wait, what the hell is that sub 3 design? why? illuminate me!
The 50 army XP you can save from the -5% reduction to doctrine was wasted by building your division without any discount. You can just pick motorization effort from mobile warfare and get a 100% XP discount on all tank and motorized battalions. Basically saving you 80-100 XP.
And if you switch doctrines after that, it will switch the discount to the appropriate one for the doctrine. So if you start with superior firepower, select the discount you can build out your infantry, then selecting the mobile, it switches you automatically to motor drive discount. So if planning on making expensive divisions it suddenly lt becomes wery cheap. Definetly OP if done correctly :)
Bro who cares? Just go to war and get a ton of xp
Alsace-Lorraine fought over by the French and Germans for years

In the tank designer there's an "auto-upgrade" checkbox. If you tick it on your design you will get a new design based on it for free every time you research a better chassis or module of the same type, e.g. basic medium chassis to improved medium chassis, or radio 1 to radio 2. This can save you quite a bit of XP.
Just discovered the free chassis upgrade. Game changer
Even though Paradox marked NSB's main gimmick being the tank designer. I got to say that I think the XP and Land-Doctrine research has got be the best thing added in any DLC. Think about it. XP has always been there. XP only being important to create a new template or upgrade ships, tanks, and planes. Now there is a whole new important reason. Compare this to the Spy system, where you can easily play a game without investing into spies and it would run almost the same.
Only issue though, for a nation like Russia. It tends to struggle to get it's land doctrines. Especially if you go through a civil war.
My only problem with it is how slow it is to get especially from training, but yeah, its honestly one of the best thing from NSB
wouldnt it be easier to get doctrines if you get exp from a civil war?
To be fair, it is currently the only nation to be balanced around this new system.
Spies give you intel which is important in battles, other than that they aren’t super worth it I agree.
Looked like you where struggling with AI over stacking in Germany. There is a button on your supply depots that remove allied supply, all the supplies will go to you and they will mostly leave your front line.
But this only works on supply depots in your territory/under your ownership right?
@@blondeguy08 yes
@@blondeguy08 what a stupid fcking question. Duh! You think we can control enemy supply depots without capturing them?

15:43 They do upgrade as the general levels up, the percents go up at skill 6 and skill 8. I actually find myself using that a lot more then I thought I would, especially as countries like the USSR who don't have the greatest army advisors.
More you know
Dave: Nothing really worth researching so going to go ahead on industry.
Also Dave: We need support equipment, and it hasn’t been researched…
🤣

Yes
5:25 horse cavalry with motorised logistics was actually tested by the US in the interwar period, they found it to be OP in rough terrain. (hence they kept horse cavalry even during ww2 and used in rough terrain)
To this very day there are horseback and mule operations manuals. Its still a thing in alot of the world in 2022.
General Cedillo is read like "Tsediyo" or "Sediyo". C before e in spanish is read like "s" while double l is read like "y" in "yo"
also, Calles is pronounced like "Kayes". C before a in spanish is pronounced like "k"
I still think cheaping out on the gun is a really bad idea for tanks. With a small cannon you save what? Sure the gun itself is cost efficient, but you also have to pay for the tank you put it in, so you have to compare total tank costs instead of gun costs only. The cheap tank costs 6 instead of 9 production, but compared to a close support gun only has 15 vs 25 soft attack? In this example you can either have 80 combat width worth of expensive tanks with a total of 1000 soft attack or 120 combat width worth of cheap tanks with 900 total soft attack. Sure the cheap tanks have more total hp and are easier to replace but tanks were never be meant to be cost efficient but to fit the most firepower into the smallest possible combat width to locally overwhelm the enemy. Its a totally different story with support tanks for infantry divisions (e.g. flame tanks), but for deadicated breakthrough divisions cheap guns are not at all the meta.
Also the howitzers are now insane, 35 and then 45 soft attack for a 2-width tank brigade is almost double of what artillery gets per combat width. Against AI I find hard attack useless as soft attack can easily kill even enemy tank divisions if you are the attacker.
My first priority is breakthough and armour. Then I focus on soft attack. Saying that I do think soft attack is important for tanks
Your tanks got really expensive at the end because armor costs are multiplicative. It would be a *lot* more cost effective if you took some armor off the tanks, replaced one of your 12 tank battalions with a small-gunned TD, and maxed out the TD's armor instead. Remember that division armor is 30% max armor of a single battalion, 70% the actual average of the division.
if u send an attache to spain or china u get 10 ws so u can get 25 and enact partial mobilization for 30% more civ in 37 100pp for 10ws is op
Spains a waste. Wars too quickly over
@@DaveFeedBackGaming why i go for china it can drag on 38 to 41. but u dont do it for the xp but for the 10ws just to bump into 25 or 50

15:30 you simply ship the desk to him on the front lines so he can do his desk job while leading the army at the same time.

