Note, warlock stacking with martial classes does not work for Honour mode. I would suggest putting the other 2 levels in fighter for action surge, or back to paladin.
Which other 2 levels are you suggesting? 7 pal, 3 warlock 2 fighter?
@@fallaffect yes, or 9 pal 3 lock.
Gonna be trying a new solo playthrough with this build, seems strong enough to do so! thanks for the great tutorial!
Awesome tutorial! You have a great voice, your manner of speaking was very soothing. Most of the time when people make build videos they try to hype it up and come off as obnoxious, however you showed your process all the way through and gave us examples of how it worked. very cool
Thank you so much for this comment. It made my day.
Great Video. Another note, you can actually use your eldritch blast to shoot out of the darkness. It can be a real life saver is certain dire situations. Allowing you to just finish off ranger enemies that won't come inside it like on your video.
For Great Weapon Master, Repelling Blast, Sharpshooter and other passives you might want to toggle on or off it's very useful to make a custom tooltip on the bottom so that you have all the actions you use the most and the togglable passives visible at all times so you don't forget to toggle them as much.
Can you actually toggle gwm off? I dropped it because it was always on
@@Xilibriusyes. In your spellbook, under common, there is a toggle you can add to your hotbar called "great weapon master: all in". When this toggle is in your hotbar, you can click it to turn off the feat.
@@Xilibriusdid you even watch the video?
Hope this helps others cause I was stumped for a while. I was able to re-break my oath (devotion) by persuading an NPC I would help them, I had issues when I attacked, the fight would run it's course and end, and my oath would not break. I tried using non-lethal on the last enemy, knocked them out, which changed their highlight color from red to yellow, then killed them while they were unconscious, this broke my oath. So make sure to target yellow highlighted NPCs for breaking your oath.
IMPORTANT: you can't respec after you break your oath unless you atone and pay 1000 gold. Which means you'll need to break your oath again. So maybe wait until you respec to become an oathbreaker.
Nah there's no fucking way bro. My entire run is ruined then because there's only one way to break the vengeance oath and I've already done it.
Just found out it's bugged too. You can't retake oath Respec and then break oath again. You don't gain the oath breaker skills at all.
What a joke
@@2Spookeh4Methen you gotta trade and sell your items, 1k isn’t too hard to come by depending on where you’re at in the story. I accidentally killed an entire inn and just looted them to get back in the good
@@2Spookeh4Meyou're fine. Save up 1000 gold. Respec. Go oath of devotion. Easy to break oath. Kill an innocent. I did it on accident haha.
@@KryptonArcher "accidentally killed an entire inn" is the most oathbreaker thing I've ever heard what are you doing atoning lmao
@@KryptonArcher Yeah i have a little over 2k that isn't an issue.
I found out that going back to oath breaker after retaking oath is bugged. Oathbreaker NPC never shows up again no matter how many long rests i take. I have to restart if i want to build the way i was hoping
Savage attacker normally doesn't effect spell damage rolls but it does effect divine smite. so it ends up being higher damage than what you showed here.
found a greatsword that seems awesome with this build Svartlebee's woundseeker Deepen the Wound: The wielder gains a +1d4 bonus to Attack Rolls with this weapon when attacking creatures that have already taken damage.
saw it on another video and didn't know about it, you get it by killing or knocking out gauntlet yeeva at waqueen's rest in act 1
This is the guide i've been looking for :D thanks heaps!
I'm glad it helped.
Great build, Ive been playing something similar in my first playthrough and can confirm it is a boss killing machine! Just a heads up though warlock spellslots are broken right now for multiclassing in case anyone gets blindsided by not being able to use them properly at first on multiclass. If your warlock slot isnt the highest spell slot level you have (like in the video) it will break in various ways. So It may be better to go warlock first if you want to avoid this bug but you do lose out on heavy armor/weapon proficiency paladin start gives. Also another thing is pact of the blade lv5 extra attack feat stacking with other martial/bard extra attacks is most likely an oversight that will be patched out (PHB 164: Extra Attack). If you want more info I have a post up on the bg3 subreddit as "PSA for Warlock multiclass: Warlock spell slots are bugged". Its insane how many ways the warlock slots are broken. People are still finding out weird quirky things that trigger different bugs with it.
Did the latest patch fix this ?
