Funnily enough, the only reason I use CCleaner is to clean up the registry. Of course I know it's not going to speed up my system. but I just use it after I uninstall a bunch of programs, particularly when I have to force-delete parts of the program that wouldn't uninstall properly, like Norton, Photoshop, malware, etc.. Because CCleaner is good for finding dead parts of the registry after the programs get removed.
I find and think differently. When I used to use CCleaner, it did speed up my computer by removing 'dead links' in the registry that tried to run on startup due to them being 'explorer hooks'.
Wow, an app that lets me restore all the unwanted apps that come with Windows and which I meticulously removed as soon as I installed the OS. How convenient!
I cannot even install the app. It doesn't show in MS Store unless you go to the web page, which opens the installer in MS Store, which end the install process and does not install the app. Wierd install experience.
I switched from CCleaner to Glary Utilities a few years ago- I'd love to see a really good comparison. Glary is not as polished, but has more features and gives better control of what it does. I made the switch because of rumblings about CCleaner vulnerabilities and to get away from Avast - which had annoyed me as a antivirus, so I switched to AVG - only to have that be taken over by Avast - necessitating my migrating to Bitdefender. So Avast acquiring Piriform was enough for me to look for a CCleaner alternative. Glary does the job pretty well, but I don't know if it is really better - I'd love to see a match up.
I use bloatynosy to get rid of OneDrive, but the filesystem is still there and my programs keep defaulting to save files there so I can never find my stuff
I personally will give this a go as even though I've been using PCs for about 28 years and have a decent amount of understanding how to use a PC, just because of my ADHD and some learning difficulties it'll cut down on myself being overwhelmed, lost and stressed.
I resolved the 'family IT person' problem by just installing Linux on the hardware of my parents. They just use their laptops to browse, answer emails or write some text, all of which is easily done with Linux and so far there were no accidental downloads and the only two times I was called on was because some files wouldn't open because the default program wasn't set yet. Overall made my life a whole lot easier.
I tried PC Manager early on. One of the files it immediately "cleaned" was any passwords Chrome had saved for me. But, it left those saved by Edge. It also loaded a screen that asked whether i wanted to switch to Bing, and as i went to press the "No" button, it loaded another image that moved the "Yes" button to where the "No" button was ...thus I hit "Yes" instead of "No" and required some major PC surgery to change it back.

For those that remember Vista, the whole "secret" to keep that running smooth was at least a weekly clearing of the temp files. Once I had that habit, I never let it go and have been doing it since. So, not having to dig down to the disk cleaner and one tapping it from PC Manager has been seen as a good thing here.
Yea, I'm not sure how making some of these things more easy/convenient to access makes it "really more for beginner users" or whatever lol. Just because I 'can' go dig around in Control Panel/etc. doesn't mean that I still want to if I don't have to.
As a 20yr it guy (and obviously the family tech too), I not only want this to get my own dupes under control... I wanna install it on every older client's computer.

Been using the beta for about a year and it actually helped with my fps in games, and telling me what temp files to delete that were taking too much space.
I've had nothing but good experiences with CCleaner after using it regularly for years. Even with deleting registry entries, I've never had an issue with it (knock on wood).
Latest version is shareware. They got taken over by Norton in 2022 and it was only a matter of time. I'll either use a old version or use something else now

I'm not a CCLeaner fan but there is one feature I use a lot. I work in IT & a frequent problem our organization has is shared desktops accumulating too many user profiles & running out of space. I start with a disk cleanup including system files, then start deleting profiles that Windows lists as "Account Unknown" (old defunct account that Windows can't identify the SID in AD anymore). Then I look up the remaining profiles in AD & see which ones are explicitly terminated & delete those. But sometimes even this doesn't score me back much space. CCLeaner Pro has a feature though which will scour through all the remaining profiles, though, & clear out all their caches & temp files without having to drill out into every profile & locate each folder individually, & that usually helps a bunch, for a while at least. I've also had people tell me afterward the computer runs quicker. That feature is only in the pro version, though, so I install the trial version temporarily & make sure to back it out when I'm done.

Riley just reminded me, there have been times I had issues with windows... i don't remember... let's call network issues (DNS?) where my pc couldn't access some websites while my phone could. one suggested fix was setting bing as my default search engine

My favorite feature of the tool is allowing me to select which updates I would like to install. Which is something Win10 removed and didn't allow us to change... Yes, I know there is a PowerShell module 6 help with advanced ways of only installing specific updates (Get-WindowsUpdates) But this was a normal feature for so many Windows versions until Win10 just outright refused you to select which updates you want to run... Especially when you need to troubleshoot and confirm which updates should be skipped or put on hold...
I like it. It's duplicate file feature is great and also works on web shares so I can tell I have files locally I don't need. As someone who uses VMs a lot it also is good at freeing up cached ram which was always a pain as the OS did not consider VMs a higher priority
Recently I ran a first update after Win 10 installation on october on my offline PC and 15 GB is gone. The best part is that for the most significant free space recovery I had to use a function of DISM tool, quite non-obvious and hidden for the most of users, even I did it for the first time and I'm definitely not a basic user... this is nuts.
CCleaner will always be my go to when I feel my system is not running up to par. Just gotta know what to disable so it doesn't completely ruin your system accidentally.

