  • Fran discovered the difference she wants to make with her research and writing, but her work can't be done in isolation. The question of, "Who am I to contact well-known experts" is holding her back. Watch how we made the shift in her beliefs and identity to allow her enthusiasm to re-emerge.

@MarciaReynolds, this is the template of the perfect conversations I would love to be able to foster in my future practice. I've seen quite a few live sessions, but this one is soooooo elegantly powerful! 🙇‍♂️
    Thank you for sharing❤

Everytime I watch a Marcia coaching demonstration it just highlights the impeccable skills of an MCC level coach. Its extraordinary to watch and learn from. I bought the book "Coach the Person Not the Problem" and absolutely love it so far. Cannot wait for January 2024 for the next book Breakthrough Coaching. I have so much to learn and really grow from watching Marcia coach. I have watched all of Marcia's coaching demos and it has provided so much value. Selfishly, I would love to see Marcia analyze her own coaching demonstrations and provide insights on what she was thinking with tips/pointers on how she navigated certain topics/situations during the coaching session.

This was such a great example of awareness coaching using the markers! I'm working toward ICF certification and have had the opportunity to coach classmates in very short periods of time to some amazing insights. It blows me away what can be accomplished in such a brief session. I'm just starting to really hone my skills with the markers. I'll be checking out more of your demos. Thank you so much!

That was an excellent session demonstrating a shift in attitude in a quick 20 minutes....The client definitely gained a lot of new insights in a short amount of time. The coach made it look effortless so credit to her. The only thing I noticed that was missing at the beginning was setting an agreement.... But by the end of the session, a new awareness was definitely formed.

I hope Fran has established some dates for the interviews. One way to prepare is to interview herself in front of a mirror, asking and answering the questions. Whether its the right or wrong answer doesnt matter. Its the mental preparation. I detect shes a fellow South African like me. Great video Marcia, thanks for sharing. I have just come across your channel.

Thank you Marcia for sharing the demo sessions 🙏
Just started reading your book - "Coach the person, not the problem" and the reflective inquiry is making so much of sense 🙂
I have began my coaching journey recently and pursing ICF ACC credentials, completed NLP Practitioner certifications. Please do share if you have suggestions or guidance for people starting up with the coaching journey. Thank you 😇

I'm not sure this is a shifting of any belief. Rather it seems to me to be a clarification of Frans role. Regardless, it helped her with her situation.

This coach keeps interrupting the client with “okay” before the client is done and it feels like the coach is too eager to speak. And she’s also putting words in the clients mouth and telling her more what she thinks than asking clarifying questions. You can tell the coach has already decided what the clients needs or wants - she’s projecting her narrative onto the session instead of being more curious.

Mercia, first time I could feel that you lead the client in the middle. it appears you were trying to solve her problem that changing belief. In fact it looked like you were making her to accept your agenda of solution and you were looking clueless at the end.

It was way too directive, Most of the questions were unneeded long formulated, instead of being shorter und straight to the point, no silence for the coachee to reflect..

if a 20 min coaching can do what it did, am excited about what a lifelong commitment to being a #coachee on all things important to self can do to one🪄👌👌👌

Over the years, my coaching sessions are shorter and more profound, especially when we focus on identity perceptions and growth. I am glad I can support your journey Kiran.
