What color is it. I originally wanted my truck that color. But it came out lighter. I was one of the first to do raptor liner and I wish there would of been more videos like this.
I have a good friend who owns a spray in bed liner business up here in Alaska. Before he opened his shop he searched for the very best product to handle Alaskan weather. He determined , hands down , that Armadillo Liners Spray-In Bedliner was best. I hardly ever hear of its use. That's marketing for you . It really is a superior product .
Thanks for watching. Please try the links in the description to Amazon if you are thinking about trying it out. I get compliments on the texture every time someone is checking it out.
I came over as your on the wj group on facebook. I'm in the uk. I'm planning on painting mine with the same stuff in the summer. Your truck looks awesome mate love the side window hatch
I would buy the adjustable gun (check the links in the description) and spray a very fine texture. Good luck on your project. Thanks for watching. Don't forget guys to subscribe and hit the bell! Trying to hit 10k subs this month.
Very nice job, Looks Great. I've done my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the Spray Can Bedliner to all the plastic, inside Wheelwells, My Gas Tank, And my Wiperblade Holders And It Look Great.
6" Clayton springs and brackets. Axle truss, I made the arms with Bushing one end, Jonny Joints the other. Look back in my videos where I go through the process. Thanks for watching.
That turned out awesome! The color and texture look really consistent, just what I was hoping to see. I’ve seen Raptor once in person and it looked great, but it was the regular black version and shot by a veteran painter. I’m planning to use this on the floors in my XJ and Wagoneer, the latter will be tinted to the factory blue color... 👍
Awesome side window man love it. I’d like to paint my truck like that do I tell the paint store I need Omni tinted base without binder in 2019 Chrysler ceramic gray?
Thanks for the video! I am about to Raptor my Tacoma and I have a few questions. 1) I noticed that you had 2 different answers between two of your videos on the quantity that you used. How many bottles did it take total between grey for the body and black for everything else? I have a double cab tacoma with the 6” bed and I’m thinking that I will need 8 bottles of tintable for the body and 4 bottles of black for the front bumper, bed, hitch, wheel wells and the hard backflip bed cover. Sound about right? 2) Did you use an etching primer or adhesion promoter for any plastic parts or edges? If so, did you use the Raptor spray cans and how many? 3) I saw another guy say that he added a paint thinner and higher psi to get a nice even texture that wasn’t too rough. Did you do any of that? 4) Does the decal badges stick to the Raptor easily? Or is there a trick to get them to stick back on? I want to buy new black tacoma badges for my truck after I spray it. Thanks Again!
Sorry I missed this comment. I believe I used 7 grey and 3-4 black. I did not use adhesion promoter just sanded and cleaned very well. Yes you can thin and use an adjustable gun for finer spray patterns Decals stuck fine with .06" foam double sided tape. Hope your project goes well.
I like your rig the best of all the ones I have watched on UA-cam. You are the first one I have seen that has done a 2200 mile cross country shake down run!!!!! I have been wanting to build an expedition rig.. Yours turned out so good I have decided to follow your lead when building my own. I have a DIY 20K budget.. looking for the right donor vehicle. Could you do a video on Budget, most difficult part and things you would do different?
Dude Go for it you will not regret it. I have many videos coming including a budget breakdown, why I think the WJ makes a great Expedition rig and many other upgrade vids. Thanks for watching. Please like, share and Sub (don't forget to click the bell!)
I am really liking the Raptor. I had it in the woods over the weekend. Some tight wooded sections with branches. I could see some "scratches" but after a rain the next day it was gone. Seems very durable. I will do a follow up video in a year to see how it is holding up.
Wow, I've watched a lot of these and yours definitely turned out the best of all of them. Also, I learned you can wait hours to take the tape off, if I understood correctly. So all of that was only four bottles?
Maybe its best for me to drop off my WJ. So far I have the 5 JK wheels and a slight lift. I will leave the rest to you and watch the progress on You Tube
Check out the video a few before this one where I do the black under carriage and wheel wells. I think I cover the prep there a bit. Thanks for watching.
still on my list of things to do but unfortunately sales of WJ parts is slow to non-existent so it has been hard to prioritize it. none of the hardware is available new as I can find. And forming the panel is difficult.
Check out some of my earlier videos. There is a 4 part series devoted to it. The Molle rack for the inside is available on my website www.echelondesignworks.com. Thanks for watching don't forget to like sub share and hammer the bell!
Awesome job !! I was wanting to do this to my WJ but ended up trading it in on a JK... So the JK will get this instead !! Wouldn't it have been easier to set the whole bottle on the scale and zero it out first and then add the other liquids ???
Yeah unless you over pour. My original plan was to dump all of them into a bucket and add the colorant all at once in a big batch. Then put it back in the containers. That way it would insure the exact same color throughout. But I changed my mind at the last minute. Worked out fine. I don't notice any color differences.

