My family came to the Klamath basin in 1932 from Washington. My grandfather started a lumber mill and Klamath falls in the early 1940s and ran it until 1970s. I love Klamath basin and all surrounding areas, absolutely beautiful. So much to do fish hunt hike camp the list goes on. I really love this video it was great to watch. It's like my grandma used to say Oregon is God's country, she is absolutely right!
Glad you enjoyed it! You may also wish to check out our "USA-Pacific NW" playlist on our "81stainless" channel, for additional videos on the Pacific NW. Here you will also find two videos of color slides from the 50s and 60s as well as one from photos from the 1915s. Thanks for watching!
Just our views from a "non-local". K Falls has some lovely scenery and the Running Y is nice. Still don't see much difference in climate & terrain between K Falls and Bend. Always wonder why the towns are so different.
I lived there between 02 and 07 and it was just beautiful!!!! I miss it but my ex told me that it’s not a good place to live anymore but I don’t see how it can’t be 🤔 the scenery was gorgeous and the people were so nice!
@@SinfulScents maybe the job market. It's hard to get jobs in Klamath falls. I think maybe more people then available jobs..it was like that when I left there in early 2000s and a friend of mine who still lives there said it's no different now then it was 20 years ago.
What a great question. We are tourists and not residents, so had to research. The answer is a bit complicated. Just google "Are There Waterfalls in Klamath Falls" and you will find an article by the "Discover Klamath" website that answers your question. Do visit - it is an interesting and scenic (and unappreciated in our opinion) place to visit.
@@81STAINLESS I visited 2 weeks back - a dead town but the Klamath lakes and the drive to Crater lake was really beautiful. And btw, no water falls... misnomer.

The whole area has a lot of beauty, and sometimes it seems it gets overlooked. Thanks for watching.

Old town 15 blocks of empty buildings.
New town, soulless poverty wage WALL STREET BOX stores.
Hard time town.

@@81STAINLESSdoesn't have a major ski area 30 minutes away like Bend.
If you live here you get it!
An interesting town, that I believe gets underrated. Hopefully we captured some of its beauty and character.

Hello, I am planning a visit from SFO. Is there a water fall to watch/visit here Or is it just a name of the place?
