I actually have read several handwritten and illustrated stories by my dad with characters that look like these. The stories lines weren't half bad, but I told my dad he needed to modernize the telling. He wrote as he heard stories in his youth told on old-tyme radio. I suggested he get some children's books with audio from the library to listen to as a guide to finding his voice in today's children's storybook market. Unfortunately, he did not pursue it further, as far as I know, before he passed from this plane to the next. I still have just one of the stories, but my stepmother did not know what he did with the others I returned to him.
My granddaughter asked me how I got the squirrels around my home to eat from my hand. I said it was easy, I just had to sit totally still for 3+ hours with food in my hand several days in a row. She looked at me like I was crazy 🤣 I think kids are really missing out not learning to be still. These videos are amazing! Thanks for being willing to sit still and share the beautiful pics you got with us
As a young adult who was a 2000s kid, I think that parents aren’t aware of the effects of daily screen time and lack of free-play that is also screen free, kids this days are dealing with challenge when it comes to finding entertainment in simple things, with less opportunities of learning to self entertain without a ready made program, engaging in situations has to be “interesting” enough to hold their focus without getting too restless. I think you should try inviting your grandchild to nature-watch with you, prepare snacks, wee-folk and animal tales, and create together creative stories about what you see. Imagination can be her key to enjoying simple stillness - finding entertainment and fulfillment of it.
@Lind Morn sitting still for 3+ hours, especially for a child, is hard now and would have been hard in 1750. don't turn this into some "reject modernity" nonsense
Since lockdown i have been van living in nature and feeding chipmunks for almost 3 years and last month I disciplined to be completely present in the now and not thinking/reading/doing anything but observing ..on the third day the mother chipmunk started climbing all over my body and later even had a long eye staring for more than 5 mins and it was making sound to me , I felt like She was telling me finally you get it ..... Be here now and We are all connected
You know what? Joonie's character growth in this is beautiful. Starting out as a nurturing, gentle giver. Then being attacked. Perhaps with the trauma of that incident coupled with other Becorns convincing her to be more menacing, She girds herself with weapons and a scowl to any threat. But after a while, she realises this is not who she is, she sees the birds, chipmunks and also the squirrels less. She's a giver. Not a menacing warrior. She loves, she doesn't want to hate, it's too big of a weight. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I LOVE these videos of yours! The storytelling is heart warming, I really hope to see more!
Yess I like to think of that being her character arc too!! After 2 squirrel attacks she decides that it's worth living with uncertainty if she gets to maintain her true nature
Wow, I can't think of another time anyone's plucked something directly from my childhood imagination and made it real. I used to picture little woodsy critters like this interacting with plants and animals, when I was very young, and dream of building something like them someday. I always thought acorns looked like helmets! I had a lot of arts-and-crafts dreams, when I was young. Nowadays, I'm more blind than not, and my hands so close to paralyzed they can't make anything outside of my keyboard, but it's lovely to know somebody else met these little guys in the woods, and made them real.
I'm a cynical person probably to my detriment and when I saw this I was thinking " what is this nonsense?" Something made me watch and let me tell you that this hit a soft part in my heart. Everyone wants a Becorn animated series, but I think a stop motion would be the best. Im going to catch up on the rest of your channel now. Hope there are plenty posts.
I love the way the script got flipped and inspired a warrior class. Reality can be brutal and ugly and that is something we all learn. The Becorns, even in their fairy world, are not exempt from this. Fear and terror gives birth to bravery and heroes.
You can be BOTH, a Warrior and a Nurturer. I am Both, and have been most of my 72 year Life. Real. Not imagined. I bow to your Talent for Whimsy, sir. Your work is very much appreciated! ❤️ 💙 💜
I have watched all two videos, now what? There is a woman making organic homes for Gnomes, mice, faeries etc. She has more videos and what she makes is completely charming. Where the Gnomes Live is her channel. I think these Becorns could be sold, so cute.
Thank you for the Where the Gnomes live channel suggestion. Bout to go there now. It’s good for us human beings to wash our minds out with scenes such as these and the Gnome series after watching our world being torn apart by human beans.
really happy that you appeared on my Instagram feed - I am completely charmed by your work, all aspects of it, from idea through creation and capture. Just amazing and fun. (yes, I watched this video until it was COMPLETELY over - MCU has trained me well)
I had a friend, who was in the Berine Corn and the stories he told me were scary and can relate to this story. Thank you to all the Becorns who served their countrees.
Reminds me of the Timbertoes (from Highlights magazine), the Littles, The Borrowers. Yours are concrete and lovely! It seems like a truly challenging endeavor as it seems to contain 3 or 4 disciplines that take many people years to master. Passion projects are truly memorable.
