Made this riff when he was 16... love you kirk
Jordan He was referring to Kirk writing the 'die' riff when he was 16.
Aww m8, gotta give some love to kirk as well.
Always this comment
Don't understand all the hate to Kirk..
HighRow Really Bad? uh, NO! Unorthodox, Sure, but Kirk is Great at what he does. He fills his Role Perfectly.
everytime i hear people saying that kirk is thecnically really bad, but thats not true, remember when kirk join the band, all critic, and metal head over the world were acclaiming the originality and the unorthodox style of kirk, he was one of the first speed lead thrash metal payer, and without him , blues wont be so much present in metal now a day. Now pple cringe about hi using wha, but in 80's he was considered famous cause of his skilled way to use the wha pedal. Lol 15 yo cringe kid dont know musical history.
And just with those solo, kirk proofed us to be one of the greatest guitarist of all time: Master of puppet solo, call of ktulu solo, sanitarium solo, ONE solo, dyers eve solo, fade to black solo, etc . And some beautiful riff like in trapped under ice, creeping death(die by my end :exodus) etc. Stop bullshitting kirk, without him, metal would be so different without kirk hammet.
SO many things to love about this:
--- Kirk travelling stage during solo = guaranteed no excessive wah
--- James' fuckin' beautiful guitar
--- Great tone all around
--- Hardly any phones in the air, just metalheads enjoying the moment; well done, Finland!
--- 0:38 0_o
--- Pyro is rampant, James avoids parking himself on any of it
\m/ \m/
And very aggressive performance by everyone most importantly, this concert they had good energy!
I’m surprised James is so comfortable on a stage like that, so many moving parts, especially since he’s already gotten scorched by his own pyro a while ago in Montreal
Finland is the true metal country, trust me.
Lars isn't messing up this time!
@@wildersound shitty crowds these days, just check the hämeenlinna concert, lmao.
00:38 Holy Moly! Poor Rob's Wife!
Trooper696 damn Rob slapping and fingering that bass so hard
*lucky
lfmao
Trooper696 LMFAO
The neighbors probably call the cops when they have sex.

James Hetfield, 1986: "Keep singing motherfuckers!"
James Hetfield, 2018: "Keep singing my friends!"
Victor Mendes Its almost like he’s a grown man and doesn’t have to unnecessarily swear like some angsty teenager.
Wish he still swore, I get why he stopped but it just added such an intensity when he did and made the song way more badsss
He's not a drunk, angsty teenager anymore.
at 4:32 he says _"mutha fucka yeah."_ ;)
Nothing wrong with it. We have become friends after all these decades.
3 words:
Best
Band
Ever
the random musician и деньги, dud:)
Yes!!!!!!
Ever was, is and will be.
the random musician Correction. BEST Metal band. A little band from New York (You May have heard of em) called Trans-Siberian Orchestra outclasses Metallica talent wise, production wise and physically (TSO often plays two shows a day on their annual Winter Tours).
Best band ever, indeed!
I swear the middle section of this song must be one of the heaviest and darkest melodies ever created by humanity. It's just too damn epic. It has no comparison.
kirk made it when he was 16...
But most darkest section is breakdown in ,,children of the gravee" by sabbath and whole song black sabbath by...black sabbath
Gojira : *Hold my whale*
Gojira : *Hold my whale*
@@adamkovac1991 Into the Void?
@@bcbitchkkv or riff in wizard, but most dark epic witch section is brifgr in children of the grave.. that´s fucking immortal
Brutal performance!!!
Ho yes
this energy is so raw i love it
When you realize that Metallica is much older than you, and its members are more energetic than you... +__
الاندلسي Op-Force then you don't know how to rock !!! AC/DC's still doing it too and they're a little bit older !!!
Exactly.. like they still sound young even at 55
You gotta see the video of them playing this live in the 90's, man, those fuckers ran around the stage playing this.

Domain cocaine my friend
Kids in bands.....This is the benchmark, recognize. These dudes are old enough to be your grandparents and still crush you like weak bamboo.
Piers Baron Yep
with jason in Live Seattle 1989,that's a bencmark, rob is a joke
Piers I agree, these guys still kick ass with music that most kids can't even do a karaoke version of
@@Fister_of_Muppets im a kid/teen. Im 16 and well....i dont like singing but i play drums. My dream is to become a musician and my friend plays guitar and he wants to be a musician as well.
@@sinisterskull_playz7500 I said "most" kids, not "all" kids. By all means, any kid that is interested in playing music, I encourage you all day long to do whatever it is that you feel is right.
Jesus Rob, you smash that like there is no tomorrow LMAO
That's what his wife says as well.
Rafael Estran that's what she said
That bass was pounded harder than the I in Pixar
Rafael Estran there's no tomorrow indeed brother 🤘
still miss jason
I’m not going to lie, Lars actually killed it
Cruz Garcia97 He hasn't been as lazy lately.
Douglas 5 $$$$$$$$&&&
@@douglasdouglas4379 Lars has been rich for decades, he doesnt need the money.
He's obviously been practicing more than he used to, and I also notice that he's cut his drum kit down to size. Less fluff, more function.
Lars been really working on fixing mistakes during rehearsal, even working on Kirks solos etc. I saw him going back over sections they had messed up in previous shows. So I think as a band they've really been working on their performances and it shows.
I love the bass tone...
Yohanes Widiasmoro Rob is fingering that bass like it has had 2000 D's and he needs to give his ultimate in order to satisfy it again.

