- Many viewers have asked for a side by side comparison of the different rates of fire between the Full Size UZI, Mini UZI and Micro UZI, so I decided to make that happen. You can check out my other videos for individual videos of each firearm. This one is plain and simple... no real need for conversation, just a few 20 round magazine dumps to show the cyclic rate of each weapon. Enjoy!

Each version increases the cyclic rate by about 300rpm. Uzi (full size) c. 600rpm, Mini-Uzi c.900 rpm, Mirco-Uzi c.1200 rpm.
What's reason/purpose behind this increase?

@@mubasharqadeerSAPphysics; building smaller versions of the device means lowering the bolt mass; lowering the bolt mass results in higher cyclic rate as the recoil impulse of the ammo is relatively consistent.

The micro uzi feels like a handheld miniature MG42
The micro uzi should be called the “pocket mg42” since it shoots over 1200 rounds a minute same as the mg42
I think the Micro Uzi is actually a little bit higher than that, at like 1500rpm

@@charleswolf1812 The Mini Uzi goes around 1200rpm, you can get it down to like 800rpm with a replacement bolt which has tungsten weights.
The Micro Uzi has a very light bolt, and a very short bolt throw, it started at something completely insane like 2400rpm, which forced them to make tungsten weights a standard feature of their bolts as to get it down to a just barely manageable 1500rpm.

40 rds mag had 5 pistol target’s range about 10m/ 14 feet. One fast sweep. Each 5 pist targets had 5 9mm hole’s in a blink of an eye. 25 hit’s and 15 went between those target’s thin air😂
Out of all of them, I think I like the good old fashion full sized Uzi the most

The Micro Uzi remembers me of doing drive-by shootings in the streets of Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto III.
I used to serve in the special operations force of the Vietnam People's Army, in addition to the AK we also used a number of Uzi bought from Israel. I actually like shooting the original Uzi because it has a medium rate of fire that is easy to control. The Micro Uzi has the advantage of being compact, but it fires at a very high speed that makes it difficult for me to control. I use Handgrip so I can control it.
Does it not come with burst fire mode?

@@blackpanthar906No. And the cyclic rate is too fast to get controllable bursts. Better men than me have tried. The Micro is... a novelty. To be polite. It's only that fast because it's a pistol sized straight blowback MG. You're not supposed to make straight blowback SMGs that small, they get faster the smaller you make them. IMI tried pitching the Micro as a VIP protection weapon, which is a running gag among people who actually do that kind of work... imagine shooting that thing in a crowd!
I occasionally still have dreams I'm carrying my original Uzi, that's how much I liked it. But that was half a century ago.
@@gastonbell108 The Micro Uzi was originally just the semi-auto only Uzi pistol for the commercial markets, until some people in the Israeli special forces asked IMI to make a full-auto one.
Turned out to be a little bothersome, they add the Mini Uzi's folding stock and give it the same compensating cuts at the muzzle, but the bolt is another story. They don't get it to quite work in open bolt so it remains closed bolt, and they add a little 'toe' to the front of the bolt to aid feeding. It's obscenely fast, however, so it also has a tungsten weight added to it to bring cyclic rate down from the cosmic 2400rpm, to like 1500rpm or 1800rpm or so, to make it just barely manageable.
This isn't exactly a great weapon, and not many people want it (even some of the people who originally asked for it), but it does apparently see very limited spec ops use. I've seen a few photos, and it seems the one way to actually use it is the MAC M10 style, where the tiny bullet hose is given a forward point of contact to hold on to with a suppressor covered in a heat insulating wrap.
There's better options for a short and suppressed 9mm subgun these days, so this is probably not done anymore, and was probably not ever done widely.

Thanks for the video man! I'm currently working on a weapon sound mod for GTA IV and I needed a video featuring sounds of all Uzis. That vid pretty much showed me how they sound, now my goal is to fine tune in-game gun sounds to make the Uzi sound exactly like in real life

As a young man in the army back in the seventies I used that full sized Uzi often. Great weapon but for short distance. For longer distance we used also a FN FAL.
Heard the Israelis had problems with the FAL and sand(or the local soil). How did you fair?
@@brianvannorman1465 Yeah... that Uzi worked even after dragging it thru sand for a while. The FN FAL could not handle that and blocked when filled with sand.

They make rubber buffer blocks that boost the rate of fire on the full size Uzi by shortening the bolt travel. The 1 inch buffer pushes it from 600 to 750-ish. The 1.25 inch block makes it fire at 850+ rpm. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think the shorter buffer can fit the Mini Uzi and make it fire around the same as the Micro
When I only had the full size I used one of these blocks and they worked great. Now that I have all three I am comfortable having each one maintain its own rate of fire. Actually really enjoy slow firing smg’s just for the controllability factor. High rate of fire is fun, but I spend a lot of time taking people out to shoot their “dream” machine gun and ot is pretty disconcerting giving a shooter new to full auto a firearm that shoots at 1200+ rpm… definitely raises my anxiety level so I like having some slower firearms for them to try first.
I use the 1 inch buffer in mine and I think you’re dead on with the 750

I'm not sure why would you want to. The Micro Uzi's FR is absurd. In this vide it took him 1,2 sec to empty the mag. In real situation you will be out of ammo when you need it.

A little while ago I (a Brit) got to shoot several full auto guns having never done so before. The original Uzi was by far my favourite. A very comfortable shoot and to me a very satisfying rate of fire

I'd propably choose the mini uzi. Not too smal, not too big. Looks nice and has a fast rate of fire.

Full size seems to just be the most accurate and controllable in my opinion, easiest but you cant go wrong with a mini or even a micro

@@SOULEATERHILLS what's so funny? When militaries design their automatic capable small arms, they usually specify that the rate of fire be around 600-700rpm. Fast enough to lay down effective suppressive fire, but not so fast that it's uncontrollable or builds up heat or blows through ammo too fast.

I prefer the full size version. You could put the wooden stock on it. 32 round magazines and a sling. It was a well designed firearm that was the preferred weapon for elite squads, soldiers of fortune and criminals of all stripes. And was featured on many films, television shows and in men’s adventure novels in the 80’s.
I wish that the IWI company could bring back the classic design.

The satisfaction on the face after micro is all i need.
I was able to handle the full size version when it was displayed in an arms exhibit. The mini Uzi that I was able to fire was borrowed from the bodyguard of our town's mayor. I have never seen an actual micro Uzi but I was able to fire an Uzi pistol which was converted to full auto. This version had no folding stock
and was marked Action Arms.
Among the three, the micro Uzi seems to have the fastest cyclic rate and is not as controllable as the mini Uzi. A micro Uzi may work better if it had a compensator. It reminded me of the 45 ACP version of the Ingram or MAC. In full auto, both seem to move upward with the third round hitting the top of the target 🎯 board at seven yards. Nice collection Jason !!
The Micro Uzi was outright made because Israeli spec ops had asked IMI if they could put a fire selector and stock on the Uzi pistol, so an Uzi pistol converted to full-auto is pretty damn close to the real deal.

The full size uzi is so classic, I can't help but have a soft spot for it. The mini and micro....ehhh, bit too spicy. Especially if your trying to make good hits and you don't have a lot of experience on high RPM firearms.