Animated becorns would be the best and would watch it with my grand and great grandchildren again and again. I could see it becoming a classic for generations to come. Thank you so very much for sharing your artistic talent. It's quite an experience.
I feel like Becorns, if ever lost or eaten or what have you, would just grow back on trees after a week or so. We see Joonie having an unfortunate first encounter with a squirrel, coming back prepared for the second take, and eventually going back to doing what she does best, but with maybe a hint more of caution! (Can't feed the birds when she's off regrowing, after all!)
I feel like making something like this stop motion would be production hell but some sort of series with these big horns would be very very welcome by many people. It makes sense to hear you have a history in toy design. I do a little bit of writing an art myself. And I love when you see a character and you look at them and you can just feel their whole backstory and soul on sight. Amazing work.
I have to say, your content gives me the simple joys in life. It is so beautifully pure and simple, yet such an amazing creation. I would love and pay to see even a entire movie about your becorns or a whole series. It gives me vibes of the movie “marcel, the shell with shoes on”. Please keep making these beautiful works of art and ur videos; it’s made my living with severe mental health issues and going thru the day easier. Thank you…
@@pokaay3163 Thank you. If I start writing it might come back, but right now I feel too ill. I've finally managed to contract Covid according to the tests I've done.
These are so cute. I feel this should be featured on the daily dose of internet, it would make a lot of people's day. You should submit it, seriously. :D
Dude you are truly talented. Also you’re a good storyteller. I am fascinated by your imagination and creativity especially how you combine it with nature and animals. I’ve become a fan
Almost all the pics of the final Junie with a chipmunk are wonderful, especially the ones where you can clearly see her smile. When I was a kid, I hand-fed peanuts to a squirrel in Central Park, NYC. At first he'd cautiously approach my hand (I was lying on the ground), grab the peanut and run away to eat it. But pretty quickly he just sat by my hand as he took one peanut after another out of my hand and ate them right there. It was a special experience.
David's connection to nature charms the hell out of me. As a fellow artist and composer,my admiration is unbounded. Love your music scores,David. Exquisite guitar work.
These are just gorgeous. I could definitely sit and watch the interactions of animals and acorn people I wonder if you could do something with pine cones.
Yes I watched until you faded out! Your post came through my FB last week. Adorable and sweet little woodland spirits! Since then I've watched both of your videos a few times and shared out the links to several friends and family members. I'm not sure whether the connection is the personalities of your Becorn waifs or the relationships that come across between the Bcorns and the animals. Your eye for creating the interactions is spot on! Not to mention your photographic skills and patience! You're on to something here and I hope you just keep rolling! Thanks!
Love love love all this!!! I'm a wood carver, draw, build etc... These videos and what you do is JUST AMAZING! It is art, imagination, our wonderful little wildlife world. I just found today. Becorns! I love them. Can't wait to watch all videos!
I just really love the little backstories behind your characters! And I would certainly buy a Junie figurine! Just something fun, see @moviesquirrels videos. A lot of people like to watch, listen, to the nature sounds and just watch animals doing animal things. With music, without music, or even if you want to tell a cute little story in the background. ASMR that's very popular right now, and also bedtime stories for people to fall asleep to. (See podcast - "Nothing Much Happens". You can play around with some of those ideas with your Becorns, and any of that extra or excess footage of video that you have. This was a very cute story about the squirrel. And I love how you always set out to get one thing but end up with another! Such as life! Especially nature!
I love that you leave the little nubbin between their legs! 😂 My favorite was the one where the chipmunk is looking into the basket kind of indesicively and the becorn looks like she's explaining to the chipmunk what's on the menu.
Lol, that made me think he should do a scene with a table and restaurant. Maybe a bowl of food on the table would prevent the Becorns being taken so quickly? Little red and white checkered tablecloth, or plain white, fancy fancy! Maybe wooden crates of seeds nuts and food? Could make with wooden coffee stir sticks or twigs. Sign for the name of the restaurant, menu board...
Hola David.
I'm so glad to have tripped over Becorns. I love this! Ive done some little sculptures with owls in logs, sold handmade mushrooms, and animated rocks around a campfire. Always makes people smile when they come in my booth. Growing up in Hanover, no shortage of acorns that also looked like little people with french barets on to me when I was little.
I love these little Becorns. Dave you are such a wonderful artist, and I love the gorgeous photography, sweet storylines, and your creative process. Thank you for these lovely videos. So sorry about Junie, she was so cute.
This is so enchanting and adorable. I absolutely love it. It makes me so happy to see someone doing what they love and making art their own way. I really hope to see more of these videos in the future. :)
June junior.....nooooooooohhhhhhh! Naughty squirrel. You are extremely imaginative and creative. Loved your storytelling. Such unique Becorns. Next step - writing a book with illustrations for kids to help draw them into nature. Superb.
