    I bought a Korg Volca Keys last year and I have taken it out of the box mayyyyybe 3 times. I didn't know what to do with it. But seeing a video like this inspires me to take it out the box again.

    I like the relaxed sound of the song. It's great to have some mellow synth to listen to.

    This is beautiful! A true demonstration that expensive gear is not necessary to create nice tracks!

    Thanks for the clarification in the description - it's not always easy for non-synth heads like myself to figure out what a machine is actually responsible for! Cool track!

      no probs! to be a bit clearer, all the FX (reverb, delay etc) are happening in the DAW as well

    I have been on the fence for a while about getting one of these. I have removed myself from the fence after this video. Wow.

    Well damn. Nicely done! Sounds like I need to try sequencing this thing with Ableton- It really sounds like it makes a difference in terms of consistency. I'm so used to playing these with the onboard keyboard but this sounds so much more solid.

    • @Luministmusic
      @Luministmusic  6 років тому

      definitely try it! you can get so much more control out of these by using external MIDI sequencing

    One day, I hope to be as amazing synthesizer like you. Suppose I have to make do with the simplistic Famitracker program. :P

    How would you compare the sound of the keys compared to the mono or micro. They sound different to me so it might be worth having. I think i would try FM first or the sample. The track you made sounds really nice. It had a light almost feedback sound for a few seconds on that first adjustment but made a really great sound throughout.

      Remi Moore I like the FM more than the volca keys ...in fact thinking of selling the keys and getting a Yamaha reface dx.

    To be honest, this is maybe the 54th time I watched this small video, its so well crafted and beautiful music, thank you for this! I always wonder what effects you used, especially on the last darker sounding recordings. Could you give us a little more info on the processing? Would be wonderful!

    • @Luministmusic
      @Luministmusic  5 років тому +2

      thanks for the kind words! it's reverb and delay, but automated to gradually have more "wet" instead of "dry" signal, as the synth's filters close off and get darker

    Hey I'd love to see how you made these patches. Especially the arp. I'm struggling with sound design and this is the style I want!

    • @Luministmusic
      @Luministmusic  5 років тому

      hey thx for stopping by! it's a bit hard to see the knob positions in this video - but the volca keys is really simple. just a raw sawtooth wave being modulated by low pass filter sweeps. it sounds like I had a slight pitch warble LFO happening as well (but more subtle than with the pad sound). super fast attack, super fast decay/release, and low sustain will give you a snappy arp sound, hope that helps : )
