That is amazing! All those treasured antiques could make for great stories of the past. Those storage structures could literally be turned into a museum.
It's not uncommon to find these old draws, where you push one in and another pops out, but some where designed purposely to have this instrumental effect. So cool! 😃
@@runAwayJapan They are cool 😀 I didn't know that about those drawers thanks for the info. What would be really interesting is to play a tune on those drawers. 🎶😀
Dean, keep the sword, we'll take Keiji :-) He is a bright, curious, and fun lad! The house looks great--how is the insulation and heating system? Those are two things that one often finds less than optimal in Japanese houses, from what I have seen so far.
Hi etherdog, I can report that both old houses and most new houses in Japan, both go with the option of not bothering with insulation and any heating system 😂Very few house in Japan have central heating, radiators, or even double glazed windows etc. Getting a good sweater seems to be the tactic here 😅
2:48 - Tag Heuer F1... very nice ;) Those storage sheds look full of history, days worth of fun hunting through all of those. Definitely treasure!. I hope to own a house in Japan one day. Now you've given me something to aim for. Cheers guys :)
Cheers, Robb! With the Akiya Houses now getting sold off, I think foreigners have a real shot of owning old houses full of history for very little investment too. I'd like to find one out in the countryside one day and restore it, just as a hobby.
Hi Marigen. That’s a good idea. Nara is an amazing city. I’ll see if I can get keiji to join me on a walking tour. That might be really interesting. We can pick the areas that most tourists would miss.
Beautiful Home, loved the House Tour! Yes indeed, that was a treasure trove! Thanks so much for sharing Dean & Keiji, have a good night...
Thanks so much, Lily 😍
You're like this potential treasure trove of information that i need for my journey near Kyoto.
Another very interesting video. Keep them coming 😍.
Thanks 😍
I love the lacquer bowls and everything in the house. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Janet! Maybe I should send out the treasures I find in my videos as prizes for subscribers 😅

Yeah, that's how I feel Art Shibuya. Maybe one day I will show the treasures I have accumulated at my house 😅
Very beautiful house 🏠
Thanks Apple PDR 😊
Nice home, my wife's grandma house is also in the countryside, I always like the smell of the tatami entering the house...
Yeah, me too, Claudio! This new house used a lot of ‘Sugi’ wood. That also smells amazing.
Thanks for the house tour Dean and Keiji . 🏡 I treasure old stuff. 👍😎 Those musical drawers were interesting

Underrated channel. Love the content as always =)
Thanks, bro! 😊
I would love to explore those storage rooms, I bet many of the things there have a history. How about taking us on a tour of your wife's hometown?
