All the old ones seem to have issues with the tanks. I just bought one for my 64 trail off eBay. I absolutely love the little bike it's a blast to drive who needs all that power anyway?
I have a mint condition 69 Honda CT-90 Trail King, and I love it. I bought it because of this video! I will balance out my gas budget great as my other ride is a 66 Mustang GT!
I bought a 71 yellow ct not running, no title, kinda rough, $350. Was hoping just need a carb clean but that wasn’t the case. 60psi compression. Took head and cylinder the machine shop. $40 to clean up the head and reseat valves. $80 to bore cylinder to 50over 35 for piston on eBay. Like new motor now for under $200. While I was there I did that timing chain and new gaskets. Still, these bikes can be cheap to buy and fix.
I've had my trail 90 for about 2 months. It runs pretty well. the only problem I have is that its very fickle when it comes to idling and it's really hard to crank it up again after its been turned off. Would a new carburetor solve these problems?
No cold brew? logged many miles on Honda trail bikes , just sold my trail 110 because I cant physically ride it anymore, so its great to see these awesome little bikes being enjoyed
a few words for ya to save some bucks..WA MC Collector plates...one time fee of $50 and never pay registration again...CHEERS!!! got one on my '74-90 ;)
$2000 is to much unless its in like-new condition. you can find a complete non-running one for around a few hundred and usually all they need is a oil change, new battery, and a carburetor cleaning. motors are easy to come by and clone engines are still made to this day. pretty much could build one from ebay parts for $2000-$3000.
2 grand is crazy prices here in the Northeast. It would have to be a late model ct110 with near zero miles in showroom condition or something along those lines to merit 2g's. people have trouble selling runners for 800 up here. at that rate it be cheaper to ship one across the states. On a more helpful note there are a ton of Facebook groups that are CT specific. Many cheap bikes that run and most are on the west coast.
Gee, the one in my barn has a little less than 600 miles. Bought in new in 1974. Heck it is still new and I would have a tough time selling it for $2000. New ones don't have the character or panache. I'm a little big for it so ride the SL125. Now for the road I ride the naked 1977 GL1000 that just topped the 9000 mile mark. Love old Honda's
You guys really need to do more CT90 videos... I bought one because of this video and I almost have it sorted now and I am ready to do some CT adventuring.
ROB NAVAEI Agreed, a little personal grooming would go a long way. A little more time talking about the bike instead of failing to be funny would be great too, but hey, it is their show...
My question it's a 90cc, it only goes 40 miles an hour? come on a 50cc can go faster than that speedometer says 80 I want to see you get those bikes to 80 miles an hour.
My uncle Wayne once rode a trail 90 from Nevada to Oregon with his cat in a box on the back.
I have a 1965 CT200 Trail 90 and that all sounds so familiar. Yup, just ease back on the throttle and top the hill in 4th at 22mph. LOL

What kind of gas mileage do they get? range on a tank of gas.
Looked at some Trail 90's on Craigslist. Like.....$2000 for one that works. Wow.
+Xplorer Steve They are ranging from $400-$2000 depending on condition. We put some elbow grease into ours :)
