Roger Waters paying his respects to his Grandfather. Looks like he was a WW I vet killed in action. Too many people today take for granted the freedoms they have and not pay respect. To the soldiers who fought and died for those freedoms. I salute you Mr. Waters.

It is his FATHER's grave he is visiting with his daughter and two sons.
He was killed at Anzio in Italy as was my Uncle. Roger's fathers death was an motivation for much of Roger's later work especially The Wall.
It was his grandfathers grave, he then went to his fathers after in the movie.

Eric Fletcher Waters was his Father, killed in 1944 at Anzio Bridge, he was in the Royal Fusiliers, Z Company/8th Battalion. His name is only on a memorial at the nearby Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at Cassino, near Rome, but his remains were never found.
The grave is his grandfather George Henry Waters was in the Royal Engineers died in 1916, the grave suggests that his body was buried in Maroeuil British Cemetery.
