The soul of cycling indeed. I am weak, if my old man was still around and I told him I was going to do this massive trek, he would have done the same as your Pops. It was a struggle, a fight, but you did it and your Father was proud in a way that he could at least hug you in the end. I'll make my future runs now, because I know my Old Man would have done the same for me. Revel in that moment. Your strength is unapparelled and your support group was equally strong. Thank you for giving me the frame work for my "lost" story. Single Speeds Forever.
Impressionnant, captivant, émouvant. Merci Thomas d’avoir partagé cet exploit. 😘
Magnifique film, magnifique univers, magnifique performance. Bravo!
unexpectedly crying along with Thomas and his father at the end, perhaps because I wish at some point my father could have been along for one of my adventures and to be there at the end like that, say words like that, but he is gone. this is a fabulous documentation of the journey, singlespeed FTW... Really amazing, the ride, the everything, magnifique
20:50 these moments are when you find your true self. In the darkness of suffering. Mentally, physically and emotionally battered. When you can push through, the feeling on the other side of the tears is indescribable. 💪
Thank you Cory for bringing us along for your trip in the film, in todays society of the 9-5 this is very uplifting to see and good for you for taking the plunge. Keep riding x
Ah yes, it all starts making sense at around 6:10 when the dad tells us his son was a bike messenger in paris. That explains the (insane) choice of a fixed gear bike & the size of the guy's leg muscles. I live in Avallon & i've ridden sections of this route. I reckon even this guy was walking/carrying a fair bit. Respect!
i test rode this bike today. the gear is fuckin bananas! i pedaled my ass of and barely moved... mega acceleration but veeeery slow top speed. i dont know if he changed something about the sprocket size, otherwise this is even crazier haha
What an outstanding physical performance and the film is amazing, really. But, please, just, dont talk about "full autonomy" when you have your family and friends following you in a van (even if they dont give you water and kit kat 🙃)
@@jimmit77 which I did ! carrying all my gears and stuff, and purchasing supplies only trought accessible to all stores. But I do understand this topic can be subject to controversy. I'm fine with that ! Thanks for watching :)
@@jimmit77 which was the case... all the way. also still in that autonomy spec: fixed his own mechanicals, bought his own supplies when needed, managed his lodging and whatnot on his own.
Nice quality video but honestly.. what's the point ?! Saying "sleep is overrated" is not only stupid but downright dangerous. And biking long distance on top of that, what can possibly go wrong ?! Besides, he did sleep a bit of course so this ride was definitely not done " in one go" If this is the philosophy of Kona, i would never want one.
my heart is alight glowing with this present
I’m in awe
The soul of cycling captured beautifully. Merci!
Avec plaisir! thanks for that comment!
I can't imagine how difficult it was, great job Thomas! Thanks for sharing and for being an inspiration!
No fear, no victory.... Purity of emotions, purity of life!
I love Kona so much ❤️
very beautiful video 😊😊.

I found myself crying and rooting for you. I loved how supportive and proud your father was. Many respects to you! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I think it’s very touching how his father is his only support.
Chapeau Thomas and thanks for this gem Ryan!
Amazing feat and well done! Great to see the support and love from your dad and accompanying rider
Bravo Thomas! I truly enjoyed this video.

This hit a home run for me, amazing effort and loved watching it. Congratulations Thomas, what a heartfelt experience.
Amazing!
Chapeaux Thomas, fantastic achievement.
Damn! Great cinematics. And, not least, very impressive accomplishment 👏

Thank you so much for this piece of art. Inspiring!
Glad you like it!
Awesome 👍😎
Damn! reaching the location with less sleep was so hard, and yet he made in just 6 days. So proud of this man! ❤❤❤
Bravissimo complimenti!

this isn't Cory ! hahah it is me
Excellent effort!!!
Merci!
🤙Great job hammering it out with minimal rest.
Great Job MAN! STRONG POWER ENDURANCE
Belle vidéo, beau challenge, bel effort, belle France.
Merci !
Incredible human strength! Long live single speed!
Such a inspirational project 🥰🥰🥰amazing what humans can do if they really wish💪💪💪💪😢
Impressive. I love the style. Also no useless talk needed.
Right on!

Wow amazing and inspiring film... I was wondering... What gear did he use in this adventure? Thanks!!!
I used a 32x20 !
Epic!
On singlespeed?!?! Crazy guy and crazy trip. Does he get some money for this?) Is it sponsored?)
Bravo!
B R A V O THOMAS!!!! 🤝🤝👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪💪👊👊👊
Mais une question me taraude : Flat Bar or not to be ? That is the question
Wow, what a ride !
Kudos Thomas.
@ Ryan, great editing job.
Maybe adding distances in miles and elevation in feet for our non metric friends 😉
Quelle gifle ! Bravo champion !
He crushed that shit
Thanks !
man u got me jealoused ..
Any idea what gear ratios he chose?
I mean if it doesn't make you cry like a baby I think you are not even trying hard enough

Define autonomy…
@@Ryanlegarrec many bikepacking events define it as only accessing supplies from stores that exist along the route.

Olivier, i think that you have mistaken full autonomy with riding solo ..
Bon boulot les gars 👍
Hi Lodi nice take care
Where can we see more from Ryan?
Hello!!! Thanks for asking! You can find me here!
@@Ryanlegarrec best cycling film Ive seen, well done. Did you do the edit?
@@Daniel_Grey yes i did. Thanks so much!
can someone tell me what the girl say to her dog?
Ha ha yeah I can! But you don’t wanna know 😂
I wonder what ratio he used
32x20