THIS IS SO METAL! super fast and very heavy. you guys are super human i swear
this song and the whole album really was a major step forward in the evolution of metal, and definitely many people in the US and elsewhere's first real exposure to speed/thrash metal...if you haven't listened to Ride The Lightning all the way through in one sitting, you must. I've probably listened to it over 1000 times...Metallica's best album and probably the best LP in the genre, or very close.
oh trust me haha, ive listened to everything that is metallica. always good to feel the metal
@@BAlvn-yr6ej its their best album imo
Like you acc pic lmao
Come on guys, it's 00:08 on a Tuesday, I'm trying to sleep. Now Im in the mood for Metallica and I'm not gonna get sleep.
Mr 420Impeller hey where are you from? :D
Daniel Gonzalo The US, on the East Coast.
Mr 420Impeller
West coast still 9:40 Monday lol
Mr 420Impeller it was 7:10 here and i just woke up
Here, It's 5:55 of the morning...😂😂
Holy shit this performance was damn crazy 😝
Nigel 1990 yea especially how fast rob played that bass he was lightning
They have never sounded better than this
Finnish crowd!
We back in the 90s ? That was so brutal and awesome, every bit as tight as they were back in the day 😳
metallicJrocker Very rare for them to be this brutal nowadays, but they just showed everyone they still got it
Frayed Ends of Sanity it’s cool when they tap into this side of Metallica, amazing energy when all 4 members are feeling it like they were on this song (and this show. The Dream No More video from this same show was pretty tight and great tone as well 😉)
90s? no bro..this is early 80s material, first played live in like 83 or so....hard to believe, i know... i guess rock keeps you young
B. Alvn 84 I think since that's when RTL was released. But I think he was referring to how the band sounds here. Nonetheless, they sound pretty fucking young lol
This newest album is insane!!
0:38 Rob is insane, holy shit.
Brutal. Can’t even see his hand at that speed.
His poor wife
Master Kirk Hammett! 😍😍😍❤
Caraca, tu tá em todos os vídeos kkkk
Love him!
God, Papa Het sounds great here!
He sounds better now than he did 20 years ago.
Because its not in winter
Papa het. Ha ha ha. Are you for real.
Everyone sounds so tight here. I LOVE IT!
Arshad A Very tight🤘
its almost as if they've played this one a few times, eh? :-D
Tighter than a fresh virgin from my basement
@@frayedendsofsanity1733 wow lmao
Rob's a beast! 🤘🏼
J. P. Monge S. he is of both wolf and man
All of them were beasts in this performance
Jason is the beast. Miss ya Jase!!!
Rob is like a freacking machine like i swear,he moves his fingers so damn fast like wth.
J. P. Monge S. And Jason was satan
This performance seriously rivals Seattle '89, and that's almost impossible to do.
Deadpool That's one of My Favorite Shows Ever!
is there a link to that?

B. Alvn it was released as part of MetallicA Live Shit Binge & Purge Box Set... Great Stuff! 🤘👩🎤
Amazing crowd Finns people
🇫🇮🇫🇮 soumi perkele..
greetings from Aizawl
Trujillo Slap Machine ! Bass destroyer on 0:38 !
Rob and Jason always put on their A game when playing Cliff's songs,Absolutely amazing performance!
James is so badass!
They are at the peak of their career.. They have never sounded this good as far as i remember.. And this is how a legendary band makes history..
for their age they really sound amazing - especially james - but this is definetly not the peak of their career - every single show of their from the release of MoP till 93-94ish tops this one by miles
Seattle 89' would like to have word with you..
Sound clarity and production is way much better.. Also james voice is more mature and smoother.. Also they have a shit tone more difficult songs now to perform than 1990
Moscow's creeping death was better imo
The solo is way harder than you think and Kirk nailed that
No he did not that was horrible
Sounds like in the 90s. Fucking awesome performance!
Rob sounded awesome here!!!!!
Hey my favourite band still kicks ass. Love you loads guys keep up the brilliant work and please come to India soon. I am waiting.
Says the one that has a megadeth profile picture
I also live in india. But they just won't come here 😖
James Hetfield yeah because liking 2 different bands is an abstract concept
It has 69 likes... I'm not gonna destroy that!
0:24 holy shit!!!! James is that you!!?? 💪💪💪💪💪
Gerardo Espinoza yes
Valtteri Hakio He sounds fucking powerful!!!!!
Of course!beast mode
4:39 Jason..........
The band and this song will forever be incomplete without him..
Best live performance of this song that didn't involve Jason Newstead screaming like the devil himself.
3:11 fucking goosebumps man. fucking awesome moment. crowd music everything, fuccking brutal!
OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS TIGHT!
Holy shit
Such badass performance, such badass musicians, such badass camera takes, such brutality
This video made my day
You Guys,you gave us 90's..
Thanks a lot !
Holy shit!!! They’re in good shape!! They sound amazing
How it is even possible, that there is such a wonderful band like Metallica. I love them so much, Kirk's guitar is fire!!!
Papa Het’s vocals in this song are the best he’s sounded since big 4 Moscow 1991
Not the Big 4, The Monsters Of Rock
Wtf this tempo is fast, fast like the old days
Puts U.S. crowds to shame.
Konner Rinehart US crowds are possibly the worst
i dont feel like headbanging
*I FEEL LIKE BURNIN CHURCHES*
No phones, I'm astonished!
So we're just ignore Seattle '89. Aight then...
Seriously tho
Hell yeah. That was an incredible performance.
ngl i feel like kirk's ability to rhythm guitar with James is underrated
Thanks for being there, and overall in the whole universe 'Tallica. You're a big source of inspiration to many people, including me!
Creepin Death has been one of my favorite Tallica songs fer over 20 years, plus. Fantastic! 🤘🏻
What a super tight and awesome performance! Holy balls
Great Bass sound.
How is it that in 30+ years this song continues to be one of my favorite songs to see performed live? Every time I see it in whatever venue or time frame it's simply one of the best.
DAMN SON they kicked ass this time :D it's beautiful
Was super good from 1st row, best performances for a long time guys!
Brasil, Belo Horizonte! Queremos MetallicA!!!!

