حمام کا مطلب جو اج کل اپ لیے رھے ھیں وہ بلکل غلط ھے. حمام فارسی زبان کا لفظ ھے اور اس کے بنانے کا رواج ایران اور وسطہ ایشیا کی ریاستوں میں مسلمان بادشاھوں نے ڈالا تھا شہر کے چوراہیے پر ایک خوبصورت ارام گاہ ھوتی تھی جس میں پانی کا تلاب ھوا دار حال اور کھلے کمرے دروازوں کے بغیر بناے جاتے تھے.اور اس عمارت کو شاھی محل کی طرح خوبصورت بنایا جاتا تھا.
اس لفظ حمام کو نہ جانے ناہی خانہ کیوں نام دیا گیا ھے. اور پھر یہ نام رواج پا گیا جو کہ اپنے معنی کے لیحاظ سے غلط ھے.