Speaking of warlock spell slots being bugged, I haven't seen anyone talk about the fact that warlock spells don't seem to trigger the "next spell you cast doesn't consume a spell slot" passives, yet they still don't consume a spell slot. If you go sorlock, you can "sacrifice" your warlock spell slot for an infinite amount of sorcery points.
With rogue 3/warlock 1/sorc 8, you can fireball 3x/turn, every turn, forever.
They actually made a Twitter post saying the extra attack is working as intended, though you are right, in 5e it doesn't stack.
That was awesome. Great video and cool idea! Really enjoyed it!
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed.
Was literally just thinking of how to make a deathknight and then this popped up. Awesome!
Great video and combat guide!
thanks man this is exactly what i needed
this in combination with a wildheart barbarian with wolf aspect is insane. with some of the items in the game you get, I believe, a 16-20 critical range, and you're almost always hitting with advantage. Add a gloomstalker/assassin to that party, and you'll flat out demolish whole encounters before the enemy even gets a turn.
Could you tell us more ? I'm really intrigued!
You can create advantage for yourself with darkness :)
But can you say what items you mean?
Sounds cool!
@@aldoushuxley5953 The crit items are mostly from act3, so quite late in the game. There is one in act 2 too I believe. It is a bow. Passives you gain from bows are pretty much the best items in the game imo :D
Hey man, I am really intrigued, could you please share a levelling guide for this ? I want a barb/paladin build for my karlach
The Lucan D'Lere playthrough I've been waiting for
WARNING: Atonement is currently bugged in the game for some people and causes a CTD when activiating the cutscene. For those of us that want to do this build but get this bug, you should start out as warlock, get to lvl 3 for the blade boon, then start speccing into paladin and break your oath.
this is the most well made build video i’ve ever seen.
Thank you so much. I'm really glad people are liking it.
Doing similar build, just lvl 7, but will go 5 levels Paladin to get feat and extra attack, then 5 levels Warlock, getting charisma modifier for attacks + extra attack with boon weapon, aaand the last 2 levels as warrior for that juicy action surge. Dont think it will be necessary at lvl 12 for that much, but like the idea of it just destroying whole fight with one main character. Have couple buffs constantly, Tyrs buff for AC, lock buff , couple permanent buffs from just doing story things, more movement from Gale and thats every long rest constant. stealth before encounter or potion of invis+haste or speed potion, Bless from shadowheart just before and SMASH. lots of times if there is enemies near each other paladin just clears them all. can open with Gales fireball aoe to weaken them and just kill with paladin. Going damage playthrough for stacked buffs on fast encounters. But this game is so incredible, you can use countless builds and ways to win fights. even simple actions like shove/jump/help out of ensnares and stuff, enviromental damage, throwing, crowd control. Truly great game with so many posibilities, great guide btw.
I played this multiclass in an actual dnd campaign years ago. With a Conquest Paladin and hexblade warlock, Pretty much maxing out charisma and con and ignoring dex and str. That guy was a beast. Its the class I've been playing in bg3 since launch and its so much fun! Its awesome to see it get some recognition as most of the multi-class websites don't really talk about how strong the maxed out charisma is when you have no need for str or dex.
What inspired me to do this build is not actually the attack capabilities, which everybody knows, but how strong Aura of Devotion gets.
Considering you're an experienced player in this build, I'm playing this build but using shield and support abilities. Got archfey patron for AoE charm/frighten and Oath of the Ancients for the heals and to take only half spell damage. Do you think this is a good path, considering I already have strong damage dealers in the party, or should I just go full dices into the table, as shown in the video. Mind you I'm playing a "clean" run, which means no illithid larvae consumed (wherever that takes me)
Lockadin is literally considered the most powerful and most known multiclass in DnD 5e.
@@grabeck666 Maybe nowadays but not like 5 or 6 years ago when I played the character lol bc I remember scouring the web for builds and couldn't find anything so I just figured it out myself
@@Jewels___ What originally inspired me to do the build was the story implications. A character torn between two completely different deities sounded fun. I don't really do a lot of min/maxing as it makes me feel too overpowered. I just really liked the idea of rolling a massive handful of d8s for a single attack at the table lol. I realized that as a paladin you need tons of different stats: Str/Con/Cha but then you have no points left over for Wis, Int, or dex so your character just gets bullied by spell casters and stealth... Too much. So I looked at the hexblade and saw you don't need strength anymore and thought that looked really fun. In bg3 I'm mostly just going with what sounds fun and following the same path as my character from years ago :). the Ancients and archfey is a cool story combo! I'm sure that works great. Personally I only went it for pact of the blade so I can ignore str and max cha and see how many d8s I can role for one hit!
