I would skip the Zeroshiki for the Youkai Watch U Prototype since it can use ALL the medals released so far..(That includes the recently released B-Medals/Buster Medals). Mostly cause it sounds really hype.

And the character Kyubi shows up in the game and anime but act totally different because the Kyubi in the game is not hitting on 10 year old girls to gain ultimate power

Clonetos In a weird way, the third Youkai Watch game did that. Because Level-5 ran out of traditional Japanese yokai, they started using "American" ones. The thing is, they made 'em up from scratch, so instead of using cryptids, they went with yokai that represented "American" things like cheerleaders or astronauts.
Levitz9 I know, right? They try to make a more "American" game, but they make the setting a pun on a Russian city ("St. Peanutsburg") and have a mascot monster that's, again, a pun that only works in Japanese (USApyon). It's pretty hopeless.

This franchise will most likely have a very small demographic: Kids in Japan. I think one of the reasons Pokemon is so popular is because anybody in any country and any age range can enjoy Pokemon. On the outside, Pokemon looks like a simple kids game but can get complicated if you really get invested. I'm not really expecting any in depth mechanics from Youkai-Watch. The second reason, like you said, is all the puns and characters. A perfect example is Chocolove from the anime Shaman King. He's a really funny character in the Japanese version, but is a worthless character in the localized versions of Shaman King because of all the Japanese puns that just do not work in English. Nobody is going to understand this humor outside of Japan.
it may just be me, please don't just go AWOL just because I'm speaking my mind but, alot of yo kai look like other franchise monsters... the figure in the video looks a hell of alot like renamon for example. or the names may just be similar sometimes. I can't remember any off the top of my head but I'm sure if you know Pokémon you will see similarities. as I said I may just be imagining it.

Really solid summation of this franchise, man. Obviously the game and show have been out for a while at this point, and as someone who has consumed the localization of each? A Pokémon killer this is NOT. The game is alright, if not lacking in story, but the show feels incredibly dumbed down for an American audience. Disappointing.

Another good part about the anime is Hidabat. The adorable bat Yo-Kai appears in a lot of the best episodes.