Wow I would love to do that to my fj cruiser
That is the best , front bumper I've ever seen on a Jeep period .

By far the nicest looking rear fender trim job I've seen on youtube so far...man I'm jealous...rig looks amazing.
Wow, thanks!
The build is so clean and with a lot of attention to details. Great work!

Very cool video. Much more thorough than I expected for a DIY Bedliner job.
Thanks for watching. Please try the links in the description to Amazon if you are thinking about trying it out. I get compliments on the texture every time someone is checking it out.
Me too, I thought the whole point of this raptor liner was minimal prep... same amount of prep as when painting normally.
A 2nd on the tire carrier. Very nice work on the WJ
Thank you!
Dude that's a badass ride! Just the right amount of red accents.
Thank you.
This is an awsome build!!! Im loving the rear side window.
Thank you. We love it too.

Do the door seals still do their job?
I was concerned about that and sprayed a lighter texture in the jams. But seems to seal just fine with no road or wind noise. Thanks for watching.
Great news, may do the same myself.
Keep 12 to 14 inches from the material, it will take care of the different sheen issue
You are an artist sir!!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
That’s a really good looking later-model Cherokee!
Thank you.

I think it was 7 grey and 3 black on the wheel wells and gas tank skid area.

Wow, really nice job! Looking at doing this in the future and I’d be really happy with those results.

loving this WJ build series.
Another trick is to spray a UV clear after, which will keep a new sheen look for years.
Thats is really bad ass! I wanna do this to my 4runner also want that back glass mod

Looks beautiful 😍 I love the color.
you really did a super job with it..

2 Liters of black in wheel wells, 7 on the body and bumper.

Thanks!
Love that color!
Thanks for watching!
Looks good!
Thanks Dude!
do you use only one kit of 4 bottles por the entire truck? was enough?
I used 7 grey and 3-4 black. I did all the door jams, under hood etc.
Didn't necessarily come to watch the video for the raptor liner. I wanted to see that window. Great idea I really like it.
There is a 4 part series on my channel on the window mod.

What color code is the grey paint u used??
It was 2019 Chrysler ceramic grey.
Hope mine turns out as good.
Prep it well and practice on a test panel to get your spray pattern right.
Any issues with the door seals leaking when the door is closed from spraying the door jambs with a textured surface? Looks great
Not that we have noticed.
How you clean your gun after you done for feature projects?
Just use solvents just like normal paint gun cleaning. I like to spray some thinner through then soak the parts in a cup.
Thanks
Really nice video jeep looks great. What kind gray is that.
Custom mix of Chrysler Ceramic grey 2019
Great paint work .
Can cleaner coat be painted on top of raptor ?
Yes, absolutely
Hi, love the raptor job . A bit question, how do you stick the 'jeep' logo and 'grand cherokee' to the raptor paint?
Yes double sided tape.
Nice WJ! Is there a video of the body prep before hand?
Check out the video a few before this one where I do the black under carriage and wheel wells. I think I cover the prep there a bit. Thanks for watching.
How did you get all the orange lettering brother? Just pulled them off and sprayed them?
We made them in house on our CO2 laser. episode coming soon.
@@SpiralDesignWorks Wow....totally jealous lol
any better closeups of the jams? I'm curious to see how thin you got the raptor liner to spray
It looks about like 80 grit sandpaper in the jams. Where the body with the open spray gun looks like a really bumpy orange, smooth but bumpy.
you can clear coat it right after you shoot for an even shine
Yes you can clear it.
That looks awesome
Thank you!
Nice job bro! 👍👍👍👍👍 I am digging this Raptor liner. I will do this to my 4Runner
Thank you, Please consider using my links in the description if you decide to do your project.
That’s badass
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
How many leaders did you use to cover the jeep?
I used 3 black and 4 grey
That is a beautiful WJ. How many bottles of liner did you use? The red accents really pop with the grey. Very nicely done.
2 Liters of black on the wheel wells and the tank. 7 liters on the body. The accent color is orange FYI. Thank you for watching.
Sorry 😁 being color blind makes it hard to get the colors right.
No worries. I almost did red.
What was the color you added to the liner to get that gray? Like what was the exact color?
2019 Chrysler Ceramic Grey

How did you do the door jams? Did you leave the doors open all night?
We sprayed the jams and by the time we cleaned up and removed the paper etc it was ready to spray the body.

No not at this time. We are booked up for at least 6 months.
Were 4 containers enough to evenly coat the WJ twice? Saw they have a kit with 6 bottles but wasn't sure.
I used 7 bottles of grey and 3 or 4 black on wheel wells and gas tank area.

This is 2019 Chrysler ceramic grey. You can buy the tintable raptor and have a local paint supply mix the color or buy the pre done raptor colors.