@@grabeck666I was under the impression Sorcadin was the "most recognized" multiclass for powergaming
I just started a Dark Urge Paladin playthrough but chose Dragonborn. It's fun so far - hilariously brutal.
I wish i did my urge as a oath breaker but still enjoying the multiclass im doing for it. Will do oath breaker as a solo
Keep in mind for every character you make that a +1 to any ability score is free if you deal woth the hag right. Id always keep one score odd. Get the hag buff and pick up an actual feat.
Ive been thinking about doing a 7 Fighter/5 warlock but i have to admit this looks fun too
This and the barbonk builds are amazing, instant sub from me
Thank you. I have plenty more planned. A really detailed monk multiclass guide for all 3 subclasses will be up this weekend. After that it'll be up to the community
Nice vid this will probably be the my second playthrough build! Tip I found recently for your mic; get the Steel Series Sonar software and use the noise cancellation software and a basic mixer is good and easy to use. You dont need Steel Series products to use it btw.
Would you mind elaborating for the mic sound?

Fun note, we got a term of this in dnd, its called the Padlock, but honestly Death knight is pretty based too
You would think Wardin (Warden) would be more fitting when playing off the two names.
@@deuswulf6193 that’s badass! I think most use padlock because it leans more into paladin then warlock
Mostly we call it Lockadin. Same as Bardadin, Barbadin, Sorcadin etc.
Also have a cleric in your party to cast hold person, blindness, hold monster, ...
Something you might not have touched on for Hex that is super powerful in Bg3 is hex on Strength, because that gives them disadvantage for the athletics checks vs Shove so it makes it much easier to Yeet people off cliffs/high ground
Is shove an ability check or saving throw? Because if it’s a saving throw, that doesn’t work. Genuine question, because I’m not sure how shove works off the top of my head.
Shoving depends on your Athletics, and the higher of the target's Athletics or Acrobatics. Shoving always succeeds if you're hidden or invisible.
So Hex works, but for shoving, you need to hex dexterity instead on some enemies
The only thing I'd say is, be careful who you shove down a cliff. On my current playthrough, which is my 1st playthrough, I shoved the giant spider of the cliff to kill her off. Her corpse was unreachable to me, so I haven't found out what she drops.

Where did you get your second Armor from?
This is the build I wanted, but didn't know how to fucking do it. Thank you!
Glad it helped :D
The Eversight Ring from Act 2 gives immunity to blindness and lets you see in the darkness spell.
Blindness, yes, but magical darkness has other effects it may not necessarily negate. Can you freely attack with both ranged and melee attacks into and out of the cloud?
the devil sight darkness combo is bugged, sadly.
it simply does not work as intended (nor as written).
i suppose this would apply to the ring thing you're talking about
Devil's Sight works perfectly fine in Darkness for me. You might have a bug in your game but I'm doing fine with Devil's Sight inside Darkness.@@Cool_as_the_Northern_Wind
@@SaturninePlacesyou can melee attack on darkness but you can't shoot out ranged attack or spells in and out
Warning to people running this build. There's currently a pretty common bug that will crash your game when you try to re swear your oath if you've already multiclassed. It seems to not be an issue if you're still full paladin but multiclassing and then doing it seems to be the cause. so people may want to take the hit to strength in the early game and max out charisma before you start going into warlock
I'm trying to figure out how to become an oathbreaker paladin, reswear and then rebreak and in what order that it needs to be done in
You can just respec, lvl 1 or so, then break your oath then go warlock
If ur immune to blindness you can see in the darkness spell. There is a ring in Act 2 that gives you it, and the sharrans all have it as well
Yes but can you see through it to Aldrich blast someone on the other side of the darkness?
@@MeekMallard I've not noticed an inability to do so, but I can't say I've actively tried. I usually wade in and blast away. I'd be curious to find out
Interesting that extra attack from two different classes stack in this game vs. not being able to in tabletop…I like it ☺️
I believe it is just with the warlock pact only. Extra attack from fighter would not add another attack if you had it from paladin already.
@@josiahabbott339 that’s very good to know, thanks!
This seems like a bug to me and I would expect it to get patched
@@jonnymj I thought the same, except, they have not patched it and their has been SEVERAL big major patches.
