I love this! Reminds me of Renée Flemings, but just a bit cleaner - less scooping.

This is a fantastic way to learn arias. You can be sure you have the melody and structure of the aria learned so then you can get down to polishing of your pronunciation and then inject the whole thing with the correct emotions. Please keep posting these. They're brilliant.👍👍🎵🎶🎵🎶🎼🎼

Oh dear...She begins far too dark in colour, subsequently continuing like some harridan in a jealous rage. It mostly sounds very pressed and hard vocally--where's the "heart's ease"? This aria was not meant to be a caricature--this is not a Fiordiligi I wish to sympathize with. This is Mozart's inspiration taken down a few notches. Remember what he said about the role of Osmin in Die Entfuehrung: the passions should never be out of balance. I will only make passing reference to the scooping and almost screaming high C. The musical direction is basically mediocre.

let’s hear you sing it then! gosh I will never understand UA-cam opera critics who can dish it out but will never understand what it’s like to actually sing opera and how different bodies and voices interpret each body of work. unless you actively work in this industry, we don’t wanna hear it. must be a sad life leaving harsh critiques on opera videos all day long oof 😂

@@whatdoyousuppose I mean the man just gave his honest and informative ideas, asking for more inspiring musical direction. A more lovable and tender Fiordiligi (with balanced passion) is quite reasonable IMO. Some Mozart lovers aspire to higher standards.

I respectfully disagree! I think this role absolutely needs a plummy chest voice. Indeed the "passions would be out of balance" if that ballast were missing. I found the high C quite fine with a very clean attack. A few of the triplets were smudged, and I felt she lunged too much into the turns in the cantabile portions, but altogether a fine interpretation. I'm also a fan of Barenboim, especially when it comes to Mozart. Too often Mozart is drained of vigor, as if conductors were frightened we would no longer recognize him as Mozart if performed with frankness instead of preciousness!

@@whatdoyousupposeFlawed logic. One shouldn't need to be a Michelin-starred chef to criticize food, so why should one need to be a professional opera singer to criticize singing? Ridiculous.
