  • We spent nearly 4 hours on the aligner trying a few different rear traction rod lengths to achieve minimal toe change as the car squats under load.
    We tried the following:
    Standard: 210mm
    Lengthened: 230mm, 220mm, 218mm, 219mm
Settling on 219mm we found that there was minimal change in the toe curve during squat/load. This length will change with different ride heights, the only way is to research what your car needs on an aligner.

One of the few straight to the point practical videos out there about what traction arm length does to rear geometry, thanks man!

enjoyed that one mate and have taken notes. Will be off to the aligner this week for a check up. but since day dot when I got the sonvia ive always had the traction rod longer. Only by around 15mm.

DriftSquid thanks mate! Now your secret’s out! I’ve never had the need to mess with it but thought I’d give it a go. Liked your latest video too, it was a long one but I was glued to it watching Darren do his thing.

@@DeanNewcombDrift Yeah I honestly had no idea it kept the toe in check. I just ran it because wheelworx had it like that haha. But they did use to run like 15mm tow out on the rear of the car. Was wack but drove really well from what I remember.

It didn’t have AMAZING grip, was easy to drive and had even tyre wear though. Might try another setting that gives it more toe in under load.