I was planning on doing this (5warlock/7paladin specifically) but opted not to because i didn't think the extra attack would stack. Considering both tooltips state they're not supposed to stack with similar effects, I expect this is a bug that'll be patched soon. Still, cool to see that it works. I've been doing 5warlock/Xsorcerer instead so I can quicken cast spells like haste and hunger of hadar while still being able to double attack with melee or eldritch blast on the same turn and its been fun, but I might switch back to my original plan.
For sure they should not stack. I didnt know they do, definately a bug then.
Doin same build (warlock 5/7 sorc) with githyanki so i get medium armor prof among other things and it rocks.
Lockadin seems super fun 2 though, might try him on my dark urge 2nd playthrough.
With these multiclass builds, you say 5 warlock /7 paladin, is that the specific order you levelled up or is that just your combo of class levels.
5 levels in warlock first, then the next 7 paladin?
If you follow his video, select paladin first until level 7 then subclass in warlock for the next 5 levels. You can do it in a different order based on preference. I might do 2 paladin then 1 warlock
@SensationsRim not sure what I'm doing wrong. Since then I've made a new character exactly the same as in the video. I've gotten a paladin to level 4, but he sucks. Rarely hits and feels like I'm doing nothing.
On the other end, tried doing warlock first upto level 4 so far, and he sucks. Idk what everyone means when they say eldritcb blast is amazing, it definitely isn't for me! Rarely even hit with it, and if I do I'm getting like 2 dmg
Great build! hardest choice for me is either going Sorcadin or Lockadin but im leaning towards Lockadin after watching this video
Embrace Palabard
Great build vid. A Bardlock build would be pretty cool to see.
Want it caster focused or more of a hexblade mix?
A hexblade mix would be cool.
@@shadowspast420 Cool. I'll see what I can do.
Thank you. I’m curious to see how it works with the Larian tweaks if there is any.
Yeah, for anyone wanting to follow this guide make sure not to break your oath early on and multiclass as an Oathbreaker. If you go to Withers as an Oathbreaker and are wanting to respec he'll deny you and states you need to regain your oath before hand. Which costs 1k gold and there is a chance the Oathbreaker Paladin NPC will break after you regain your Oath. Happened to me and I've had to just run through the game as a Vengence Paladin.
Also, if you want an undead army to fit the Death Knight vibe then I highly recommend you advance and finish the reading of the Necromancy Tome found in the Alchemist Cellar found in Act 1.
Should I get to level 6 break my oath level up to 7 then multiclass to warlock?
@@jacksonthomas2942 You could multiclass at level 2 and have 1 in Paladin and 1 in Warlock whenever you'd like. If I were to start over and follow this guide I would subclass as a Vengence Paladin (which is the harder of the 3 oaths to break) and as I'm leveling up I would focus on following along with the warlock portion of this video. If survivability is low then sprinkle in a level or two of Paladin, once I get to level 5 warlock then I would focus on breaking the oath. Long winded response but I hope it was helpful.
Brother, you put up a fantastic video... but it's eldritCH with a CH like Cheese. Other than that tiny nitpick? Absolutely fantastic walkthrough- all the details one needs, no extra time spent on intros or sponsorships in the beginning, and you just keep rolling. Positively fantastic.
Thank you. Haha I had a few people point out I pronounced it incorrectly. I appreciate the feedback. :)
@@Blood_Ronin And you know, it's funny- I was already going to go Lock-adin, but I'd never have gone to War 5 since unlike in BG3, those Extra Attack features don't stack. So with my 5e knowledge, I never would have thought to try if I hadn't stumbled upon your video- honestly, you hooked me with the "four attacks average" tagline. Which, amazingly enough, not only was it possible, but you're not joking about it being unlimited. It's not just a single nova round like most Paladin/fighter/Warlock builds of Action surge, stabby stabby, then cry until you get a short rest XD
It is indeed.
Try a barbarian gloomstalker with a two hander. I’d love to see someone try that
Hi im new to series..ive always wanted to play a pally death knight..bt im leaning towards 1handed and shield..what wud u recommend? if i follow this build issit still viable or do i need to make changes?