This is such a clean of little and beautiful way of telling stories of this little acorns to children. I believe these acorns stories, children would love to hear. Please write a book with stories of these little character's. Like I said the children would love them. 🥰
I couldn't ❤️ any little people MORE!!!! I've seen your acorns on Pinterest but never knew you had YT videos.... so I'll be back!!! Wish you were my neighbor. It would be so interesting to talk to you & explore the wilderness (but I'm too old now) but I SOOOOOOOO ❤️ NATURE!!!!! God bless you. L
I just found your channel. I’m 75 and I have always loved small creatures. I have several fairy villages I my garden. I hope you make more of these videos. I also feed chipmunks and squirrels out of my hand.🐿
Truly magical! Love seeing & hearing about your creative process. Enjoyed the storytelling, humour & nature sounds. So much patience & imagination goes into this! Keep creating, this is wonderful :)
Like mad creators throughout time, you are insane in the best way. To see sticks and seeds as living, breathing beings takes a sort of divine inspiration, and to follow through and make your vision real takes a commitment and belief that few possess. You have turned what would be a simple pastime craft into art...a whole world that you invite the rest of us to explore. You sir, are completely bonkers...but then, the best people usually are. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
I planted two acorns in the late fall, the one grew into a nice double little tree and the second planting was eaten in entirety , live and learn. Love your imagination and use of acorns, Judy is a cool character
I just got your print from Tiny Prints and was watching this with my kids because they didn't believe it wasn't photoshoped. It was such a happy coincidence that we also learned Junie III's story!
It's was so sad and sort of shocking to see a Becorn being attacked and eaten. You made "life" from an acorn with your creation. What a fantastic storybook you could make with your drawing and photo skills. Better still an animated Becorn short film. Brilliant.
❤️ love the Becorns. So blended in nature and kind of a light in darkness and a whimsical fantasy connecting with other creatures in nature would make a nice character Toy with which children could relate to. 👏🙏
Can you imagine walking through a park, looking down and discovering a Becorn. I'm afraid I would have to pick he or she up and bring them home to protect them from the squirrels and chipmunks. I love when Junie 3 feeds the chipmunk the first time before the chipmunk discovers her hat. Looking forward to the Becorns Movie. Watching in Oklahoma, Barb
I am so grateful that I found your channel. Your work is creative and sweet. With all the craziness in the world today you give us something that could melt anyone's heart and lift their soul. Thank you Sir. ☺
I don't want to sound like your mom but You're adorable 🥰.... thank you for the smile....I was feeling sorry for myself... your video got me out of my petty self....🙏🌻🦋
This video turned up late one night when I couldn’t sleep…..so glad I pressed play😀 incredible photos and an amazing amount of patience. Thank you for cheering me up🌞
I love this, and yes I would also enjoy a follow up book or movie. But it would have to be stop-motion (I think that is what they are called , like the old Gumby cartoons.) because your art work is priceless. Now I wish to creat one, but my hands aren’t as nimble as in the past. Good luck, and am looking forward to the next adventure, BOOKS! And on a different note, you should have sanded off the little nob on her underside.
Would like to say I LOVE your photos. So original and so cute! ❤️ they’re all cute but my favourite was the becorn threatening the squirrel with a stick.
David you are a super star! The entire package (our becorn free spirits, the animals, the pictures, the forest) is a gift from heaven...but I come here for your stories...you ARE such a storyteller. Please write and hopefully we'll see our beloved becorn stories in a movie/cartoon series soon.
I stumbled across your art on Reddit. I fell in love! You are so talented! I love seeing the whole process and hearing your visions and stories. Keep it going! I'm here for it :)
I so would love acorn warriors to protect these little becorns. I love your process and I would love to see a story line like miniscules. So cute beyond words. Australia
Ha ! Im only 1 1/2 minutes in, but Ive also raised baby squirrels too. They ARE- a handful ! Always getting into something once they become "tweens". I let 2 Mormon boys take them at that age, as up till then they had to be fed every 4 hours. Yes, I took them to work with me & anywhere else I had to be for hours. Then the boys could feed them right outside their apartments sliding glass door as there was a big tree perfect for squirrels right there. Finally...only then, my wallpaper stopped getting eaten. I know your photos & film are going to be hilarious ! Thank you so much ! PS ~ We honestly wouldnt have noticed that blade of grass :)
Hello ~ Understand about the squirrels as they can be very naughty! I had to quit using my bird feeders because of them even though I used squirrel baffles. They would still come after the seeds on the ground. They would walk across the overhead TV cable & landline/internet wires and chew on them as well. That would disrupt the TV and internet & phone for myself as well as a few of my neighbours as there was a small hub nearby. I was finally asked by the cable and phone companies to quit using the feeders. It was hurtful as I liked to see the many bird types and feed them during our long winter months. But I had to quit or do without my overhead wires’ reception and make neighbour’s angry. So that’s my squirrel story - so I can appreciate your Becorns one. Cheers!
