- The 1031 Skateboards/Landshark Wheels Parking Block Contest was held at Bull Taco in Oceanside, CA. First place was $500 cash and there was only one rule: The board or your body must touch the parking block. Song is "Self Destruction" by The Flytraps, who played live at the event. Amazing!! I dont care how good someone is. The stuff they are doing on a single parking block is fucking rad. Dudes were getting worked! This is totally raw skating in its simplist form with tech shit mixed in. This really makes me want to go grind a parking block!!!!

The trick dude did to win is incredible. No one can do that shit or at least in almost 30 years of skating ive never seen anyone do that on a parking block!!! Respect!
Damn is sad seeing comments hating on this legit contest. Just shows how ignorant they are, modern skating was rooted by simple skating... The money don't matter just having fun. Shit skaters these days are only looking to get money by a sport that was made to fuck around & have fun! Screw having to go off 16 stairs or grinding the biggest rails just enjoy the rush of simple skating.
Been skating a parking blocck in my back yard for a couple weeks now and haven't hit any of my regular spots since... they are such a great obstacle that you can really challenge yourself on... you cna definitely get smoked on them too!

And if you look close there were no banners for (Choose one) Ford, Monster, Red Bull, Tampax, Axe, Toyota, Mountain Dew. And it still is more awesome than half the contests now.
