That goose also tried to beat me up! That Hadrian's wall section is iconic but it has no mercy on your legs or lungs! I did really enjoy it, had rain sweeping down the valley so it was very dynamic. I was so happy to see the pennine turn off though!

Hello Christina, good milage today (24) the room looks very comfortable I bet you slept well. I never tire of the way you present your video, it is as if we are with you all the way. Best Wishes. Andrew.
Excellent effort and great determination. Hope you had a relaxing evening and recharged your body for the next day. Thank goodness not all trails are as boggy as the Pennine way, but the Cape wrath trail has its moments 😅
Hi Christina I was at thirwall castle just last week and stayed in a very nice youth hostel called the sill, it has private rooms with shower and toilet and communal rooms, kitchen, lounge room and a pub next door. It is modern and very nice so if you intend doing hadrians wall it is a good place to rest up, oh and it also does breakfast and evening meals.👍 all the best on your trail david
Yours is the First Pennine Way Hike I have watch since the idiots chopped down the Scyamore tree at Scyamore Gap last year. It does not look the same as I remember it and that saddens me. The Tree was there for hundreds of year and was even in the Kevin Costner film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Now you get the chance to walk through some pleasant Woodland (even if it is a man made Forrest.
You thought of me! I feel like you’ve told Hadrian’s Wall that I am coming one day 😂 I can’t wait. But I really didn’t realize it was so hilly! It looks open and like gentle rolling hills. Gotta get to working out! I just hope I won’t get BOGGED down. That looks rough. That castle was awesome, though! Sleep well, Bobo!
@ That was an excellent view of the wall, though! You did look tired at the end of that day. And you’re in much better shape than I am. I may have to find a Charles or a Margaret to drag me to camp. Time to start training harder!
Well...i was tired cause i did a massive 24 miles...10 miles on the Hadriians Wall, the rest on the Pennine Way. When youre doing Hadrians Wall, you can take your time and do just 10 miles a day. There are museums, castles, points of interests abd small villages to explore
There is a bothy in the woods a few miles after Hadrian's Wall. I slept there when I did the PW and met a guy from the German Army on down time doing the Way too. We swapped beer for whisky and had a good chat through the evening - all part of the experience. That 24 miles was an amazing shift 💪. Keep on keeping on!
The bothy is at Houghtongreen just beyond the wall through the forest. I hung my food from the rafters but a mouse still managed to eat through my rucksack side pocket due to a forgotten chocolate wrapper from an earlier snack 😭!
The reason for the fireworks is because every November 5th we Celebrate Guy Fawkes Night, Guy Fawkes tried and failed to Blow Up Parliment in London in the late 1600s. Tony in Essex
If you would like a suggestion for your quest to complete all of the UK's trails, you could combine The Shipwrights Way and North Downs Way. The Shipwrights goes from Portsmouth to the village of Bentley (50 miles) and The North Downs Way goes from Farnham to Dover (153 miles) Farnham and Bentley are only a few miles apart and are connected by train or footpaths.
@@NeilUpfold oh! Never heard of the Shipwrights Way. Thank you for the suggestion. I do like Dover Castle i went there 2017. So this is a great suggestion
@hikersheep I know of the Shipwrights Way because it passes through the town where we live and it was only established within the last decade or so. It reflects the link between the oak trees from Alice Holt forest at Bentley that were used for shipbuilding during Tudor times at Portsmouth. It's only a short distance to link up with the North Downs Way so you can do Dover to Portsmouth or vice versa.
That field near shitlington crags/mast was the scene of my first cow attack lol, luckily I had fell running shoes on. @@Nate1975 indeed, I was charged at 3 times that day, my GPS said I'd walked 34 miles, I spent most of the day taking detours to avoid the cows on the actual PW path.