I believe Revo Uninstaller is fine. There is also the open-source Bulk Crap Uninstaller, available on GitHub. I used to use this on Windows. I'd share the link, but the mighty UA-cam overlords would just silently delete my comment, as they do.
This was actually developed by Microsoft China. Features such as search engine reset and toolbar cleanup are designed for local specific situations.（Their software forces search engine and taskbar changes and locks them）
Just tried it out and it recommended me removing the third party program I use to give the Windows 7 Start Menu, etc. So be careful when using this program and uncheck "Windows Default" if you're using Open Shell and other customization options as you might have to re-install them if you don't.

70 year old man checking in. Before I retired I was required to use Windows because of a couple of proprietary company programs. I don't trust Microsoft any longer. Indeed, I'm using two drives on my tower, one with Windows 10 Pro and the other with Linux Mint Cinnamon. Before October of next year I should be comfortable enough with Linux that I will say bye bye to Microsoft. It was sort of nice knowing you. Thanks for this video.

They already control the entire OS, why would they need a tool to do this? Just change the ToS and force users to agree to the new ones, since the alternative is not using your computer (or installing Linux but like 99% of users are entirely unaware of Linux)
I still think there are instances where registry cleaning can help. Had 2 different PCs have issues booting, and after running CCleaner's registry cleaner they were able to boot normally again.
I always force stop background running apps on my Windows PC by disabling background activity. It's a way Microsoft allows these apps to talk to each other and invade user privacy.

This program is created for win 11 (win 12) not win 10. When win 12 is released this program will be automatically written together with win 12. This program won't clean the computer like CCLeaner, but PC Management is really safe, which I can't say about CCLeaner..
Not sure how you know PCM is "safe" MS's track record is hardly a good guide. And you'll have to cite specific examples of why CC is not safe. What I can say with some confidence, I expect an MS application to (a) not do what I actually want done and (b) not do what it does well. It'll look "corporate" though.
Not even gonna lie, had no idea this was a thing. Downloaded it and it has just replaced an entire toolkiit I've used for like a decade now. It's actually a brilliant tool, the UI is great, straight forward, and it just works exactly how you'd want it to.
I use CC cleaner, I always have and have had no problems with it. I already know how do do all these things manually, it's just faster. I have 128 GB of ddr4 4000 I don't care how much ram my programs use. For 2x the price of a vision elite I can get the top Threadripper. I don't even use IE or Bing or co-pilot. I used to just use regedit and do whatever I wanted anyway and still can.
I actually found the duplicate files feature very useful! Thanks for introducing this app! I know we like to dunk on Microsoft for including SO MUCH bloat in Windows, but this app is actually useful!

Ccleaner has fixed some registry entries in the past that helped me so struggling to let it go.

They already control the entire OS, why would they need a tool to do this? Just change the ToS and force users to agree to the new ones, since the alternative is not using your computer (or installing Linux but like 99% of users are entirely unaware of Linux)

I still think there are instances where registry cleaning can help. Had 2 different PCs have issues booting, and after running CCleaner's registry cleaner they were able to boot normally again.

@@simonb.8868 Not 100%, but after several attempts to get it to boot failing, that fixed it. It was on an older version of Windows though.

This program is created for win 11 (win 12) not win 10. When win 12 is released this program will be automatically written together with win 12. This program won't clean the computer like CCLeaner, but PC Management is really safe, which I can't say about CCLeaner..
Not sure how you know PCM is "safe" MS's track record is hardly a good guide. And you'll have to cite specific examples of why CC is not safe. What I can say with some confidence, I expect an MS application to (a) not do what I actually want done and (b) not do what it does well. It'll look "corporate" though.

Not even gonna lie, had no idea this was a thing. Downloaded it and it has just replaced an entire toolkiit I've used for like a decade now. It's actually a brilliant tool, the UI is great, straight forward, and it just works exactly how you'd want it to.
Been using CCleaner for decades and it works just fine if one leaves the extra features alone. I use it strictly for clean up

I use CC cleaner, I always have and have had no problems with it. I already know how do do all these things manually, it's just faster. I have 128 GB of ddr4 4000 I don't care how much ram my programs use. For 2x the price of a vision elite I can get the top Threadripper. I don't even use IE or Bing or co-pilot. I used to just use regedit and do whatever I wanted anyway and still can.
