A lot of younger people couldn't handle season 4, because it's not longer the Marvel/LOTR-like hero trope of good fighting evil. AoT actually tells it in every season, how foolish this is, but many didn't listened and simply enjoyed the action, so it's a surprised Pikachu in season 4 when its no longer background philosophy but actually shown on the screen. Armin literally says in the first season that they have to become monsters or they will loose (and in this case it literally would mean death of them all).

i know the story is absolutely amazing but i just can't get over the music, no other show has score as great as attack on titan. Especially in season 4, they really cooked with their music. In last episode, the way music matched with canonfire, the way music made zeke's entrance epic. This show really is something else. And soo many marleyans dying is just a cherry on top, this and last episode are just beautiful, couldn't stop grinning the entire time I watched this lol. Mappa really did justice with the design of the new eren's titan, it just looks 100 times better, a trule manace.

They were kid and were made into monsters by marley's cruelty.
Gabi , falco zofia and the other kids are warriors, they know war, they already kill people... they know what's going on.

In Season 1 they struggled really hard to deal with Annie's Female Titan, but now here they are fighting 3 intelligent titans at the same time and kicking their asses.
As for Jean, he hesitated in the past when they were dealing with Kenny, he promised to his friends and himself that he wouldn't hesitate anymore when it mattered. So he took the shot toward Falco due to that past experience.

The genius of Iseyama to disorient us with the time skip/new location/new characters, get us to empathize with them, then bring back “our” guys for a brutal battle… I think if you watch other reactions you’ll see people also veering from “hell yeah Scouts, fuck em up!” to “this is sad and awful” to “I can’t process this” all within the space of a single scene. Felt upset with everything the first few episodes, until the purpose of the narrative hit hard. So... it's okay, Haylo, what you are feeling is a good sign. And don't pay attention to the detractors, guys, this season is AOT reaching its peak, best anti-war narrative ever written !

It's crazy how quickly the battle changed just because Galliard could not keep himself under control. Marley had three Titans on the offensive (Beast, Cart and Jaw) with the Beast creating havoc and Cart and Jaw protecting him, one Titan beaten (War Hammer) and one AWOL (Armoured). Moreover, they had reinforcements coming in from the seas. Then, suddenly Armin obliterates all the reinforcements by dropping a nuke on them. This makes Galliard angry who breaks formation leaving the Beast and Cart vulnerable. Levi takes down the Beast while Jean and Sasha take down the Cart. The Jaw, now all on its own, is handled by Mikasa and Eren and is then used to KO the War Hammer. With no one else remaining, in desperation and resignation , the Armoured Titan finally reports for duty.

@@LoricSwift to be honest... it was his fault.
      He could just go back.
But no... he wanted to break the wall and make innocent ppl suffer.
And now that the remnants of those innocent people are filled with hatred and are now strong, he has no excuse for what was happening in liberio.
      Reiner had a choice.
Sure he had his mission but he didn't have PERSONAL reasons to break to wall... noone hurt him from paradis at that point.
      He just followed orders.
For eren though, it is personal.. it is revenge... it is hatred that was built up through many years.
Reiner understands that this eren that he saw before him, is his own creation...and he just wished that eren was just a better man than him.
But even if eren WAS a better man than him and didn't seek out revenge, marley was still declaring war and planning to destroy paradis.

That's exactly what Marley's MP who killed Zeke's sister said.
After all, people want to see cruelty for entertainment, don't they?
The contrasting reactions of the two sisters showed this well.
One continues to be confused about how to handle this situation emotionally and is at a loss as to whom to root for.
The other, on the other hand, is basically smiling and overjoyed every time Eren or a character from Paradis Island attacks and kills someone. Then, as soon as there is a scene of dead civilians or dialogue about it, she looks sad, understanding the “irrelevant victims” as she remembers them.
Of course, she is not smiling because the Paradis characters are killing people, but because she is happy to see the Paradis characters in action.
But you don't need to see the scene of dead civilians to imagine it.
I just know that Paradis Island characters attacking = a lot of unrelated people being killed.
Eren said, “There are people of color both inside and outside the walls,” which we both agreed with.
Reiner also talked about the people on Paradis Island as “all kinds of guys” during a meal with his family, but Reiner's mother and Gabi dismissed this as “devils”.
In contrast, they denied to Reiner's mother and Gabi that they were brainwashed.
There must have been many “various people” other than the characters Eren and Reiner met.
There were many “different people” on Paradis Island, in Marley, in the camps, and in other countries.
There must have been many nameless people, both good and bad.
There must have been people on Marley who did not think Eldians were “devils”.
Not all of the people in the camps would consider the people of Paradis Island to be “devils”.
Not all the people would have had the same ideology as the country.
Still, there must have been many Marleys who had no choice but to follow the instructions of their country.
Eren and his men stood on the corpses of “various people” who were not depicted as “famous characters,” and the way they smiled with joy at their battle reminded me, in a way, of the Marley MPs who killed Zeke's sister and some Marley citizens who were happy to see newspaper headlines about “their country's soldiers in action.

If we combined the kill counts of Annie, Reiner & Bert, it's still less than that of Armin's

One important little moment here (7:55) is Jean's decision to fire the thunderspear at Falco. He pushes through the hesitation because the last time he was in this situation (when he had that MP at gunpoint on the back of the cart), it almost got him and his comrades killed. It's an interesting bit of character development to see how combat against humans has affected Jean
Also for why Reiner's titan looks so different, this was actually a bit of a mistake on the part of the showrunners (No spoilers, but I will be talking about the visual difference between the manga and show). So in the show, we're shown that Reiner's armored plates have that golden brownish color, but the manga was publishing in black and white, so it doesn't really have the same tonal delineation between the plates and the skin of other normal titans. So when Reiner pops up in this form here, it's made very clear that he's in such a weakened state that his armored plates don't form properly - he just has jagged fragments on his shoulders, shins, and such, but his torso and face are completely bare and he looks essentially like a giant version of his human form. The showrunners for some bizarre reason colored what SHOULD be his bare titan skin the same golden brown as his armored plates. They also added the armor clinking sound effects when he moves (even though he's unarmored there) and made his eyes glow. Because of this, I've found that when most people who haven't read the manga see this scene for the first time, they assume Reiner is in like a new, more powerful form or something (the glowing eyes, the spiky shoulders etc), when in fact the total opposite is true. Reiner is so weak and broken, that he's unable to even fully form his titan, and is simply using all the strength he has left to push through for Gabbi and Falco.
That probably didn't need explaining at this point since I'm sure you two have seen the next episode by the time this one airs, but still, it was a weird little production mistake I thought would be interesting to point out

Eren and armin did exactly what Reiner and bertholdt did in the very beginning. It makes sense why Eren moving forward from this and Reiner act the way they do. They both had to look at the people they were crushing and smashing while killing them. Bertholdt and Armin kinda had it easier than the other pair, they just have to transform once and it’ll kill most of the people in that area instantly. The colossal is so tall I doubt it can see any of the people it kills unless it’s a huge crowd. Whereas Eren and Reiner have normal sized titans so they can see everything they’re doing and causing

e.g. In S1 when Levi Squad died to Annie, Eren learned he needs to act independently and aggressively to save the people he cares about. In S3 when Jean didn't take the shot on Kenny's soldier, he learned he has to put his humanity aside to save the people he cares about.
