Really enjoyed the review. I liked how you added more elements like the measurements part. It gives an overall better way to understand and relate to the subjective part. I've red somewhere fosi are releasing a stereo unit next and also a preamp of some sort. Keep up the good work!
I was wondering what it would do with two power supplies. Everyone who has reviewed it is happy that it works so well that it feels like a game changer. Great review.
I was waiting for this review, thank you so much! Whatever one may think about Fosi, they do a great job listening to their customers, critics and suggestions. I'm running 2 ZA3's in mono now and it's tempting to switch to these, especially re. the upgraded 48V 10A psu's. I guess we have to wait a bit for further measurements re. powerspecs, but they surely upped their game. Cheers MAD! 👊
Hi, i just this week received a douk pro 7. I could compare it with my class D T+A Cala. The douk came with a 32v power supply. I found that it was slightly subdued in the mid range then the T+A. I replaced the power supply to 48v, wow, what a difference! It sounds slightly brighter on the high frequency, then the T+A. The imaging, instrument separation is very good. My speakers are Castle Knight 4's, which are on the warm side. I tried a lot of different music, from Jazz, Houston Person is very good, to rock, pink floyd The Endless River, the organ was awesome, to Heilung. The girls voices are beautiful. The power supply made a lot of difference. I heard the combined power supply to those mono blocks, caused noise. When he changed it to separate supplies it produced no noise.
I never had any noise problems so no idea, but yes I heard that some units were coming with this problem and that they add an filter to the power supply!
Not really since I performed all measures with less than 1V, you should have the amplifier clipping above 1.2V if i am not wrong, btw Fosi should add input sensitivity specs to the products page!
@@MadAudiofficial Amplifier will not clip (maybe closer to 2 volts it might) but the difference will be in frequency response. ZA3 sound very very good, in fact sounds better than all my other amplifier, most expensive is 10K Euro...bought v3 mono, too and I'm selling the old ones but the ZA3's.
according to antoher rivewer, v3 monos and Aiyima A70 have exactly the sam frequence response.... thus, the only reasons to spend USD 100 more for the monos are more power for very pwer hungry speakers and 0% crosstalk. what else? As I said in the review is hard to defined warmer cause the ZA3 has load dependency problems that will let them sound different between speakers, and warmer where? Bass mid or treble? Btw no I didn’t find it warmer at all, where the V3 mono i will describe it as open and extended with a vivid mid presentation and full of air top without being never fatigue or aggressive! With some speaker ZA3 sounds brighter actually, so definitely not warmer. Hope this helps!
I have za3 running mono with sparko.s opamp paired with klipsch speaker and tube dac. Comparing to my tube integrated, the za3 has richer midrange and more detail; however, the tube has more open sound stage and less pint point for instruments.
I have the ZA3 in dual mono setup that I'm happy with. Do you think it's worth upgrading to the V3 mono? I've fitted Sparkos opamps to my ZA3s, but these mono blocks need 2 opamps per unit as opposed to one each for rhe ZA3. Could get expensive!
