Son, listening to this story and being a hmong woman myself, I know how HARD it is to be a nyab. Especially when your husband's side doesn't like you. It sounds to me like your father and your grandparents filled you with lies. They are doing EVERYTHING they can to keep you away from your mother. You need to understand that when the parents don't like the daughter in law, they will do whatever they can to destroy their son's marriage. Hmong parents from that era are VERY TOXIC!!! My parents are one of them. If they can't control you, they'd rather disown you. To them, it's all about control. They don't want to see their children happy. They'd rather choose their daughter in law whether the son likes her or not. Trust your mother. She wouldn't lie to you.

The story teller made it so confusing for the listeners to understood but one thing was that why you actually college’s graduates, not under aged any more why letting someone else controlling you from stepping out from your comfort zone to find out the truth?. How did she knew to come visit you at your school if she didn’t know you’re actually her son from the beginning?
