Every time I revisit the Black Keys I am still amazed of the sheer volume of sound and creativity coming from just two dudes banging on their instruments.
And think of all the great 3 man bands! Cream, Rush, Motorhead, The Police and Jimi and Nirvana and…ZZ Top! They didn't need Autotune, ProTools or sampled drum machines... I am 62 and I dance and VACUUM to loud rock!
I "discovered" The Black Keys in 2006 when they released Magic Potion. They have a signature sound and style that breaks the mold. So many bands just sound alike and do the same old standard stuff .... and that's .... OK. THESE guys are special.
Holy shit, the studio recordings of Magic potion don’t do the freewheeling sound of this duo justice. Listening to these love recordings is a whole different experience.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS MY ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE LIVE VERSION OF THIS SONG! THAT DISTORTION IS SO WELL ROUNDED AND ASS KICKIN! AND PATS DRUMMING IS FUCKING AMAZING AND ELECTRIC!
Just thinking of all the bands that were counting on touring this summer. Please consider paying for an LP for once in your life-not just one song. Cheers, from Toronto. P.S.- Please, don't visit this summer if you don't have the _common sense to wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a mask!!_
Jack White: Hey, y'all guys ripped off our style and sound! Busting in the door from outta nowhere are the Flat Duo Jets giving Jack White a death stare...
I remember that night, turning on a small TV in the place I was renting, it could get American channels, and I was blown away by the song.
This is so much harder and raw than many heavy metal bands

@Victor Torres Jr. dude.... thank you. I just looked them up based on your recommendation and I was not disappointed.
Oh my God that was so awesome in my ears
We all love a big muff
Love old school Black Keys....heavy, raw, outstanding!
That guitar is soooo nice
For the longest time I thought it was a Gibson but in one of the rig rundowns it’s actually an ibanez. Definitely top five still for me anyway
yeees
@@joeykane8628 A lot of those old Japanese lawsuit era guitars are just as good if not, better than Gibsons :) cheaper too in some cases!
@@ErosGalaxia hondo
yeah, total class.
This is pure magic.. oh my god this sounds so good in my ears
Could say its a... magic potion
I remember Artie Lange was the guest on this episode. After the performance he said ¨Just good old-fashioned kicking ass!¨

Thanks so much for the upload! The Keys were so heavy and raw back then. We’re really starting to miss The Black Keys.
You're welcome
The drums were louder than the guitar which might be the only thing that really sucks about that era.
love the way he sings

I love that these guys need only 2 instruments to write great shit
the only good thing to come out of ohio
The ‘75-‘76 Reds were pretty badass
🥲 where is April Big Cannons 🫱🫨🫲
Fun fact: Dan’s guitar is very expensive!
It really it’s an Ibanez lawsuit era copy of 61 sg custom. Watch the rig rundowns
It’s not that expensive as say the real thing or even a custom shop

This was my introduction to The Black Keys, I was blown away. Too bad they lost this sound. Not a fan any more
I think they’re music is still really cool, they don’t want to have the same sound every album
I love their old stuff too, but I’m glad they’re not just hawking the same material year after year. Great to see a band evolve.
Dans little known hippy cult leader look faze
Music orgasm basically
