    Would this gun perform well with BH209? I ask simply for legality sakes as smokeless is not permitted in MI during muzzleloader season.

      Yes, it will. I have sold many to guys in MI. and they use BH209 in them.

    Once this is converted to a muzzleloader are you able to remove the breech plug and shoot 45-70 or is it permanently a muzzleloader?

    Careful, just saw a video on a converted V2 where he double loaded on accident. It Blew the gun apart forearm was in a thousand tiny pieces. He said only thing that saved serious injury was he did not have hand on the forearm like shown in this video.

    Just so I understand....I buy the black powder rifle and only send you the barrel for conversion? you install the muzzle break, breech plug and add the accessories and that's it??

    • @jeffhankins6616
      @jeffhankins6616  5 років тому +2

      This is not a black powder rifle. It is a center fire rifle chambered in 45/70, I then install a breech plug and you now have a muzzle loader. And yes I can hook you up with everything you need.

      The 45/70 bore is .450, the grove is .458. the 45 caliber pistol bore is usually .442 with a grove of .450, so we shoot pistol caliber bullets from our rifle caliber barrels. They do require some sizing down in diameter to get them to fit in the barrel. We call these land riders.

    I know there must be advantages to this conversion that I'm not totally clear on, because you seem like a sharp mind. Is it better powder burn with the priming system? Less cost because you don't need cartridges? I don't think it would be legal for muzzle loading season or at least it wouldn't appear to the fish cops on first blush, because it looks like a center fire rifle & uses smokeless powder. Where would I get more info on the advantages of this system? I've seen a few of your video's and haven't seen it explained. Thanks :)

      tblbaby it really comes down to ease of use and you local laws. In Missouri, as long as it can only be loaded from the muzzle, it's legal for muzzleloader season. The HIS priming system is more consistent than 209s or other primer systems. Smokeless powder is not corrosive like blackpowder and BP substitutes, so cleaning is easier but also not as necessary.

    Hey Jeff, I was wondering if the CVA Scout has a larger diameter at the breech than the T/C Encore?