4:41 And you would be correct! The Double L in Spanish is pronounced as a “ye” sound. So it would be pronounced “Cayes” and “General Caudiyo”
Making generals advisors makes them upgradable through leveling, every 2 levels starting at level 4

I’ve been playing a lot of Mexico games recently; like, an unhealthy amount. What I’ve found as a good focus tree strategy is to alternate between Cedillo focuses and whichever direction you really wanna go (Nationalized Oil, Catholicism/Fascism/Communism). As long as Cedillo tensions are moderate or lower, he doesn’t really cause much harm to economic or military growth, it’s just a stability modifier. The tension increases also run on a 150ish day timer, so you can do anywhere from 1-3 focuses before choosing another Cedillo-related focus.
I like going down the “March Southward” route for the cores on Central America, so I try to speed down one of the two trees as quick as possible before the major powers start getting involved; if I try to take care of Cedillo first and foremost, I find that I lose a lot of time.
I was shocked, however, to find out about supporting the Spanish Left for all that experience. I’ll have to try it on my next play through.
Rushing the wars and coring is the best way to grow
I've seen him support Caudillo before.
Italy gaining Alsace-Lorraine is really something else
One time I tried playing Mexico, I was so excited for unlimited XP through the magic button... then for some reason the Spanish civil war only lasted for about a month. I'd rushed that path of the focus tree and everything lol
Day 2 of Ethiopia World Conquest
So something I have noticed a lot with this latest DLC and the changes to supply, Germany has greater issues with breaking into France that they used to.
I've been trying to play as Catholic Communist Mexico Recently. That shit hit different. You don't really have to worry about the civil wars at all (and sure they are easy to cheese but man power can be an issue for mexico early on), -10% consumer goods with union boss + catholic bonuses, and if you get real lucky (and are playing ahistorical) you can get twise the XP from spain by supporting both the republicans and the the Anarcho-communists. It feels good man.
I like that idea
I literally just found myself watching your old mexico guide where you take over most of the americas with infantry, and found myself thinking "hmmm ok now how can i do this with tanks+subs"
Nice lmao
I want to combine the two though, take over the southern countries from the last guide with tanks+sub build from this one
I always start my doctrines as GBP, bonus for countries that start as this, and use the theater training spirit to get myself an officer with Brilliant Strategist and Inflexible Strategist if they don't have one. Then switch to whatever I want to run usually SFP or MW. This works well on Mexico since you get so much "free" xp. Sometimes you get lucky and get the strategist trait plus something else that's useful like commando(I use SF troops a lot so the commando desk job is a nice boost). Japan and China are really the easiest countries to cheese the desk jobs with since they start fighting so early and you can farm it out as long as you want and keep grinding those generals.
And Italy?
@@DaveFeedBackGaming definitely but italy can't grind as much because poor ethipia just runs out of people and guns after a while and the SCW just isn't what it used to be
They do get upgraded as their level gets higher it’s automatic
This is your best video yet
"We'll make 3 of those." Makes 4. Love ya Dave.
I haven't built tanks in awhile, CAS supporting infantry takes the day now.
Wouldn’t radio upgrades give you more bang for the buck with that breakthrough stopping your division from getting as much destroyed equipment and also increasing your effectiveness in the fight
Yes, but the older radios aren't very cost effective
I am not worthy for this knowledge. Thank you.
if you were going for calvary, why not keep your tanks at 6kmph?
Don't cavalry bonuses also apply to motorized and mechanized? Using actual cavalry in your tank divisions seem awfully weird and inefficient.
"We make 3 of those" ques 4 :)
Dave I've been playing Old World Blues and it is SO good I demand modded content at some point please I love you.
It's on my radar
Man, OWB is its own game with its own mechanic. Its the first mod I ever just threw money at as it felt guilty playing a mod that was more content than the past 4 DLCS.

You only get tank designer with this dlc? I want flame tanks.

On god, I was playing as Colombia now I can't even fuck venezuela up early on
Why do you never take the army corps option that gives free tanks and motorized divisions so you dont pay 5xp for each? Especially when you focus so much on army corps in general.

Ohhhh yeaaaaa...
I want to know how on earth your ships get so much XP. I'm playing as Germany with 6 stacks of subs being built full time - auto assigned into a TF which has been set to training. As they get to Level 3 XP they go into the reserve fleet. Ships that won't ever get used such as the mine warfare cruisers and old coastal defense BB's just sit in the training TF all day long. And you're getting more XP per day than I am. What am I doing wrong?

Can anyone tell my why free trade is good? I always think its not worth especially if you're a small nation with no resources.
In this scenario you will be giving away nothing, cuz you don't have more (which isn't that big deal), but you get quite nice bonuses to research and building speed.
