Jordan, never forget. You cannot have too much of what you never needed in the first place.
This is the acceptance I needed most
Last year after buying and playing through the rerelease of Hero Quest I decided I'd really rather like to own Advanced Hero Quest again. I had it as a kid but was way too young to properly appreciate it, I did love reading through the books and gawking at the artwork though.
So I hit up Ebay and bided my time until just to right lot came up, titled something like "job lot of Hero Quest games" I won the auction for a very reasonable price and came away with.
Original Hero Quest and the first 2 expansions. Expansion boxes missing.
Advanced Hero Quest, essentially complete just all the doors were broken which is very common.
And..... complete Terror in the Dark. A bit scruffy and the manual was cut up, hole punched and placed into a folder but it was the whole lot.
Then there was tons of Oldhammer mini's including many lead casts. And an entire battalion of skeletons, loads of the buggers.
Everything cost less than a complete set of Terror in the Dark normally goes for, posssibly my best Ebay win ever.
Can't believe that "Oi! Dat's My Leg!" isn't in this list. Just for the music cassette...
Someone put the music on YT and it has had me giggling!
Meanwhile, I would love to have just all the books and share them around.
Imagine building big gothic library to house all your Warhammer books, and open it up for people to read. As if the Bodleian was in Altdorf.
There’s a lot of classic GW books I still have on my long list too!
@@adampriestley7732 Well, that's better than me creating a massive hoard of PDFs to share.
@nikoladedic6623 I also have pdfs, let me know if there are any you are missing.
I can't find pdf for 4th edition undead or skaven, 5th edition Brettonia or 2nd edition Imperiall Guard.
@@adampriestley7732 Got all 4 of them.
Man, the only thing I owned in your top 10 was the damn Blue Dragon. It's long gone, probably ebay'ed it 20 years ago now for not very much, but I miss it. I had a bunch of others including a the Spined, Emperor and Black dragons, and an odd Oriental Dragon that was in a sort of vertical figure of eight. Anyway, great nostalgia, I get a massive kick out of seeing old citadel mini's and catalogue pages, I had most of the catalogues as well and they also went the way of ebay, as did my 3 Thrudd the Barbarian's and my Slambo, I miss him the most (he was also my first D&D character). Thanks for the great content as always :]
I got a finecast model of Tyrion on his horse (the newer one I think) and though finecast has it's issues, it's still a great model and I've been keeping an eye out for the Teclis model in the same style so the twins can reunite
That blue dragon looks like it would have belonged on Reading Rainbow in the US when it came out, too.
Absolutely!
I have everything ever released for Man O War, and its one of my favorites. Just love every aspect of it, from the fluff to how the rules are written, as well as the ship templates. No two games are ever the same.
I was a Man O War fan too. I had the two expansion sets and, in a tale as old as time, came back from uni to find my mum had binned them... along with the Dark Elf fleet. I still wistfully mourn them!
I love this! There are some models I'd love to own myself, some models I love to hate and some models I've never even heard of. Always enlightening.
For me it's trying to get a full unit of Juan Diaz Daemonettes for my slaanesh army, I see them pop up here and there for £15-£20 a model, which has always been a bit rich for my blood. I did recently manage to get a new, in box set of metal repentia which I paid pretty dearly for. Other than that it's the forge world fimir models I'd like to get a full set of. I've also been after a full original immolator and repressor, I see both pop up from time to time but often incomplete, usually it's the immolator lacking the plastic dome.
lol
It's ok to think about a giant ALL THE TIME 😄
Great vid
The giant!!!! I'd forgotten about that, I remember staring at that for hours wanting. I also nearly spent my pocket money the other day buying Terror in the dark off ebay but chickened out at the end, perhaps next time.
It’s very easy to imagine spending a lot of cash to finally own Terror in the Dark! But sometimes reason must prevail!
Very cool list, some of those items I had never heard of before. I have a nicely painted marauder giant which is a valued part of my collection. I love all of the marauder stuff
Great video.
I recently picked up a couple of my Grail minis; the Eldar Bonesinger, and the Forgeworld large scale Asurmen model.
I also covet the Terror in the Dark expansion to Advanced Heroequest. I recently fished my copy of Advanced Heroequest out of my parents loft, and was delighted to find lots of extra old Skaven metal minis in the box, although there were quite a few of the orginal plastic skaven from the box missing, and many of the henchmen had lost their halberd tips.
I have the Marauder Giant, and dug it out of a storage locker over Summer for it to stomp the fields of the Old World once again when the new game comes out! All the glue had perished so it is presently in chunky lead pieces waiting to be reassembled, and some of the paint needs a little touching up, but he's still a thing of beauty!
