in the late 80's riding big boards was fun and fast in a cruising way, 175 cm LAMAR TRICK STICK was like a ship, or a Cadilac, just chill and enjoy the ride....!!!

Im debating on the mega death or the indoor survival, I already have 162w jones mountain twin so thats my all mountain board so megadeath is in the same category but still debating on those 2
Since two years I ride the Burton Show Stopper 158 and this board is just exceptionally sick! It rides so damn good in every terrain and the sidecut radius is just nuts. So far, Burton is not having it again in their line up / FT Collection anymore and I really dig something similar. Any advices or recommendations? 🤟

The shape reminds me of the Burton Straight Chuter which I used to ride before and enjoyed a lot as well Generally I go offpiste as often as possible, but I do enjoy some nice carving turns and side hits as well Cheers guys!

United Shapes Deep Reach is my all-time fave board. Mostly for deep pow, but it does great on hard pack/groomers too. A little wide for laying trenches on groomers unless you really work for it. But it definitely surprised me, like y'all.

@@Jrich509 We love that one in longers lengths - for example shane is 155lbs , size 8.5 and he rides the 159 - for carving with that sidecut , if you ride agressivly , go 161Wide !

Im hearing alot about the speed of the Mega Death. Is it clearly much faster than the Kazu? Im looking at both boards for some high speed freestyle, but I don't want to sacrifice any flexibility in terrain & flexibility. Im living in Utah and am getting back into it after years, but I'm just 22 so I'll need something to really push with!

I am 6'1" 240lbs. 47 year old with size 10 wide boots. The Skunk Ape Camber and Yes All Out have nearly identical specs in the 165w vs 164w. Simliar surface, waist, nose / tail with the biggest difference being side cut where the Ape is 8.6 vs Yes 8. Looking for a one board do-it-all when flying to resort and will ride only on resort but never know what conditions you will get. Any other recommendations welcome but those are the two that stuck out.
With size 8 boots im tired of how wide boards are getting lol. A board thats 258 at the waist is wider at the waist than my bare foot is long. Its fine in soft snow or high speeds but in the choppy ice we get here it gets miserable.
100% agree, 255 or maybe 258 max width with an 8.5 boot and moderate angles. Any wider and it’s too much work on firm-variable snow. There’s loads of boards I like in concept and general shape but they’re usually too wide in the length I’d like to ride or too short in the width I’d like to ride.
New base and wide sizes for 2025, but other than that it's the same board. I've got the 2024 and it's now my daily driver. Great board that wants to go fast.
@@Jrich509 As sure as I can be withouth getting on the 2025 model. The website still has the same marketing shpiel from last year. The Resort V3 profile was already there in the 2024 model.
@@markosilhard2326 As long as you know what you're doing, yes. It's not super stiff, and still has more than enough torsional flex, but it gets a bit sluggish if you slow down too much.
The one I know of is the Ghost spray wax. Never ridden on it, though, but I might try it this season. I've heard it performs well in everything but warm temps, and needs to be reapplied every day, but it's like a 1 minute process.
Did anyone ride a tweaker or DOA? Or at this point do you guys remember riding either of those 😂 The tweaker seems to have been tweaked for 2025 from looking at the specs and the doa might have been as well. Wondering if they’ve changed personalities much or not.

In the early 2000s there was a push for longer boards that rode short. I just found the specs on my '99/'00 Supermodel 168. Eff Edge of 1320, Sidecut Radius of 8.6.... waist of 248! Do you think there is a trend to riding larger sizes or is that just what you guys are thinking because of preference? I've seen these trends a few times (as have you).
@@warrens4808 its a deep discussion but we are belivers in effictive edge as a way to size not board length - this is where often we reccomend boards longer than the factory may say you need !

By the way, the first "short" board I got with a long effective edge was the original Santa Cruz XXX 155 (94/95). That thing was all edge with stubby nose/tail. We don’t have any Yes. resellers in Sweden (yet?) so those boards are really difficult to demo. So I was wondering, I have been riding the Jones Stratos in 162 throughout last season but want to and some twin/freestyle flair to my quiver and got really interested in the Yes All-out. But how would you size it? I am 187 cm (~6’2”), 82-83 kg (~182-185 pounds) and wear a US10-10.5 boot. Been riding for ~30 years and feel pretty comfortable anywhere on the mountain, but primarily ride resorts. Do you have a tip for me?

I'm 46, not as flexible as I once was, get lower back pain from time to time & am considering buying some for the convenience & ease etc etc. It's a big chunk of cash to shell out. I have a close friend who's only ridden step ons for the past 4 years. They seem to be pretty good. I saw one of his bindings break during a green park run (straight airs and grabs) which is a bit concerning but Burton replaced his whole binding set with no questions asked.
@@paulfern78 Mark Fawcett uses them often. Check some of Tribute's other videos and you'll see him talk about them. I am 48, I work part time at a board shop and I've been riding almost 35 years now. Step Ons are my daily driver, though I still ride and test strap bindings. I personally love the response I get from Step Ons more than anything else. Lightning fast. And they are super light. Have had my set for 3 full seasons now and haven't had any issues yet. I'm not a park rider, but I've ridden them in every other condition including deep pow, steep terrain, trees... They aren't for everyone--nothing is--but if you want fast response and light weight in addition to the quick in and out, they're a great choice, imo.
Love them. I have the Carbon X for hard carving - super responsive. I also have the Genesis - best for 90% of riders. A little softer but still super responsive. If you have a burton board consider waiting for the EST Step On’s that should be released this upcoming season. Boots - I have owned the Photons & Ions..both good boots but the front strap annoys me. I now use the Nitro Darkseid - expensive but so well thought out, easier BOA system (strap on Burton sucks).
Wise words! There's no bad snowboards anymore, only ones that aren't the right tool for a particular job. 👍

Well I'd still consider yourself lucky. As a size 12 boot I'm restricted to wide boards only. You have way more options.

IN that model , check the 160 Wide . will be great carving and have real nice float with the waist size!
