I keep hearing so many different opinions on material. I've been told steel is more cost effective compared to wood from one company and architects say concrete and steel are expensive. But here I'm hearing it's not expensive?

9:25 I'm sure this is just a quick video so maybe I'm overthinking it, but my understanding is that steel corrosion is separate from "concrete cancer". The steel can corrode due to moisture ingress. Concrete cancer is the second thing you mention, the alkali-silica reaction. Either phenomenon can cause spalling.
Good comparison video, always fun to select one material or the other for a given project and weigh up the options.
Valuable information, thanks. What about steel in 2 story buildings like family homes. Is it more advantageous than concrete?