Agree!
I once compiled a list of the 100 RPG/wargame rulebooks/box sets I most wanted and spent the next ten years trying to get hold of one each month (1st ed Space Hulk and the Realm of Chaos books required saving up over multiple months). The last thing I got hold of was the hardcover omnibus of 1st-ed Necromunda.
Great vid as always man. I'm sure you will have seen this, but I can't get enough of Paul Robins' 1991 Golden Demon-winning Dwarf Juggernaut conversion. When I was a lad seeing photos of that thing just absolutely captivated my imagination. And there is no way that it wasn't a major source of inspiration for the design of the Marienburg Landship!
I didn’t even realise! That’s actually incredible!
@@jordansorcery I actually bagged a juggernaut at a decent price not too long ago. The main deck piece on its own weighs more than the entire Marienburg Landship. It's literally kilos of lead! At some point I will pluck up the courage to make the juggernaut versus landship diorama of my dreams. I also got the blue dragon cheaply by buying the dragon and books separately from the sorceress :)
Well, my grails are rather "mid-hammery", being the Warrior Priest from the original Warhammer Quest (I had him long time ago), the FW marienburg Landship, and the 4 horse pulled Wood Elf Chariot from 3rd edition mostly making up the top 3
Some dynamite stuff in that list! The landship was a big one for me, I’m glad to have secured one earlier this year!
I assume the Old World release will bring back all that plastic scenery, even if only for a month or so
I very much hope so!
I regret to this day selling my Battlefleet Gothic boxed set. I know they’re not rare, but they are quite expensive now. I just have a load of nostalgia for this!
My top ten...
#1 :: The Citadel Giant (sculpted by the Perry bros.)
#2 through #10 :: see #1
Understandable! The Citadel Giant is a stunner. The Marauder one was just so prevalent during my early gaming days that it has left a massive nostalgia impact!
@@jordansorcery Oh, I also love the Marauder giant. But I already have two of those. 😉
Damn. Remember so many of these. I wouldn't mind re-buying advanced Heroquest,, though Blackstone Fortress is a constant temptation (though the price the expansions command...)
Space Hulk is another game that I'd like that I missed out on.
My GW Grail is a set of Death Guard Havocs. They appeared in only one catalogue, and then were never mentioned again. Even on Lexicanum. And I never seem to catch them on sale
I have the dwarf juggernaut. My dad bought it for me from a car boot sale when i was a kid. This was about 25 years ago and it was an old model even then.
Hey atleast the marauder giant is coming back to made to order :D
My GW want list is getting bigger every day... each time I buy something, 2 more items pop up!
Always the way!
One of my favs is the 1987 Fury of Dracula.
Keep an eye on the channel this month…
I love this channel, I'm more a tabletop gamer myself but would love some of the old GW board game releases like Curse of the Mummys Tomb, Railway Rivals and Kings and Things. So much nostalia and although I've managed to keep ... well, repurchase, the classics like Talisman 2nd Ed, Battlecars and Fury of Dracula some of the more obscure titles have always eluded me.
KROOTS!
Dude, those dragons! I’d totally forgotten I had the Spine one… they were all great.
Personally I loved the (forgive me if I remember this inaccurately) Greater Chaos daemons, especially the Nurgle & Slaanesh ones
Great stuff
Also: that John Blanche artwork ❤
Had a Dwarf Juggernaut - no idea what happened to it :( Really want another one. I''m just finishing up an Eldar project in CAD, then I might have to see if I can sketch one up...
When ManOWar got axed I kind of went crazy and bought every manowar rule set and miniature I could lay hands on. The stuff was on sale and people were dumping it from collections. I was able to get everything in abundance, much NIB. I have something like 300 metal ships as well as all the monsters flyers etc. That game needs an app. It was the zenith of token mechanics. Great fun but card and token mgmnt was a freaking nightmare.
Incredible collection. When the weather is right I love playing some Man O’ War
Dude I swear I have one of those dragons in my mums attic, I'll have a dig around next time I am over there
A wonderful list, sir, and good luck in all your quests!
For my part, I found my GW holy grail back in 2018. As an avid collector of superhero rpgs, I had always wanted to land a copy of Golden Heroes, and I finally stumbled across one at flea market at a gaming convention here in California. It was missing the dice and scuffed up, but the box was intact and it contained not only the core books, but as far as my research tells me the entirety of the support material for it as well; The Supervisor's Kit and the adventures Legacy of Eagles and Queen Victoria and the Holy Grail...the significance of the latter title is not lost upon me. And all of that paid for with a twenty.
