I'm pretty sure the Japanese New Year tradition where you give kids an envelope with money is pretty common in other Asian countries; specifically China.
In Lunar New Year, all the kids get red envelopes full of money from relatives; especially their grandparents.
So funny with Gin and Tsukky visibly arguing on loaning the other money, to the point the rest of the gang is second hand embarrassed for them. 😆
Also, quite the lewd joke describing how Tsukky's ass felt, ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛) it's no wonder she knocked his balls off in compensation.
I wonder if the implication is that Eli is younger than Gin, or Takasugi. Cause from what I understand in the Joi Patriot age chart by the series end, Sakamoto is the oldest, second oldest is Gin (if it is the case), third is Takasugi, and Zura is actually the youngest.
I kind of thought Gintoki's IOU reveal for Kagura was going to be "a coupon for Sukonbu (pickled seaweed)".
And I bet Sougo has places where he stashes those bazookas around Kabukichou, so maybe he told Shin once as a favor in the past. (I wouldn't put it pass this guy illegally storing government weapons for kicks/backup).
Also, if Gin had just given them their New Year's money instead of screwing with them, I feel like it probably would have ended in a sweet way.
Because when him and the kids go out to have a nice meal to celebrate the holiday, there was some endearing moments that played out; including the rare and genuine smile Gintoki gives when he feels content and happy to be with other people.
But a troll episode is a troll episode in the end. 😂
I loved fhe way Shinpachi screamed "She threw up in front of God!!" When Kagura starts to hurl in the church instead of apologizing. 😂
I'm oretty sure i was caught up with Gintama when they were reaching this point of uncertainty of the anime's fate.
And while it was a little sad to think about the possibility of the anime potentially never coming back, I was somehow okay with it.
Maybe because the series always committed to making the experience with the series such a fun ride that i was willing to accept whatever was the future.
But boy, am I sure glad the studio never gave up on this cast and Gorilla; particularly with the inevitable payoffs that show even a seemingly chaotic mess of idiots, parodies, and dirty jokes can create a series that can easily be on par with many top tier series in storytelling.
And you guya definitely coming down to the wire fast. o(*≧▽≦)ツ
And speaking of which, I'll see where I left off on the watch order list I made for you to see if i cant help contribute again.
Yeah, tbf Slumdog Millionaire was going against pretty slim competition at the time. And honestly it wasn't that bad a movie when I think about it.
Sure, I haven't watched it in years after only watching it once or twice, but it did have some moments that were pretty good; at least from what I remembered.
But I'd properly watch this episode more than the movie itself. Mad so always makes things more fun. 😆
The next arc kintama arc start right after the thorny arc in the manga. It make things make sense in the start.
Courtesan arc is one of my favorite arc and pretty high rated loved arc by fans so I’m excited for you guys to watch it!!
I can't wait for it either! It's the one of the arcs I've seen people bring up before I look away to make sure I don't get spoiled
Yeah, if there was a place like a China Town or Little Tokyo closer to me selling authentic traditional furniture for a Belgian, I'd absolutely get one, too.
They just look so comfy and one of the few seating areas I'd be willing to sit near the floor for. And I think even in the summer they're supposedly a nice little space to hang around, cause you just turn off the heater and remove the quilt.
Honestly ita a cute and funny episode that seems like Sorachi's metaphorical comment on Kotatsu, which strangely feels relatable in this day and age where you want to laze about. 😆
It's also great how well Gintama implements comments/jokes on LGBTQA+ in media without being offensive.
Other than whatever the mess was fhat was episode 88(which by coincidence where the Freak had his first demerit as a character), most that talk about it or make a joke that are tasteful and subtle enough to age well.
there is also a jump festa special 2014 episode to watch maybe after the movie and before the new season which is very entertaining
I'll see if I can find it so I can add it for an after the movie thing to see! I've tried looking for some of the jump festa stuff in the past and it's been a bit annoying to find but I think I should be able to find it.
Gintama is so funny with the episodes that make NO sense and it’s just the whole cast doing some shit
It really is some next level character work at play!
Yeeeah, as much as I want to be open-minded to both anime and fans alike, its disappointing how most things that are influenced is dictated by what is hype and mainstream.
The last Jump Star game really was just a roster of what people in the West knew and liked at the time, which is so blase and generic after you get over the "Wow i know them!"
