Did you see what Sean did there at the end of Jon’s “weekend daddy” bit?
He saw that it didn’t go down that well and quickly chimed in so that there was a laugh to bring it to a proper end.
Same thing he did with "challenging wank"
Reminded me of Jimmy Carr's story about Sean's support for him after the tax avoidance thing- he said "don't worry, we'll get through this" and then went straight in with the jokes because he knew if people laughed about jimmy, they'd not dislike him, and it's become a running gag which Jimmy happily plays up to.
Nah he was making fun of him. I didn’t hear him in fact. He was just saying to Jon. I think it was “You should get more acting lessons” or something like that.

I like to think that's why it works so well- it let people who knew the film in on the gag, while leaving everyone else waiting for a punchline that didn't come.

@@borismuller86 ….Watched the first episode and was hooked, the bath scene is darkly comic and sets the tone for the entire show. I must’ve watched the complete thing about 5 times and funnily enough always notice somethin different….like jokes are set up in one series then pay off in another…..the cutting of the nipples out the t-shirt is a personal favourite 😂😂😂

I got the City Slickers speech about 5 words in. The first pub that would serve us beer as 15 year olds had this odd habit of during the day they would play the movie City Slickers pretty much on a loop until the evening and over the course of one young drunken summer I'm fairly confident I'm somehow able to recite the whole movie