I’ve not really looked into Golden Heroes (yet!), but its unique place in GW history makes me want to learn more about it!
@@jordansorcery I think it's worth looking into for sure. There's a lot of unique, almost meta-elements to the game's system and terminology. Combat time, for instance, is measured in frames, as if coaxing the players to imagine their battle happening directly on the pages of a comic book. A lot of creativity and imagination mixed in with the old school clunkiness one might expect of systems of that era. I'd LOVE to hear your take on it one day.
The marauder giant is one that I would also love to have. It's not super rare, but there's a demand for it, so it often ends up costing more than I feel I can justify getting it for (even if I could afford it).
Another model I would absolutely love to own is the 1994 Zombie Dragon. I'm not too big of a fan of a lot of GW Dragon models, particularly not those of that era, but the zombie dragon has always appealed to me.
Fascinating list! I always wanted sculpts of Russ Nicholson’s artwork, but little seemed to be done by games workshop…
I'm currently trying to collect all things Nurgle that FW ever made. I'm slowly getting closer but I fear that the last piece will probably be the great (and incredible expensive) Tamurkhan.
For me, the entire FW range to support the Tamurkhan book was simply magnificent
Great list dude! 🤌
Cheers mate!
Great list! Battle for Armageddon & Chaos Attacks for me!
I always wanted the empire war wagon and and the old school 40k Ork battle wagon
That War Wagon is a thing of beauty!
I am looking out for the Warhammer Historical WW1 supplement Over the Top. Only one i could fine was going for $500
The Blue Dragon reminds me of one of my favourite childhood (and now) movies - Flight of Dragons 😊
Over the years I gathered every Genestealer miniature released save for one - the very first pewter one. The prices on Ebay are obscene but one day...
Recasts do good Knarlocs. You can get them for $26 USD. Youll probably never find geniune ones ever again except at a exhorbaint price.
3d printer goes brrrrrr
Oh how times have changed.. I tried to sell my marauder giant 20yrs ago on EBay for @£20 but no takers! I always preferred the AD&D take on giants. My prized possession is a painted Spined dragon named Skie. Got for a discount in the 80s as I blagged 2 weeks school work experience at a Games Workshop store! Now if you see a first edition Yaskin Forit let me know!
Have and had a few of those over the years (including the hive city tile). The only one i'm sure is still in my stored collection in the Giant though
Most of what I wanted as a kid has a modern equivalent so I'm mostly ok... I would like a classic Blood Angels Mephiston though, when I went to buy him as a kid I didn't know how to pronounce his name so said it wrong to the GW store guy who didn't know what I was talking about... I honestly don't remember if I ended up buying it (I think my childhood warhammer minis are in a shoebox half a world away), just the embarrassment of that moment still haunts me lol.
My grail at the minute is a first edition Space Hulk that doesn’t cost more than it does to insure my car… Still my biggest regret in the hobby is selling my childhood copy and the Deathwing expansion before I left on a failed trip to Australia…
That’s a fine grail indeed! Love me some Space Hulk
Wonderful video! I very much like your channel and all about Oldhammer. I'd love to have the old Citadel Giant from 1982/83, at least I got a Citadel Imperial Dragon (aka Chicken Dragon)...
You have the Imperial Dragon?! Incredible! Is it as magnificent as it seems?
Great top pick!
It’s such a delightful mini
For me it would definitely have to be the gotrek and felix black library models and diorama. All of those characters are very near and dear to my heart.
Like you, my list is much longer. A lot of it is more recent releases, so I went through my list and narrowed it down to the more “classic” wants…
WHQ: Catacombs of Terror expansion
Talisman 3e Minis: Dragon, Sorceress, Astronomer
Cursed Company undead unit
Drunken Dwarfs (4 pack)
Any era appropriate minis to fill out my WHQ monster tables
Any classic HeroQuest expansions
I actually have No1 on your list, but it isn't for sale as I love it too much, good choice though!
Keep it secret, keep it safe!
Over the last three years I’ve been collecting the big box games from GW that came out in the 80’s and 90’s. AHQ, ASC, Space Hulk and it’s expansions, Blood Bowl and DungeonBowl, ManoWar,Necromunda, Warhammer Quest. I have all of those now and am currently waiting for Dark Future to arrive that I bought off EBay this week. But the one that is proving hard to get is Mordheim. I REALLY want that one. Oh and Gorkamorka too one day
That’s a very nice collection to have!
This was really entertaining.
1: Talisman 2nd ed Dragons expansion. Mail Order only I think? Got all the others as they came out and didn'tknow about this until the internet. Know its supposed to be rubbish, but!
