I thought I saw a video that debunked the reball of the main solder bga. They had determined it was a break in the silicone layer wire bonds. People thought the reball was fixing the issue however it was luck that they had rebonded the mid layer of the chip during the process.
Hi , as I mentioned on the video I reballed this NEW chip to leaded balls because the lead free balls it came with need much higher temperature to melt, which puts the chip at extreme risk of dying during installation. I’m well aware the cause of Gpu failure is the low Tg underfill that stresses the “mid layer” connections as you mentioned
