I feel like they will eventually add an option to share blueprints cause they have tags and descriptions for the prints. So I'm hoping this becomes a thing to like post up your prints in a database people can view.

I think he was using Stone but it doesn't really matter ultimately. Not for the building anyway.

Stone is where I would try to land in order to do Lv 2 to 3 Cortex. You don't necessarily have to upgrade to the next tier in my experience. But its not hard to do either, materials aren't that scarce.

It's a random drop I believe. I think I got it from my Beavers, they give a lot of furniture.

I been looking into this and I think they may have changed this up. I think they're sold in Greywater maybe, or find them as drops. Still figuring out all the changes from Beta. Also some are in cash shop.

It can be once you know the base design well but I felt it was easier to explain working inward for first time. But thank you for the feedback .

Bottom of ur base should just be for defense. Don't put anything down there except traps and turrets. Use pillars, as the mobs don't seem to want to attack them.
You can do this, but the sandbags are also there to prevent the mobs from just rushing in as well. The base works without any additional changes made to reinforce defense. Atleast for PVE. Obviously for PVP you could honeycomb, or if PVE defenses get harder at some point you could alter the bottom. It's really a flexible design.
I wonder, if we go with your idea of an empty ground floor, and mix it up with the strange door deviant;
Couldn’t we just support the base with pillars, remove the stairs that go up to the second floor, and add an elevator with the strange door.
Would deviants ever be able to get to the second floor, or will just they get stuck at the bottom and be butchered by the turrets?
@psychxx7146 flying monster will start shooting at ur roofs and 2nd floor walls. They don't care about pathing. And ground enemies need some path to get to it. 2nd floor with a hole in the ceiling tends to make them group by the hole.
One test is did previously and remove any ways for ground enemies to get to the machine. And they just started attacking walls. Any wall. Maybe it's intentional to break the 2nd floor, idk. But they could have changed the way ai works too.
Some of the open world enemies have slightly different attack patterns. Like the "clickers" seem to grab a lot more. More enemies have head armor.
We just got to lvl 3s and I plan to do some testing again, but waiting till the weekend.
Anyone having a problem with not being able to place ceilings close to the spiral staircase on second and upper floors? Turns red and will not allow me to place, like its colliding with stairs.
That usually means you need support for the ceiling. Build pillars around the stairs and build on them.
This is not only comprehensive and effective at explaining this but also quite entertaining.
Perfect for someone who has no idea what a “good” layout for a base, but now since I have seen this I’m less overwhelmed.

amazing game and love the build, I use this template and added my own feature color scheme and top design- but question... I have a space is FULL problem- and u have 5x more stuff inside, what am I missing? Frustrated at this problem, plz help!
Space is full? Or you ran out of objects? Cause there is a base limit of structures until you upgrade it with memetics.
The blueprint doesn't work for me when i try and build my base after creating in in Enternaland, just tell me I cannot build it, demolished my base for nothing - lost the will to keep playing after this wasn't working. Basing is one of my favorite aspects of about survival games.
Yea they slap a tag on it saying it's eternaland only when built there. It's pretty confusing and annoying but I guess it's because there's no a limit in eternaland on size. But I think a more elegant solution should be found.

in conan exiles, we solved that structural problem with 5 square foundations, one in the center and one on each side, and filled them with triangles until we had the shape we wanted. you can put 4 columns in the center and carry them all the way up. the building mechanics are almost identical. good video!
I did play some Conan but not a ton. The building in this is pretty similar though you're right. Though they have added way more since this video was made! Thank you for your feedback
Where do you get those floor tiles? I can't find them.
They removed them from base game and they're in shops in the settlements now and from drops.
Just press "L" in build mode and hide your wiring and hoses.
EDIT: I just saw when this video was made so I didn't know if this feature was available then.
I believe it was. Though I might not have known about it at the time.
@@RevBrucifer that's my thing too. A hive member told me about it just before the end of season because HE had just discovered it too. So much easier
I've used numerous variants of this design at times. You can actually start this sort of base from the center more easily, but there's a basic flaw in a base built on a hexagon (or triangles) model. Because you have a limited number of base parts due to the cap, using triangles wastes this key resource, limiting the interior space of the base overall. I'm sad about it, because I love the look and the ease of using spiral stairs inside the base instead of externally, but that's just how it is. Ofc this is assuming the concept is intended to be used in season worlds, not used solely in Eternaland.
Personally I didnt run into a limit problem once I upgraded my territory, and I did decorate and flesh it out a bit. This might change as more options become available, but you do as I point out have the flexibility to cut out sections, to resize it, to scale it how you like. Honestly you don't need TONS of room in OH so far to fit in every station and item. But it really depends on you and how much you look to scale things up or spam extra facilities for speed etc etc. But it does work for all known PVE content that requires a base. How it would open up to like a base raid in PVP is less known cause that's a more specialized concept and a minority of people care about that. You could honeycomb the bottom layer and make it more like a Rust style base, which usually work on triangles and angles for more honeycombing anyway. So it can scale into a PVP platform if you really wanted I feel. But in PVP you don't include all those facilities and extras anyways its purely for defense so you'd have more building cap.
TL;DR - You're right, and wrong, depending on the situation. Hopefully it least gave you some inspiration to figure your own stuff out, and I appreciate your feedback genuinely.
@@RevBrucifer I guess it depends on what you do in the game. While learning the game (I did not play before CBT 3) I took a lot of base damage from purification, so I put up a lot of guns and walls for defenses, Also I grew what I consider a lot of crops, generally 48 but sometimes more.
click mid mouse button on any part to copy it .. saves having to go back to the menu when swapping parts

Great design for the most part. The only part id like to figure out how to improve would be the stair landing. Having to jump over the railing could hopefully be improved aesthetically i hope.
Yea I mean you could do normal Z stairs on side or something if you wanted I imagine. Shift it around a bit.
@@RevBrucifer True but the spiral just looks better. What i finally did was, even though the double spiral staircase looks great, I removed one side of it and just made it a single spiral to the 3rd floor.