Greetings David M Bird, I salute to your artistic work creation your the best your commitment to excellence has inspired so many people around the Globe keep lifting up are heart, spirit from your work of love thank you for warm wonderful sharing, wishing you all the blessings of heavenly being protect you w/good health, happiness, fortune and success with your lovely family friends 🤝✌️❤️🌎
I would definitely buy a Becorn story book for my grandchildren and learn about all their adventures. A movie would be even better!!! You are so talented.
I really enjoyed watching. Makes me feel like a kid thinking there's a becorn universe in the forest right now. Reminds me of the movie Epic! Love your imagination, craftsmanship, and execution of your vision.
No joke, I would watch a Becorns animated series. They're so cute!
Yeah I thought it would be animated when I first found them it would fit so well and you wouldn’t even have to change their design
Indeed!
I could totally see it as an adorable stop motion series!! I would live for this.
Same! Someone absolutely needs to turn this into an animated series! Squeeeeeeeee!

OMG Absolutely magical !!! Thank you so much Dave for smiles so wide !!! 🙏🐿❤️
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today????????
My favorite is the shot where the chipmunk and Junie are cheek-to-cheek.
I can't stop watching.
I have a hospital appt today, in pain, but these beautiful soulful beings are a distraction.
Thankyou❤
I can’t get enough of this. If you knew me, you wouldn’t believe that I could possibly love what you do so much. Make of that, what you want.
Love, love, love your stuff! I've always had a thing for miniatures and this is the ultimate in my mind!
What a great pass time. And I am amazed that the bluebirds weren't scared off from the interaction and changes around their nest.
I can not believe how good it feels to watch these videos. Thank you. For being courageous enough to listen to your Becorn story seeds!
Also E, F, I, J - can't choose between them.
I don't want to sound like your mom but You're adorable 🥰.... thank you for the smile....I was feeling sorry for myself... your video got me out of my petty self....🙏🌻🦋
So sweet. So happy to find your happy little world.
Absolutely adorable and you are such a nice man.
This video turned up late one night when I couldn’t sleep…..so glad I pressed play😀 incredible photos and an amazing amount of patience. Thank you for cheering me up🌞
David M, not only do I love your BECORNS, but your narration and story telling is also top notch!
My son and myself enjoyed watching these..thank you for such wholesome content.
Love your Instagram … your creations are so adorable. I’ve always loved miniatures and fairy gardens…. Your creations are so enchanting
My dear friend of 40+ years was an animator for Gumby. I just saw this channel today and I'll tell him about these darling Becorns!
I love this so much. Right away I am sharing this delightful Becorn whimsy with many family members.
Australia
Love your nature photography, your narration and your most adorable creations Davis. So happy I came across these. Carry on.
Junie 3 with the chippy coming over her shoulder... that shot is gold!!
Loved the work that went into creating each Joonie...liked all of them...
It is very exciting how the forest animals get close to these wonderful little creatures ♥️💕
Your whole idea is MAGICAL! My family is loving your videos and adventures of the Becorns!
It's incredible. The amount of patience involved and creativity. Mind blowing.
Cheers!
OMG this is the most beautiful thing I've seen, Truly stunning. You are super gifted.
Oh no, poor Joonie 😢
I'd love to see another behind the scenes episode... so fascinating!
This whole concept is delightful and a joy to hear and watch.🙏🏻💐Yeah!👏👏👏

The picture of the Becorn fighting the Squirrel with a weapon literally made me tear up, fantastic imagination you have there! Also RIP Junnie!
You're so talented and funny! Incredible imagination! I love this video, and the "Ferris Bueller" type ending topped it off perfectly 😂 lol!
I love this little series! And can't wait for episode three!
I would definitely buy a Becorn story book for my grandchildren and learn about all their adventures. A movie would be even better!!! You are so talented.
I am utterly amazed by you. Your vision, your patience, your creativity, your artistic skill, your final product. I love Becorns!
I really enjoyed watching. Makes me feel like a kid thinking there's a becorn universe in the forest right now. Reminds me of the movie Epic! Love your imagination, craftsmanship, and execution of your vision.
I subbed hoping to bingewatch more of this series to find out this was the latest one😭 i hope you decide to upload more!
I'm so obsessed with your photos. I would love if you could make becorns into a storybook for kids. My kids would love it!
Your tales make me feel so delighted! I hope lots of people find your art. You seem to be so innocent and so you are an inner-child-reminder.
I just discovered your channel. I am enamored! Absolutely love your creativity, story telling, and pictures! Thank you! Just makes me smile!