2: Slaughter Margin miniatures set - I have a few random ones of these that I think I got in a early/mid 90s GW sale where there was just a tub of loose lead to rummage through. I have about 2/3rds to 3/4s of the Dredd minis, but getting that would really make a dent!
3: Great Spined dragon - so Blanchey it hurts.
4: Curse of the Mummy's Tomb (I understand its also a bit rubbish, but would complete my bookshelf games)
5: Ratspike! Saw this at a carboot, and a fraction of a second later a hand swooped it up away from me!
Some amazing things in that list. I really want that Marauder Giant, completely regret selling my copy of Advanced Heroquest, and completely forgot the FW Warhammer Forge Coaching Inn, I really want that right now, need that right now 😆.
Great video.
Cheers Stu. Be wary of those Warhammer Coaching Inns, there’s either a chaos cult in the basement or it’ll cost you £500 on eBay!
@@jordansorcery 🙂
That's one of the reasons I hardly ever sell anything. Except that long ago I sold both of my Realms of Chaos books and I regret it fairly frequently.
I completely agree about the Kroot. I look at the old Chapter Approved Kroot Mercenaries conversions all the time. I'd love to someday have Knarloc Riders and Greater Knarlocs. I don't care if my bird people are immediately removed from the board, they're just too cool.
You want 3 Great Knarlok. One for each load out...
Wish I still had my kaleb daark
Theres a couple of the witchfate tors on Troll Trader at the moment.
I don't know if the prices are reasonable though...
I am not actively trying to get them, but I always liked the old-school sculpts for the Skaven War Machines, like the Screaming Bell. The newer sculpts are okay but I really like the old ones.
The earlier war machines are fantastic!
There was one of those towers on ebay for an actual reasonable amount the other day believe it or not
Dark Future and Space Fleet for games. For miniatures I regret not buying Skaven for warmaster. The dragon I seek is the Serpentine Dragon. The sleek, pointy one. Bought what I thought was it and got the quite awesome Tom Meier sculpted blue dragon. Which is similar but not the one.
It's not even rare, but just sort of hard to get a hold of for a reasonable price due to them only selling the reprints AT Warhammer World, but I've wanted the Realm of Chaos Slaves to Darkness book for a looong time. I've had the Lost and the Damned book since the 90's but never ran across Slaves to Darkness. I've really wanted to complete that set for a long time. A copy of Warhammer Siege with the Ian Miller cover as well.
Tau totally need more representation in the Coalition. Unfortunately, much like Death Korps of Krieg, it seems their existence on tabletop will be relegated to the Kill Team box. Unlike the DKoK though, that box is far less generic line infantry in terms of sculpts. Keep up the good work btw.
Id love to have the goblin troll game trilogy. Oi dats my leg, goblins in the pantry and kerslpat. I thiiiiink that's the name of the 3rd game.
Oh and im still looking for the wizard with a machine gun ...
Depending on how you look at it, you’re in luck - there’s actually 4 to collect: Oi Dat’s My Leg, Hungry Troll and the Gobbos, Trolls in the Pantry, and Squelch!
@@jordansorcery ohhh i didn't know that! I'd better write em down. Thank you
My collection is already more than I'll be able to paint before the grave, but... I own a copy of Rogue Trader, WFB 3rd ed., Slaves to Darkness but not the Lost and the Damned. I was at Warhammer World a couple months ago for a once in a lifetime pilgrimage to Nottingham and they were sold out of Lost and the Damned reprints. D'oh! >.< Someday I hope to secure a copy. Fingers crossed.
I was given (yes....given) a copy of Terror in the dark. All there but the box so sadly not "compleate" but Im not complaining. Going to get around to playing it at some point.
For me the Marauder giant is the definitive giant and I hope one day I will also own one.
Same!
for me, it would be a copy of one of one of Oldhammer editions of Fantasy, Reaper (if it counts) or any of the Doctor Who stuff they did, though I'd proberly just be happy finishing off my battle at skull pass collection.
Brilliant all round!
Witchfate Tor, the mojo dojo casa house of Warhammer fantasy
Incredibly accurate
I have Plague Fleet and Sea of Blood and would be willing to part with them, but they are not in box anymore (it’s all tossed in the main Man o War box). I also have a selection of minis including the sea monsters and flyers.
The Dread Saurian and Chaos Mammoth are my biggest. Both are so glorious.
What's the dragon that you first lamented?
I’d love the WHQ95 complete expansions. But instead I’ve bought the minis and am DIY’ing the rest of the contents. It will have to do!