You should be able to find it in the tree if it's a memetic I'm on vacation. So I can't easily pull up game

Not even sure if base raiding is going to be apart of game. It was not in beta. You could make a base to defend territory but bases did little to defend it was mostly down to players. But we'll see if this changes or not.
@@RevBrucifer A part of me is hoping it is, but at least after the hype of Seasonal content and new progression changes that come with the 6 weekly wipes, it's brought in eventually.

You mean at the top? You can finish it off however you want, Add as many floors as you want. You just repeat the pattern or whatever. Idea was just to let you have freedom to modify to your liking.

I love the game! I already made a big base but I want to use this template to make this base instead- so my question is, how do I start fresh with a new design when I already have a base I want to remove and rebuild using this style?
There's no simple way to do it unfortunately other than smashing it all down into Materials. You can move all your chests and stuff to a platform in the corner. It's not too bad to do with Flight mode enabled. See Video I made on that if you don't know about it. Then you just whip it up and save it as a blueprint. Which I also made a video about Blueprints if you need any help with that!

It has literally everything I ever wanted from a survival MMO and yet no one seems to be talking about it
Definitely will copy your layout. Reminds me of my builds I did in Fallout76, I just hate that in most games you can only build rectangular desings, glad they seem to have a pretty decent building system
Oh I disagree! The game has a lot of hype coming in. It was heavily streamed on Twitch even by larger creators. It's just been going through a somewhat lengthy beta process. But either way WELCOME to the community and I hope you enjoy the game, and the base, as much as I have.
how far through your memetic/territory expansion nodes do you need to be able to fit this in the actual game not eternaland?

Thanks for this video was really helpful. I had no issues building in the "real world" but in Eternaland, I ran into a bug I think where I try to place down objects sometimes and get a "invalid data format in client requests" error. It's not a build limit as far as I can tell because I would delete some things and see if I can place them down again and I get the same error. For example, I placed a window down no problem. Then later on, I delete it to replace with another window and it gives me that error. Then tried the original window and same error. And it's not specific objects because I can place them down in other parts of the territory. The build isn't even too big and doesn't look any bigger than some of the builds I've seen.
I wonder if you or anyone else ran into this issue. No big deal though if it gets fixed in release. It's still beta but I was wondering if I did anything wrong so I don't run into the issue again.
I have not seen this bug myself. But I have to assume it's just a bug. I did this build along with several others just mucking around and it never happened. Sorry it was holding ya back though.
Shouldnt you use the bottom floor entirely as a honeycomb to better fend off cortex purification invasions?
You could I suppose. But I think the bigger problem later in cortex is flying units more so than ground ones. But as I said I haven't run the base up against really high Cortex yet. But using the Triangle floors does mean honeycombing can be done relatively easily. PVP or PVE.
I know this was three months ago so I'm not sure if blueprints for houses were in the game yet. Couldn't you save the first section or hexagonal side with the wall, stairs etc. and then just bring thing those in?
There was not Blueprints at the time, but yes you're right you could save it in stages. I plan to make a video on this very thing.

hmn connecting the stairs to the floor causes the floor to clip in the stairway path...or did i something wrong
Clip as in graphically or it's blocking you ? Haven't had this issue
Are the windows with sand bags more protective than a concrete wall ? The glass concerns me but I want to use it.
It's the same the sandbags just help distract the enemies from going straight at the wall

I think I got it from my beaver deviant it gives alot of furniture for some reason

Where di you find the place to build, it's hard to find a good spot
It can be tough sometimes but keep looking. Often times people move to higher tiers and you can make a base on a lower tier easier. Or you go a tier ahead.
Don't forget you can use walls as support... So internal walls

Are you EU? I've heard there's some issues with Non-US Standard keyboards and the keybinds not being easily replicated. My German friend had to find a work around.

This map I'm building on is your own personal instance called Eternaland. In the regular game world you can build ALMOST anywhere. There's some zones around major NPC locations and roads you can't.

What exactly are the mobs designed to attack?
They have a relatively simple AI to go for the Cortex unit you put down. They'll look for routes to go for to get to it, usually the shortest. Sand bags tend to help direct them a bit. Also putting your base against Water can help because they won't spawn in Water. There's a technique actually to put the Cortex in water and they can't get to it at all. But that's kind of a glitch/exploit I'd say and will be fixed I imagine.

@@RevBrucifer no worries after this comment. I figured out. I just had to move it. I built my base with a square foot print for now, as im still working on unlocking features in my novice server. Not sure ill do PVP for this to be useful
It's good for PVE base defense too when you do the Cortex stuff

It's something you unlock in the game eventually. It's not in the actual game world with everyone else.
