Makes me miss my 72 red and white Bus. Great mph with a tailwind. Not so with a headwind. Moved from Coast Guard Airstation Traverse City Michigan to Airstation Miami Florida in mine with my ex and our 1 year old daughter and everywhere we'd stop to eat she'd immediately wake up and pitch a fit so we had to leave the motor running and take turns eating. Left Michigan with a blizzard behind us so we got really good mph.
Great to see the truck in person and meet you at OCTO. I was the guy that introduced Herman the "German" (as he called himself) to you who was looking for an early camper. There actually was a very late SO-34 in the swap at The Classic show(no interior though). 35k no interior. How about that very impressive SWR kombi seriously detailed down to the primer interior from the divider back and the factory safaris. It was at RVA too. IMPRESSIVE. Not much was found in the swap except the one-year-only dist/carb/short 12v coil for my '67 bug I'm putting back to correct. Thanks for the videos as usual. Fun to recap the experience.
Oh yea i thought that might be you ha ha. an Early SO model without rust is almost impossible. Early campers are always rusty even around here. the rack and hatch made them almost impossible to fit inside the garage. unless they took the rack off and even at that the bar on the old doors would hit the roof hatch.