I think that if you wanted to fully min-max this build I would go with Tiefling and Zariel Tiefling is the best as a starters since you get free smites. You can also choose between Drow (For Faerie Fire/Darkness), Duergar (free invis and enlarge). You would drop your first 8 levels into Paladin and any of the Oaths are actually pretty good and then lastly drop your last 3 levels into Warlock either Fiend or GOO. You choose Fiend for the survivability granted by the temp hp for killing enemies and GOO for the crit frighten. Tome and Blade are the best pact features and I would incentivize blade over Tome's 3rd level abilities since Blade allows you to put your rest ASI scores into maximizing your Charisma scores instead of your strength so you can dump the rest into your other skills and the pact weapon feature. You would also put in your illithid powers into Luck of the Far Realms and Favorable Beginnings. For Warlock the two invocations that are important are going to be agonizing blast and devil sight if you plan on running Darkness. If you do not plan on running Darkness, Armor of Agathys and Hellish Rebuke are prime spells to have. The best way to use your spell slots at the end of the day is the short rest free smites that go a long way though.
Great video! This has to be one of the coolest builds I’ve seen on UA-cam so far. I am slightly confused though when it comes to the fighting style. You said Great Weapon Fighting is decent at best and that Dueling is so amazing and will scale really well with Aura of Hate, yet in the demonstration at the end, you are using a two-handed weapon, which means you are using the decent-at-best Great Weapon Fighting, since Dueling does not apply to two-handed or versatile weapons. So… which fighting style is BEST for this build, Dueling or Great Weapon Fighting? Or is it just a matter or preference?
It is just preference. Dueling gives ac and more sustain since you go sword and board. Great weapon is for the 2 handers only. If you go 2hander you either use defense or great weapon
@@Blood_Ronin Gotcha. Looks like I’m sticking to my Everburn Blade on my pally playthrough then. Sword and board is alright, but I love absolutely Hulk-smashing everything in my path lol
It would be pretty hilarious and probably broken to see a party with this paladin, necromancer wizard, spores druid and a cleric (whatever subclass really) that uses summon spells. HORDES of summons, most of which will be buffed by Aura of Hate. Its pretty balanced as far as party roles too. The only part you're really missing is a rogue for lockpicking/disarming traps and sneaking, though you probably wouldnt need to sneak with this party anyway.
I have Gale as a necromancer. I can confirm it is hilarious.
I had wyll with 4 summons and shadowheart with 1, thats prob not even too much, but it still became so tedious controlling everyone.
Greate video. Give me very very nice insights. One question: Did pact of blad works with dual wielding atacks (atack with left hand on bonus action) , or it just applys to the main weapon?
It is only your Pact weapon which you designate after each long rest. This multiclass isnt great for dual wielders.
Considering that Longstrider seems... broken, at least for me and ISN'T consuming a Spell Slot, having a Druid with this as a coop partner could EASILY turn this into a sprinting meat grinder
Longstrider is a Ritual spell. That means it does not consume a spell slot when used outside of combat. If you cast it in combat it will still use a spell slot. This is the same with Speak with Dead, Speak with Animals, Enhanced Leap, Find Familiar, Disguise Self and Feather Fall
Instead of 7 paladin, do only 5 and then 2 lv in warrior to get action surge, even more attacks
So with the recent patch, are you planning on posting an update to this build brotha? I’m still interested in running a setup like this once I pick the game up. Your build videos are super noice my dude 😎🤌🏻
There is a ring and helm that lets you see it it too.
If I want to roll Oath of Vengeance instead of Oathbreaker, do you think its better to go pld 5/lock 7? The Oath thingy at lvl 7 for vengeance doesnt seem THAT good and lock at 7 gets spell slots lvl 4
I wish they let us pick Oathbreaker at character creation to RP someone that already broke their oath.
Great combo for RP reasons also.
100%. It has been really fun in game. *especially if you play with others who also like to RP.

@@lordvalinar774 That is a badass backstory. RPing with these type of games is the best route to go.
What oath did you take and what action did you take to break your oath at lv12? I'm trying to do this build but as oath of vengeance it's hard to break and im seeing you can't re spec and break oath after act 2
Sorry if these are newb questions but I've been playing this game for a week now. My main story character is a paladin. I just hit lvl 5 and had broken my oath a few lbs back.
It looks like your saying to lvl paladin until lvl 7 and at that time start the warlock build? I'm a little fuzzy in if I still need to respec to get any missed spells? It would cost me the 1k to regain my oath and then break it again. Or should I just plug in as I am and start following your guide from where I'm at now?