I’ve got the inverse: the expansion components, but not the minis - one of my long projects!
Omg I had the blue dragon
Arbaal the Undeafed.
"but heroquest predated me" Gee thanks for making me feel OLD Jordan! I was at my first year of university when the advanced hero quest expansion came out lol. Great video
I have WFB starter boxes for 5th, 6th, and 7th but Isle of Blood has eluded me so far. There are some on E-Bay but they are out of my price range. Here's to hoping it's re-released with Old World. Another I wish I had was Space Crusade, I have a few of the chaos androids which have made their way into my Necron army. I'd also like to find a Manowar set.
I'm still waiting for the day I can get the original release of Bugman's rangers, one day...
Personally I'd love a Great Spined Dragon, but I've seen the prices they go for. A friend still has the one he got in the early 90s, partially built and painted, but i told him the truth about its value so it'll probably forever be out of my reach...
I have a still in blister copy of that chaos sorcerer id be happy to trade
11:14 holy jeez was that a Through the Dragon's Eye reference!?
Hard to resist putting one in every video tbh!
See… I’ve already noticed this with book club, but it appears your having a ‘Techmoan effect’.
Techmoan is a retro tech tuber that often makes video about a thing and then that thing blows up in price and demand. I saw the same thing happen with drachenfels once you had the first book club wrapped up. And with ignorant armies too…… might just wanna hush up Jordan… 🤣🤫 groovy vid as per old chap!
Next video is just a list of things I have available to sell
I traded a plastic Trygon/Mawlock kit for the Kroot Bird. My wife called me a fool. I thought the bird was larger, but it is the size of a U.S. Quarter Dollar.
Definitely one of those ‘little’ joys!
Before watching I predict I have had at least 3 on your list and have probably sold them in the last year.
How’d you do?
@jordansorcery Almost! I have the warhammer giant (Ebay buy not in great condition) I may still have the chaos sorcerer 🤔. I was close on the witchfate tor, I have the fortified Manor and skullvane manse which you showed. I'll Trump that with the forgeworld warhammer coaching inn which I've had from new and is probably the rarest scenery of them all 😁
That coaching inn is a mighty fine piece, you’ve done well keeping hold of that!
@@jordansorcery cheers. Keep up the great work.
How much would you pay for a Marauder giant?
Terror in the Dark was incredible! I never successfully completed the campaign and it’s a huge regret!
My brother in law has a copy of the Blood Royale board game in very good condition. Are you familiar with it?
I’m familiar with it, but haven’t played it. Hopefully one day though!
How much am I in trouble for hacking away the very rare Elspeth's saddle to fit a Dark Elf Witchlord? 😂
The old Warhammer Forge terrain is great, I also try to pick up a lot of the old imperial armour tanks from that period when they come up on ebay too.
Fingers crossed they bring back the Chaos War Mammoth!
Would love to see the mammoth return! As for the Elspeth - in my book a mini used in a conversion is still fulfilling its gaming destiny!
I've got Elspeth von Draken on sprue in FW bag if you're interested ;-)
Oh, that is tempting! Drop me an email (itsjordansorcery at gmail) if that’s okay and we can chat!
Do you happen to have a PO box or such where someone could mail one of these pieces? (No spoilers 😉
I do indeed! Feel free to drop me an email and I’ll share the details: itsjordansorcery (at) gmail (dot) com
I made my dream come true and bought a part of a classic old skaven army still need a deamon....... and Yes its your faught with your damm skaven video you now own me a lot of money XD
The Great Horned Rat works through me
@@jordansorcery Seems to be ^^
My biggest regret is Shadows over Hammeral. I didn't buy it because it was lacking Slaanesh both in the main game and in the extended enemy cards, which is my main faction in... everything really.
But by the time I played it as a DM and discovered the plot twist at the end, it was too late and I couldn't buy it anymore.
Have plague fleet in shrink and 2 copies of sea of blood.
Is Trish Carden the same person as Trish Morrison?
That’s right, she goes by Trish Carden now
@@jordansorcery thanks for the information. I love all her miniatures.
Out of interest, which do you think had the best ruleset, and has the most potential for future games? Adv Heroquest is almost a RPG.
Heroquest
Adv Heroquest
Warhammer Quest
Silver Tower
Blackstone fortress
Hello, Jordan.
Hello!
Heya if you ever get space for the migthy fortress and fancy it just hmu i wouldnt mind sending it your way😊😊😊
That chaos sorcerer came out in the early 2000s not 1996. Source, I worked for GW at the time and have a handful of them still in the blister. I'm in the USA though so not much help to you unfortunately.
COOOOOOOOOOOL
