I got one of these on Facebook marketplace for $95. Had to purchase the gear box cover, but otherwise in pretty good condition. Cant wait to fully restore it.

Did you notice any difference in the spreading accuracy of the LCO-1000 being it doesn't have the helical cone-adjust like the more expensive model? Thanks!
I didn't notice any difference myself but I didn't put it to a scientific analysis so it's possible there is a difference. The only other issue with the cone is that most brands don't mention it so unless you exclusively use the Andersons products it may not be worth it making the LCO-1000 a bit more universal.

Silver Cymbal What have you found to be the best weed killer to use in your Anderson’s fertilizer spreader? I have been using ortho weed b gone liquid concentrate for years just spraying it walking along with a sprayer on a garden hose line but the same dandelions seem to come back each year so I’m really frustrated.
Good review Silver, you should review spyker spreader 80lb, I have heard good things about those spreaders.
I haven't ever worked with one of theirs but would like to sometime. I see they have a big following.

Hey @SilverCymbal since you have used both the SR2000 and the LCO-1000, which one is better? Do you miss the SR2000 pattern adjustability when using the LCO-1000? How is the throw pattern on the LCO-1000 in comparison? Looking to finally upgrade my spreader and these two are on top of my list. Neither are available on amazon so I will have to find them locally. Just want the best I can get regardless of price.
The SR2000 is still the best and most accurate spreader but its like $1000 still. If you could find one used I would buy it, but otherwise the LCO is the next best thing and still exctremely accurate
@@SilverCymbal I ended up buying a new SR-2000. Feels like Christmas. What grease do you use for the Nylon gears? I read that regular petroleum based grease shouldn't be used for nylon gears. The manual doesn't specify anything.

I just bought and received the Anderson LCO 1000 but my question is I live in San Antonio Texas its October last days it's cold now can I spread Jonathan Green Black Beauty Ultra to my lawn since we have better weather now or wait till March to reseed my lawn which is best time frame. In your video that you showed killing weeds with the herbicide tenacity, I noticed you were using a sprayer that had a long extension wand. can you tell me what was the sprayer or the extension wand you used I’m having trouble finding an extension wand longer than the standard one that comes with the sprayers

What is the "special" price?? It's over $800.00 on Ebay. Wow! Why the hell would any normal homeowner pay this much for a spreader? Wow! no reason for it to be that much...
Sorry, I have never seen a commercial service use any manual push spreader.
Reading a lot about them having plastic gears even with the stainless frame and wearing out really quick. For such an expensive buy, surely more should be expected?
The lesco and andersons all use plastic gears. I wouldn't worry about that. If you do need to replace them the entire set is under $20 so its very resonable but I dont think they will wear out.
@@SilverCymbal I own on of these. I used it for the first time today in probably one year. While spreading today, it started out normally, but about half done on the property - the drive tires stopped spinning the impeller.
Any suggestions? The gear assembly seems fine. Is there a pin or something else that may be missing that connects the gear to the impeller shaft? I spent an hour trying to figure it out with no luck.
Are you doing 10 acres? This is ridiculous.
Whether its 1 or 10 it doesn't matter if your spreader isn't accurate. Read some of the reviews on cheaper ones and you can ruin a lawn with them they are so bad. Yes these are expensive but will last a lifetime with minimal upkeep. Still cheaper than paying someone else too.
I will just let everyone know that I got this spreader and the instructions to assemble are very poorly done...its not hard to figure out but jeez...secondly it is packed in the box horribly the axle was sticking thru the side of the box when I got it...they dont use any Styrofoam to secure it inside the box
Sorry to hear that the box was damaged, lawn gear can be tough sometime with shipping. I hope using it ends up being a great experience.
