MG42? And the signs in n French?
This was the second (and last) Matchbox catalogue I had. Loved Matchbox kits: two sets of decals and they fitted together! Plus they were often sold in newsagents, so I could work on my dad on a Sunday. No interest in the AMT part at all. And as for Star Trek... waste of catalogue space!
Haha,, fair play about star trek.. Matchbox and airfix was always sold at my newsagents too
The one with Star Trek kits in LLAP 🖖🖖
Its a classic.. did you build it? i have the TNG enterprise in the stash but the decals scare me lol
@@MOS6510Models Yes a few years after wards, I managed to get the original AMT Releases of the Motion Picture (Refit) Enterprise, the KTinga Class Battle Cruiser and the Vulcan (Surak Class) Shuttle with Warp Sled.
Depends which version of the Enterprise D Kit you have, as to how scary the decals are - though aftermarket one are available.
@@toboldlygosmodelworks1973 thats a fair comment mate..
its the NCC 1701-A refitted Enterprise
Just shows how much a TNG guy i am lol
No, the Enterprise in The Motion Picture, Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock was still NCC-1701 - after it was destroyed in SfS 1701-A came in - you first see it at the end of ST4