Edit: ahh I seenow that you suggest respecting later in the process. So I'll just keep going until pact of the blade! Nice!
"Buldar's Gate 3" i love that game xD
I’m thinking of rerolling to an oathbreaker, are there any opportunities to break oath aside from the tieflings that caught Lae’zel? I’m still at the goblin camp / Druid grove
My 9pally/3lock githyanki (Dark Urge) was amazing. He could burst damage of up to 120+ with crits when smiting, not to mention being hasted
I would sit at endgame with 23 con/22charisma (being boosted from late game gear), and it was glorious.
So 9pal/3lock over 8pal/4lock even with an extra feat?
im considering 7/5, 9/3, 8/4. what you think is best?
I didn’t need the extra feat, GWM/ASI we’re all I went for. Could’ve gone polearm master, but I’m gith, so I was using a gith-only great sword.
I preferred minimizing my lock levels, only getting blade pact then maximizing pally levels for spell slots etc. really wanted that personal haste cast

Is there a spreadsheet breakdown of this build somewhere? I just want a reference sheet to have while i play
Yes. Yes I do.
Hold person on my Shadowheart makes all humanoid interactions trivial because of my paladin who can one or twoshot every enemy I encounter except for bosses. That being said though, what do I do against non-humanoids? Those are the ones I have the most trouble with right now, because most of my cc doesnt work against them. Especially because they usually come in large hordes
I would really like to see if i can get a paladin/ necromancer wizard build to work as a Death Knight themed build too
Currently level 7 Vengeance, very hard to break my oath (shouldve taken hag hair). One thing I'll say about GWF is that it will reroll your divine smite damage as well as any weapon damage as well (everburn blade)
I did notnrealize it did Divone smite too.
I feel ya. Only way I know is to let Sazza free.
Just respec to devotion and kill some dumb kid
Taking the Hag hair revoke your oath too :)
Just let an other char do it for ya if you play multi :)
@@LordZitsu I know, I just missed my chance she got deleted by divine smite before I even knew.
I broke my oath of vengeance when I had to either fight with Nere against a ton of deegpnomes or fight all of them. I just couldn't do all and that broke my oath (having not saved some gnomes).
easiest oath to break is vengeance. Just release the goblin from the druid grove and you're oath is broken. Super early act 1 broken oath.
Want to break that oath quick? Oath of devotion and kill the owlbear cub. Broke quick.
Patch 1 will already partially break this build and it has been announced.
Getting your 3 attacks on normal action by having lvl 5 of any multi-attack class + lvl 5 warlock blades will no longer work as it is simply a bug.
So you will have 3 attacks at most by doing a crit/kill in there but not 4.
Its not worth lock 5 then imo. Be better off putting final 2 points in fighter imo
@@Blood_Ronin it very much is since Action Surge will give you +2 swings once per short rest.
Also can grab another fighting-style to possibly take up defence for the 1 extra AC
or just go with dual-wielding instead of great-weapons to always get your bonus-action attack via your offhand anyway (which again will get the bonus from aura of hate).
considering how many items there are that give bonus dice on damage 'per swing' this will result in a cacophany of different coloured numbers flying around that doesnt even rely on crits and as such is more stable.
my fighter 6 battlemaster / rogue 6 thief using dual handcrossbow for example gets to do far over 100 dmg per turn by just using drow poison and all the different items that give dmg 'per hit' as it will keep triggering quite often due to the volume of attacks and such even trigger loads of crits with close to no gamble.
no need for any spellslots either.
and regarding crits:
dont forget that in 5e (and the homebrew that is BG3) crits multiply dmg die, but not static bonusses, so a dual-wielder drow poison Pally/fighter/lock will possibly get a heckton of damage via sleep crit fishing
Great vid, most interesting to me was you toggling the weapons master on and off to perform better, I did not think of that, also how do you get that cape?
Thank you. Cape comes from being a dark urge
at what time/lvl would you suggest to break the oath or you get same paly skills regardless?
Level 4. You gain majority of them.
I've had a very similar idea even before starting my playthrough. I'm currently lvl 5 Paladin and 4 warlock. Been contemplating if I want more Paladin or Warlock. Currently pulling teard Paladin for aura of hate.
Id say go lock to level 5. That way you will unlock the 3rd extra attack and rank 3 spell slots.
@@Blood_Ronin You can actually get extra attack from several classes? I remember something about martial class extra attacks not stacking. (could warlock not being a martial class be an exception?)
