These videos make me Stoked for the season! Can't wait.
Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Thanks for the Support!
Always! One day I'll make the trip from Belgium to you guys! I'll bring some damn good beer to!
Speaking boot fit for foot shape maybe can do an episode to break down what brands are known for which feet. Also maybe some help on boot fitting (such as adding foam to the liner). Example I have extremely low volume feet and only fit Salomon boots as far as I’ve tested (Burton, 32, dc, k2) and I was bummed to find even Salomon has increased their volume so now I needed to run a thick insole and a 3mm shim to fill the slop (my old malamutes fit so perfect not needing any mods). I’d love to know if there’s any other options I should consider because while these salmon echo’s worked for the season I’m not in love with them. I’ve seen a boot fitter here but I don’t think I was that impressed and next time I’ll probably try doing my own padding added to the tongue to hold my foot down more.
love my Photons
the high end Vans are pretty much the best boots I've ever had. Just wish they reduced the bulk (and keep the new lasting! finally a big toe box since what 2-3 years?)
been running the rift for years love it!
Got a great deal on last years infuses. They fit great super excited to ride them this winter!!
Love the hi-country!
Switched to Vans Viaje Range boots from Burton last season and really impressed with them. Great fit (for me), performance and durability.
Love the kita
If the Altai's had more rubber in the soles, I'd have a pair. The Rifts are cool, but the toe stitching starts coming apart after a season. All the new Nideckers are super comfortable, though.
Great vid. Love my wide Photons. Also seems like Burton boots have a smaller footprint compared to others, which helps with heel/toe drag.
@@CLGill36 yes , we found the same with the Nideckers …. Really good for guys size 11 and up to still ride some deeper sidecuts 🤘
My first boots were some random thick Kodiak work boots... Trust me when I say, get good boots!!!
As long as you've got good boots you could ride a fridge door comfortably
Wich Vans snowboard boots have articulated cuffs? Can't find anything about it, I clearly missed it..
Again, thanks all!
Bros I got monster calfs it's so hard to find any good boots, all they make boots for are no leg days people 😭
17inch calf btw
@@mpuff3516 Nidecker Rift and Altai will work for you. I have ~16" and wear a size 8.5 Altai now. I wore Rift in a size 9 last year but after 30 days they packed out. The Nidecker Kita (wrap liner) will not fit, I tried a 10 on in a shop and it wouldn't even wrap around my calf.
~16” calf here, Nideckers work. Rift in a 9 last season but they got too soft and packed out. Have 8.5 Altais for this year. Wrap liners won’t work for me, even in Nideckers. Tried a Kita in a sz 10 and couldn’t even get the liner around my calf.
I hear you. I’m trying to get by w Burton BOA Photons and just crank them tight.
@mpuff3516 the Ride Lasso and Lasso Pro, have a calf adjustment
i really want to progress in park this year like constistently landing 3s and front boards, whats a great boot for that, i ride ice majority of the time, ice coast baby
Single-zone boa ruins the Photon Step-ons.
I really wish someone would make a boot for people with large frames. I only have a size 10 boot, but my ankle bone is almost an inch higher than most others. This causes major discomfort on my ankle bones and instep in most boots. I rode some Vans infuse that felt amazing for around 25 days, but once the padding compressed, the BOA guides would poke into my medial ankle bone causing a lot of pain.
Do you find that splitboard boots with flexible rear cuffs/zones create a fulcrum that translates to ramming your toes into the toebox while striding forward? I had tried on a pair of Jeremy Jones' boots in a shop, and this was the effect that was created when I mimicked a long stride. However, since I didn't use them on-hill, I'm uncertain if this occurs when strapped in.
Perhaps this is just a fit issue (i.e. excess volume in the boot) allowing my foot to slide forward. The boot was otherwise true-to-size.
I feel like those rear flex zones could extend lower, if that's possible without compromising other performance aspects.
Recently picked up some Ride insano’s as I love to turn (no park) but haven’t considered how these will fare in the backcountry. Thoughts? I ride on Australian snow so we have a whole heap of hard packed snow.
@@chooseboost We have never been sent a pair to try but understand that they are Quite stiff ! Hardpack riding with those should be all good ! Splitboard or backcountry , you may want something different !
@@tributeboardshop thanks for you advice. Love the videos you put out. Keep up the great work.
How would you go about some padding in the forefoot of a boot that’s exactly the issues I have. I can’t go a size smaller due to length but yet definitely have that issue of a low volume foot.
Its foot specific - building up an EVA pad or supporting volume under foot ....hopefully you can access a good boot fitter in your area?
@@tributeboardshop I wish they’re honestly pretty bad where I’m at.
I’d like asymmetrical boots as I really like golf shoes designed like that as it’s better on your knees
I also cut heaps of my burton boa inner booty heel grip pads as they were killing me.
i just got the k2 maysis for my 3rd season - been through some iterations of boots and feeling exited that my search for "my boot" is close to an end!
I feel k2 maysis is the EU and ride lasso is the US - so you can find alot of reviews on the lasso but not that much on maysis - because most europeans are cringe skiers.
1st season:
adidas samba - lots of heel lift, too soft, close to breaking my ancle
vans aura pro - fat footprint, boa creates a uncomfortable "ceiling" for my ancle to crash and scratch into because heel lift still happening.
2nd season:
K2 Holgate - loved the boa conda, heat and grip, but feels a little tall (lots of sole), little heavy and stiff
3rd (upcoming season):
K2 maysis - got it yesterday, feels very light, maybe a millimeter less sole (closer to board 😍), and slightly less stiff than my holgate even though the holgate got atleast 40 days on em and the maysis is brand new.
So exited!
been riding infuse for 3 years and love them but this is the first ive heard of jbars. i have really narrow feet so my feet get tired before anything usually. where could i find these?
@@jadendisher2897 Some boot fitters will make them on the spot - burton sells one you can also glue into the shell !
Hopefully you guys get a chance to try/demo the Nitro Darkseid Step On. I’ve had the Ions and Judges. Darkseid is the one.
Hi rad dudes. I been riding vans most of my life. Looking into purchasing either 32 or 9decker boots. Which boots 👢 do you like 32 or Ndecker? Have rad wonderful season tribute gangs. 🏂 🤙🤘
@@moromoro538 love em both ! Tm2 or the Rift
From either brand!