Whoa. Incredible. Amazing.
one of the best performances in a while
Happy new year! Lets hope we Get a year filled with Metallica concerts and no covid 😎🤘🏽 cheers from a huge Metallica fan from Norway
They upload twice in one day, the second happens to be my favourite live song....... I could’ve gotten hit by a truck today but it still woulda been great 👍🏻
This Creeping Death F****en Rocks! One of the best of the Tour!!
This was sooooo epic!
So freaking good. I don't think it can be stated enough just how awesome it is to see them kicking such ass *still* on a 34 year old song that still sounds as potent as ever. I really think we are damn spoiled beyond belief as fans.
The filming and production level overall seemed just a notch higher here too. The only thing I wish was that James' vocals were a little louder in the mix. I'm wondering if this is a sign of a full live release from this show?
Omg mr Kirk.....Awesome
Absolute stunning performance
Love this album
Wow, this is even better than the Through the Never version! Holy shit.
*This is Absolutely 100% One Hell of Performance* 🔥
This is my generation at the stage and in audience. It is so f.. ng great to feel this energy and be so f... ng excited in almost 50. Metallica, thanks so much!
One of my favorite Metallica songs 🔥
Love all the songs on the album 🤘✨
OMG Metallica their are back with amazing sound!!!!!
HOLY BASS!!!!!
I think this song was the highlight of this very gig. Awesome!
i just finished watching a november 2017 concert of G&R reunited.... i stopped half way through and put my head into my hands. I physically felt my heart hurt..... so bad guys.....
So I did the only sane thing and immediately ran to Metallica's recent footage. Thanks for never letting me down. ,\m/
0:37 I'm sorry but this is why we got Rob. Dude is on another level in this performance.
Rob slapping the BASS so HARD
awesome performance just epic
Amazing recording
O visual dessa turnê é espetacular, não vejo a hora em que seja lançado em DVD!🤘
Wagner Ribeiro de Santana Incrível cara... Um espetáculo a parte 🤘
Concordo! A turnê do Death Magnetic gerou 3 DVD's, estou ansioso para algum DVD dessa turnê!!!
Juan Rezende essa turnê parece mais imprecionante que o show Quebec Magnetic, que já era incrível!
It's 6:53 in the morning, best way to start the day
CANT WAIT to see you guys in October!!! Metallica is my favorite band in the world!!! METALLICA RULES!!!!!!!
Whoua ! AMAZING !
3:30 is where we need jasons backing vocals to kick in
Rob compensates at 0:38 but yes I also miss the screams
awesome crowd! very loud.
Thank you Cliff Burton. What an epic story and a musical composition that perfectly fits the subject matter... Legendary song!
May you rest in peace.
Just luv this
03:40 That's some Lord of the rings shit
Leandro Gutierrez What does that even mean lol
Just James standing like a god with the crowd in the background. Lol just reminded me of Sauron and his army
GROND! GROND! GROND!
Leandro Gutierrez haha exactly, but just a much larger army!
Leandro Gutierrez TO WAAAAAARRRR!!!!!!
Fuck, Metallica have the fire back in their live shows. This was an epic performance. Band Chemistry is on point here...
From the first time hearing this song I loved it!
Out of all the concert footage I see here, this is my fave to see played live
A Beast of a song
Mr Trujillo is on fire🔥🔥🔥
16 year old making this riff, nobody had any idea how iconic it would become!
