Hello guys, I enjoyed your review I have just started to play this game, we are only at the end of round one! I bought the game retail and had zero knowledge about the game, I didn't know anything about the kickstarter campaign or anything. I didn't like the layout of the rulebook as trying to learn the game from the rulebook with zero knowledge and not having watched any tutorials or anything was difficult. I agree with you that the pages of game concepts before the actual rules don't help at all. It would be better to have everything in one place. I don't think the game is "heavier" than 1862 but I found this easier to learn from the rulebook.
You two are doing this really great. I feel like your view on a game fits eell to minole so it helps me to find a new board game. Now I am thinking about Barrage or Scythe
What I'll remember from your review, this game deserves a "CANNON OF FUN !" award and that you need to "git gud" to win. I'll wait on intrafin for the French version, hopefully they will have fix the issues with the components by then. I'm really charmed by the gameplay, one of the game I'm the most excited to get :)
2 rules, I didn't find in the rulebook: When a contract allow you to build a free conduit, it is up to the size printed on the tile (not only the exact size). When a contract allow you to build a "free" powerhouse or a base barrage, you have to pay 3 coins to build on a red spot.
BoardGameGuru I built in the mountains, which itself was a great move, but not in the very highest (paying) space, so I was blocked in the middle of the game and had no backup strategy.
played advanced version last night amd my my did I get sanked in overwhelming options. came last with only 54 points (first one had 110ish(?) aside from this, I didn't like the game that much because everyone can screw eachother too often, or you can help others when your water passes on. not sure I will be interested in playing again. too much interaction I guess

For building the free buildings - you have to build them in free spots. If I remember the rules, you can't pay to put them in the red bordered spots.
If you take the plastic middle of the wheels out and flip over the arms then put the plastic middle back in they work better.
Thanks for the tip! 😁
What did you do wrong in the first action Sunniva? I built in the mountains, and that messed me up for the whole game!
