Thanks for sharing! Which add-in do I actually need to install to have this ribbon with the Sankey Diagram? The Excel add-in store gives a bit too much options to choose from...
Hi, it is not possible to directly update a VBA Sankey diagram by simply adding new data. The Sankey diagram relies on shapes and connections created using a complex algorithm, so updating it would require a complete redraw of the diagram rather than a simple data refresh. However, you can regenerate the diagram in seconds with the updated data.
If one buys and adds the add-in to do these charts, does the resultant excel file have macros in it and therefore saved as a macro enabled work book? Can people without the add-in see the charts?
Hi, currently you can use the Sankey diagram with an installed add-in. We are thinking of portability, it is easy to develop. But in this case, we can cut the dynamic selection feature, which is important.
@excelkid If I send the file with the Sanke Diagram to someone without the the add-in be able to see the diagram? If so, and it is linked to changeable data by that person would the Sanke update in their version of the spreadsheet? I want to add it to an Occupational Health Audit tool I have developed.

Hi, The Sankey Diagram presented here is part of our chart add-in. You can find more information here: excelkid.com/chart-add-in-2/
Is there a way to have the diagrams auto update when new data is entered? The VBA is blocked from editing.
