I'm absolutely loving my recently purchased Sadowsky MetroLine VJ4. It's a dark blue colour with a morado fretboard, and is such a wonderful instrument to play. Bought it from George at Bass Gear Direct in Australia. Build quality and attention to detail is out of this world.
Amazing video and answers ! Q= why you don't use .022 value capacitor on your pre amp circuit for Jaco bark .?? Q= why your single coils (Will Lee model ) "sound better "cut in the mix" - they have more power and more character -than your split single coils? Greetings from Greece !! Tom
Curious if the standard pickups on the Metro Express are the same as the Single coil ones used on the upper level instruments or if they are specific to the Metro Express? Thanks.
I would very much like to know why Roger settled on the 12" fretboard radius? from traditional Fender of around 9.5" to some makers going as flat as a 20" radius, what was magical about making all sadowsky basses with a 12" fretboard radius? thanks a lot!
Could you please confirm that the new metro express jj 5 have a 18mm bridge spacing as standard? I saw some on sale here in Aus but they are showing 19mm spacing.
We're correcting our initial comment (we apologize for wrong information): Yes, bridge spacing varies on the MetroLine and MasterBuilt instruments. Regular models have 20 mm for 4-Strings & 19 mm for 5-Strings. The exceptions are our MJ & M models, which have 19 mm for 4-Strings & 18 mm for 5-String. All MetroExpress 5-String Sadowsky basses have a standard 18 mm string spacing at the bridge. For 4-Srings it is 19mm. Hope this was helpful.
Great moment .Thank you guys !
Great interview, thanks Roger and Nico!
Thank You.
Glad I was able to get one of the Ltd Jason Newsted basses. 👍🏼

Great stuff, never had a chance to play a Sadowsky but would be awesome to see a hybrid sadowsky/warwick.
Sadowsky Thumb or vice versa.
Thanks for sharing 🙏

Roger, do you think you will ever have a MetroExpress with the VTC from the factory? I would pay more for that, rather than modifying it. Thank you!

@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial is that with metro express only? I have a metroline 5 and it has 19mm spacing
Have you ever considered doing jazz bass pick ups with a Music Man style pick up in between them like Artelia Z?
