Yup that was a good camp mate..... Always unsettles me slightly when I meet someone else the stealth camping. Inevitable though 😉Great gear and a very relaxing vid. Cheers👍
Cheers Marty. Yes mate it was a really simple relaxed camp .Yeahp most people ( although I try to avoid them 😂) are ok when you see them about but I do like to be discreet when I'm getting near or am at my spot. Usually no probs but often have a spell where I've got my eye out. I find doing camp chores projects etc take your mind off worrying about other people. Anyway take care bud 👌❤
Good evening. Thank you Darren . Was a real chilled time in the woods. Always makes me want to get out more but sadly not always possible. Hope you're well , many thanks for your kind words 👌🏕
That was a great, interesting camp Mark. And some interesting comparisons on the use of different types of gear. We all dream of heading off into the horizon, camping along the way Mate. Cheers 👍
Thank you Giles. Yes it would be nice to just be able to head off wander, camp ,wander camp for a few days Was a really nice time out though so should be thankful for what I can do instead of mulling over what I can't . Anyway hope you are good . Appreciate the view mate . Take care 👌🏕
What a lovely overnighter mate very mellow. Excellent gear and set up, I've not tried a wool blanket yet, I've got one but I've got to dye it this weekend as it is white 😂 You've got a lovely spot there mate thanks for taking us along 👍
Cheers bud. Yeah , it was nice . Always yearn for other places but I am lucky to have that forest nearby . Do like using a wool blanket , have their pros and cons though. Take care mate and good luck with dyeing your blanket 😂 👍 🏕
Hello Mark, how are you? The good weather is back, it’s nice! Also very happy to see you again in video, thank you very much for sharing and all these beautiful, very nice videos that you offer us! THANKS ! Laurent
@@treksntarps I am fine thank you. I just came back from doing a few hikes and I'm resting from a hard week watching your videos. I ll work After for post that. Thanks
Found your channel tonight. Commented on an older one. I suspect this is good for your mental health. I feel like I really need to get out at the moment. I haven’t done this since my youngest was born. I think 1 or 2 nights with my kits and a little radio a brew kit a few tins and a smoke and just be in nature and decompress would do me a world of good. Living vicariously through you watching this vid tonight. Would love to be out there somewhere right now! Love your vids man ✌🏻
Thank you. Yes it does help me reset and put things into perspective. Life can be so rushed and stressful and half the time there is no need for it to be. Hope you manage to get out now and then ,even if it's for a wander and a little stop off somewhere in the daytime. Take care and thank you for watching 🏕️👍
Hi Mark, really enjoyed this one mate, nicely chilled out, simple camp, cant beat that buddy. Getting the right sleep mat for every camp I find a nightmare mate. I do have more luck in my big hammock, I have a Haven flat lay and its brilliant. Bloody heavy mind you for what it is, but happy to carry the weight for the comfort. Really entertaining mate, love watching the adventures, so keep the videos coming. Big thumbs up and regards, Moose
Cheers Moose. Yeah the sleepmat was ok but not the most comfortable thing in the world . Did find an errant pine cone or 2 under it in the morning though 😂. Only really used a hammock as part of a sort of base camp set up but not spent the night in one. Going to have to at some point. I have the dd travel hammock that doubles as a ground bivvy/bug mesh thingy. Have to try it out soon. Take care and look after yourself 👍🏕
Nice camp Mark , I was out on what can be loosely termed a bikepacking over nighter yesterday and trying to go lighter forsook the hammock I bought a Lomo blow up mat , very impressed with it about £30 quid nice and long about 190cm and slept on my side Only good for the summer though r rating of 2 but had a good nights kip .That Wilma’s stuff is excellent I swear by it .Thanks for taking the time as always Mate all the best Mick
@@hackneeey Sounds good mate. I do have a couple of inflatables but veer away from them a bit. They are more comfy though . Might start taking one to add to a foam mat or the waxed canvas one. Can always pile leaves or brush under it if the mat lets me down . Adds a bit more weight but I think I was a pack horse in a previous life 😂. Always seem to be lugging stuff about. Anyway thanks for watching bud and take care 👍🏕
Nice one Mark, enjoyed that. Your videos always have a calming influence! I always enjoy your simple setups and that Savotta pad looks very nice indeed. I keep thinking of getting one as I've grown accustomed to sleeping on foam pads over the years. But, I totally get what you were saying about air mats, they're lovely and comfortable, I always get anxious about puncturing them and reserve them for when I fancy a treat! Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers Barney. Yeah the sleep pad is pretty good do like it but as you say an inflatable has that comfort level but doubts over durability. Could always bring a small inflatable to I suppose. Take care bud 👌🏕
Mate, I've not long woken up on the sofa 😂 can't sleep so watched this, such a chilled out camp, lovely to see you out again. Loving the set up as usual.
Does that wind break/reflector thing bounce much heat back and does it pack light? Useful if it does kick the heat back with a basha. I also use a bush box style stove and if it was really cold and you had plenty of fuel I can imagine as long as you feed it something like that could work
Yes mate it is reflective and kicks back a fair amount of heat. The old twig stove does need nearly constant tending if you want it for a constant heat source though. Take care and thanks for watching 👍🏕️ Take care and t
How did the Swagman Roll and wool blanket perform during your night in the forest, and what were your impressions of their comfort and durability? Also, are you on Facebook / Insta? I'd love to connect and hear more about your outdoor camping experiences and insights! Let's keep in touch!
Hi . The swagman and wool blanket worked together nicely on that occasion . Had the swagman half open like a quilt first half of the night then went in to sleeping bag mode. A bit tight but ok. The durability is fairly good , not as a robust as a wool blanket but does the trick . Not sure how the combo would work in colder conditions without a fire. Just have to test these things out I suppose. I am on insta. Take care and thanks for watching 🏕👍
Hi . I think the shooter actually owns land round here but not the bit I was on. Not really any hills round here but lucky to have some nice woodland and not to far from some nice coastline. Thanks for watching bud 👍 take care 🏕