@@Slackerhun the warlock extra attack from pact of blade stacks in game. *In dnd it wouldn't but right now in game it does. I am not sure if it is intended or not. With great weapon master feat you'll be at 3 base attacks and 1 bonus action attack.
Martial classes extra attack does not stack with other martial classes. So I can't day if the warlock one is intended or not.
@@Blood_RoninThan it seems actually worth it to lose 1 feat for 2 extra attacks. I'm going one handed and shield so no 4th attack for me. But that only makes 3 instead of 2 even more significant.
@@Slackerhun sword and board version is very viable as well since you get the raw 2 damage from the other fighting style (on top of the other raw damage once you get aura of hate) with the bonus of being even more tanky
hey man, tnx for your great video, mind if i ask at what level i should go oathbreaker? i couldnt find it in video
It is up to you. I went oathbreaker later in my game (more for RP reasons). I would say going oathbreaker after respeccing stats is the easiest.
tnx!@@Blood_Ronin
Don't reactions refresh on your turn anyways? So using Rebuke should be fine since you can have your new reaction be used on your turn instead for the LotFR.
Nice build. I was kinda expecting an explanation on how it affect the rolplay /world interaction as a character.
You are a drow othbreaker pacted with ancients one... Pretty scary concept, like a lord/lady of pain and death? What was the other drow paladin reaction?
Most people are rude to you. But I got Minthara to like me
What would you recommend for ilitid powers
gith are great because you get weapons that deal extra damage if you are a gith
I’m a little confused so once I get to level 5 as a paladin do I respec with withers into a warlock now?
Is pact of the blade really stacking with extra attack? I am not high enough lvl to check it yet but if it does then its a bug. Extra attacks shouldn't stack, no matter the source.
Awesome video this is what ive been waiting for but you mentions when you get pact of the blade thats when you will respec but can you comment or show how you respec? Its a little annoying because you have to regain your oath to respec then break it again after you respec. Also would like to see your stat break down after respec.
Thank you. You want 17 Charisma as main priority(with the +2) with Con should be second on the list. Everything else is up to you, but leave dex and str at at least 10.
With hag hair and 1 ABS increase you will have 20 CHA.
With hag hair and 1 ABS increase you will have 20 CHA.
Str 10
Dex 10
Con 16 (with +1)
Int 9
Wisdom 12
CHA 17 (With+2)
@@Blood_Ronin Thanks!
Grab the dark justiciar helmet (the very rare helmet, not the uncommon helm) reapers embrace, surgeons subjugation amulet, killers sweet heart and dead eye bow. Smashy smash.
When should we respec and when should we start the multiclass into Warlock please?
Sorry I didn't understand. What level should I oathbreak?
did you play the story SOLO ? AKA no companions?
You have a 99% chance of me watching this video.
Roll dices
MISS!!
Story of my life in this game
is it bad if i broke oath at lvl 5 , will i need to do anything differently if i do ?
What do you pump into when don't need str anymore in my charisma already maxed? Like cons or what says only need charisma for attacks and spells?
Con and Wisdom after CHA is maxed (CHA is only for spells and attack after getting lock pact blade)
How do you perform 3 main attacks? It will only let me do 2 of them and then I have no more actions
for anyone concerned about spending 1k to respec because of oath, why not just take warlock first? wouldn't that solve all your problems? and warlock main stat is CHA so that helps with story rolls too. Seems like a win win to me
Depends on whether or not you want Heavy Armor proficiency.
Could go pally 2 (to get smite) lock 5 then rest pally and it saves the respec as well.
@@Blood_Ronin yes, exactly. A lot of comments saying they don’t want to pay 1k for respec but when I reached the underdark, I was swimming in cash… lol
@@BaconNDCheese Money certainly isn't hard if you grab everything not nailed down. This is a carry over from Divinity Original Sin 2. Kind of immersion breaking though, that even the most absolute junk will sell for 1 gold coin.
Nice vid! Super detailed!
Also love the “thats alot of dmg”
Can you pact an existing magic item?
Pact can work on any weapon type.
@@Blood_Ronin yeah but can you cast in on a magic weapon in your inventory?
@@JapzT yet should work fine for it.
what level should u become an oathbreaker?
what spells do you run?
good stuff bud :) Hey, do you know what happens to your hag hair if you re-spec?
You still have the bonus, but the tooltips get bugged
