MORE BOUNCING OCTO-BABIES, PLEASE!!!!
Omg right
Looked like the Mario game for a second
The weird part of this is that the octopus is aware of her help. They are insanely intelligent.
They really are!!!
And the japs eat em alive
They are! And yet other cultures eat or cook them while still alive. 🤮
We’re so clever that we’re in awe at the intelligence of octopi - *that’s* what alien lifeforms will observe, not man, who lusts after paper and is so hellbent on his own destruction he doesn’t even realise what he’s doing. Alien life will mock humans to the point we’ll either become their amusing pets, or dinner.
@@Nicholas.Homeless You’re totally humanizing extraterrestrials when whatever they are and however they are would be beyond our comprehension. The manifestation of life elsewhere will be met under very different circumstances and life-granters(such as our sun).
The baby bouncing at the end was the most human toddler energy thing I’ve ever seen.

Always will. Even the creatures people hate.
Me too, it’s beautiful 🤩 ❤
This is absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. A mother octopus will lay her eggs, which could be in the thousands. She will hover, constantly filtering water over them, curling herself around them to protect them 24/7. She doesn't eat, but spends what energy she has left in her, then when the babies hatch, she will pass away. As intelligent as they are, I wish they would live longer than a few years.
I was actually gonna say that. Incredibly intelligent yet fragile at the same time.
"pass away" lol, she will literally dismember her self to death, its way more gruesome then simply passing away
@@NjoyMoney aren't you lovely
@@therecoveredcolorista im factual and truth hurts
@@NjoyMoney that's not actually what happens, though. Once the octopus has had her clutch of eggs fertilized, the death spiral begins. It's due to the insulin and other steroid hormones (not a scientist so I don't remember the names, just an animal lover) released by the optic gland after fertilization. She stops hunting for food as soon as she finds a safe place to lay her eggs, only eating whatever gets close enough for her to catch without her leaving the eggs. Eventually she stops eating altogether, and her sole focus becomes hatching the eggs. Mostly they live to see that happen, sometimes they don't. In captivity a few will fling themselves at the sides of their tanks after the hatch, either to hasten their demise or because they're looney from starvation, your guess is as good as mine. Some have been observed eating the ends of their own tentacles. It's not an across the board thing. I don't know why you feel like you have to present it as such. Did your mom take you to a movie with that scene in it and it's stuck with you?
The truly touching thing about the mama octopus is that she dies after her young are born. She literally gives her life to protect her eggs
That's so sad 😭
They literally just figured out how that occurs....sort of. The why's, there is good reasoning behind as well.
@@Thulgore can you tell me?
@@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim the male dies after mating

There's a documentary about a man who befriends an octopus. It's very heartwarming. If you love octopuses like I do, you'll love this movie. It's called, "My Octopus Teacher".
I saw that and I think it's the best use of film I've ever seen in my 70 years. Greatly moving story, incredible filming.
It’s nice to know there is somebody else out there.. who looks upon these creatures for the precious irreplaceable treasures they are I love octopus and I hate. How are humans eat these animals and the way that we treat the oceans.. instead of cleaning up the oceans and finding better ways to protect and manage this precious resource. People like Elon Musk would much rather spend their money for the commercial race for space says a lot about hour species we are cancer on this planet that’s killing it slowly.
Best documentary Ever, I was just checking new titles, but sat glued to this even though it was late & I was exhausted. I did cry while watching it FYI. UNBELIEVABLE bond & animal-human communication in that film! 🐙🏊♂️📹
I saw this was very cool but sad too!

Hermoso bebé pulpo, pena que nazcan huérfanos o lleguen a ver a su madre morir.
Octopus: “It’s stressful protecting my eggs from this human that’s been hanging around for months!”
They are pretty smart and recognized people, it’s not shooting ink, mimicking a dangerous creature, or changing colors to ward her off. I can imagine after not being attacked and then seeing no threat it probably enjoyed the company and having a bigger “fish” hanging around would prevent other predators from doing the same.
@@mangasaint Commendable logical deduction~

There are so many kind people in the world doing all they can for all sorts of other beings, be they people, wildlife, farm animals, or domestic pets! The more you look for them, the more you will see them. What we have to do is support them in every way we can whether it is emotional support or financial support AND do our best to not let ignorance, stupidity and outright evil get away with being held responsible when they victimize anyone of the other groups I mentioned. ♥

Octopodes. It's not latin but greek.
@@jacquelineess1141
English isn't a Latin language, it's a Germanic language disguised as Latin.
It's arbitrary, it doesn't matter whether the words "octopi" or "octopodes" are used when they're both commonly used and understood by the general population as a plural for Octopus.
Why are we using other languages grammar when English is its own language in the first place? It's meaningless. I don't understand why we're using Greek and Latin rules for a Germanic language.
It's not Latin, it's not Greek, it's English.
Stop overcomplicating a simple language system just to sound smarter than everyone when you really just got this information from a UA-cam comment thread.
@@citizenvulpes4562 Pardon?
The actual word is greek. Let me clear up any confusion, octopus=οκτώπους>οκτώ which means Eight + πούς which means Foot. It is a borrowed word which has no meaning in english when one attempts to etymologically analyze it. Not sure why you mentioned english as being a germanic language at all, it is a very well-known fact and not what my comment was about.
So by saying octopi, the word means eight-pi. Which means eight of...pi? It has no meaning etymologically. But podes, means legs. Therefore the word can be comprehended by anyone as it has a full meaning. It's like instead of saying jackhammer, you say jackhem, or instead of saying beeswax, you say beeswi. Every word matters in compound words.
Sure, we can call them octopuses, octopi or octopodes but I wanted to clear up any confusion as there actually are people out there who care about these things. Perhaps you don't and that's perfectly fine but not everyone is like you. Have a lovely day.
@@jacquelineess1141As a greek person, what you wrote was perfect. People can obviously call them however they wish but knowing why we use words and what their meaning is, is a sign of intelligence and an active, inquisitive mind. Take care!
