Spence is the most underrated trail system in Oregon, it has everything except for wood features. Moore park being next to downtown is awesome too. Love being able to ride my bike without having to drive to the TH.
Travelling to the U.S and Canada next summer which will include a month or two in the PNW so looking forward to more locations in the series where we will be able to ride. Well done for putting Klamath Falls on our radar as it will be a must do for us now. Fantastic to see more ride areas welcoming and accepting ebikes in the U.S. Being from Australia we have never understood the dislike towards ebikes from other trail users, even worse by fellow (acoustic) MTBers over there.
Thanks for the comment and we hope you have a great time on your trip! We're not sure either but hope that it continues to shift...There will always be hold outs but if we can at least get people to drop the confrontational superiority complex, we'll be in a better spot for sure.
Loam Wolf crew , thank you, yet another surprise of a gem location!!!! I have driven through Klamath many times for work and never given a thought to check that place out. Trails look super sick, that cinnamon roll though....yikes!!
As a mountain biker and someone who grew up in KFalls this is awesome to see! Though I no longer live in Southern Oregon, I have been down to ride in Klamath three times now. Now that I have an EMTB, I have another reason to go!
Great Video! I live a stones throw away from Moore park and mountain bike all the time. Cool to see you guys come through and shine a positive light on our community. 👍
Great video. I was wondering when was the exact time in the Spring they visited and filmed this? I try to hit Bend in that perfect transition time between Spring and Summer but am hoping the window before hot Summer and dry dust/dirt in KF might be a bit different. This would mean we could spend even more time enjoying Oregon by doing Bend and adding KF to a longer trip. Same would apply for the late September through late October travel/time period?
I know this post is a year old. I just saw this video today. Quail Trail that is connected to KLA-Mo-Ya Casino in Chiloquin Oregon offers free shuttle service. You can check them out online.
Regarding e-bikes, I can only guess, but Klamath County likely received a grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, which specifically dictates proper ebikes be allowed in areas developed for biking. Maybe some day the NFS will catch up to where the rest of the nation is moving on that point.
Hope not. Watch some videos or find some pictures, and read some articles on how damaging lithium and cobalt mining is to the environment and how children are used to mine in 3rd world countries, along with the reduced lifespan due to breathing highly contaminated air in the mines. Then weigh that against your personal convenience of not having to work your ass off pedaling up hill or on rough sections of what look like moto trails in the vid.
How ever do you live with yourself and the lithium ion powered cell phone in your pocket? And you can shove the ablism of assumed workload gatekeeping somewhere warm and moist.
@@JF-lt5zc Apologies for my 'reactive' reply. Coffee had not kicked in and there seems to be a lot of people on forums with very non-understanding perspectives on e-bike use. The up side is that in 3 years of using one, I have never run into any overt animosity on the trails. I still ride standard MTB as well, but the difference is often in driving or shuttling to the trails vs. just hopping on the e-bike from the house.
I'm not against E-Bikes but like other motorized two wheelers, the user should be required to hold a liability policy in case of a trail accident. Because E-Bikes have more energy than a normal mtn bike. Ride on
I don't know if you have ever riden an e-MTB, but now that in my 50's it makes going uphill alot more enjoyable and I don't find myself going faster down hill than on my analog bikes.
Interesting thoughts. We’d like to know what you mean by have more energy? Are you referring to a head on collision scenario? If so, would that be different than the energy an expert 220lb non-ebike rider going downhill would have hitting a rider vs a 160lb rider?
I hope you guys can do this more regularly. Love this type of content!
Thank you William, stay tuned for episode 3 and 4 in this year's series coming in the next two weeks!
Awesome! Thanks for helping put Klamath on the map 👍 Guys at Spence have been building some amazing trails!
Our pleasure!
We're stoked that the Loam Wolf crew was able to check out Spence and look forward to some more awesome features for this up and coming destination!
Great video, glad you liked our little gem of the mountain biking world.
We love it!

Spence is awesome! Glad you guys got to check it out and the rest of the community.
Yes it was!
We loooooove the owners of Starvin Marvin's! Amazing employers. A wonderful local business that puts their employees first.
Sweet! Lived in the Rogue Valley for a number of years and would go hit Spence from time to time when I needed some rock in my diet!

Seeing ny home town on youtube, on my recommended made my night
Those trails look fantastic. I should make a trip down there.
Yes you should!
Looks very fun!!
It sure was!

It's definitely worth stopping by next time! Very fun trails
And definitely get a cinnamon roll. 😂
First annual Spence Mayhem MTB was hosted today so this drop is perfectly timed! 👌🏻
Oh nice!
Very good times!
Yes indeed!
Probably ur best video ever 🎉❤😂

Right on! Hope you have a fun trip back.
Would you ever move back and live in KFalls?
Home trails! Great to get our name out there! Thanks!
Our pleasure!
Love me some speed king. Will be there again in July.
Same here!

Thanks for watching!
Wow, awesome trails and I love that they are embracing ebikes!
Us too!
Hello from Klamath
The guy left out windsurfing, kite boarding and winging for water sports🤟
ebike tour... I'll head over and watch some more Red Bull Erzbergrodeo instead. They got the proper sound.
I'm pretty sure you came through and stopped at the motel my mom works at in Chemult and bought drinks!
Zack's Bikes used to not be the only bike shop in town.
Shame shame shame, for not finishing the cinnamon roll. 😁
We won’t let him forget!!
Listen to all those birds...
WTF is Robert wearing?! LOL
30 yrs from now we will all be laughing about how e-bikes used to banned on trails. Some purist really do fear the future 😢

I live in klamath😮
Is anyone offering shuttle service upthere?

E bikes are the best.
I guess being able to eat a cinnamon roll for breakfast is an advantage for e-bikes. I couldn't do a big climb on all that sugar.
Even for e-bikes it’s not recommended. Was delicious, but did Robert’s body no favors.
@@TheLoamWolf LOL!
Wow looks like a great place to ride. Can I E-foil here too?
It certainly is. We were very pleasantly surprised.
Lake of the Woods - just about 20 minutes up the road from Spence Mountain - would be a fantastic place to work out your e-foil!
Stay put. This place isn't anything special. There's nothing to do here

P.S. I forgot to add that the motor doesnt assist you when above 20 mph. Level 1 bikes are only pedal assist and there isnt a throttle.

@@TheLoamWolf exactly, and the weight difference isn't even that much - 20-25lbs at most.
