A total of four files were updated from the October 12, 2023 initial release. FWIW the December 15, 2023 update included a couple of nav and stereo updates, plus the firmware was updated on our '22 GT-Line FE. I chalked the firmware update to the length it took to install. The update started OTA delivery the week of January 21, 2024 for EV6's that still need it in the U.S. Thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks for the notification, I wonder why it tales 2 hours to make what seems to be a very minor update, makes you wonder what it's doing all that time. I haven't done a single update on my MY23 as yet as because in Australia they skimped out on the SIM card so the car has no connection to anything, can't even hotspot it to the phone. Things like live traffic and charger info just don't happen here, neither does Kia connect unfortunately.
I think it's wiping the drive and reinstalling the infotainment system which is why it's taking so long. We don't have over the air updates either which it was supposed to get in Canada so I just download the Software update and install it using the USB stick.
Thanks for the heads-up. The October update returned an error , it was incompatible with my 2022 EV6 GT-Line 2. I called in and they said: "We wanted to inform you the case has been escalated and we are waiting for a solution from the head unit manufacturer. We are sorry, but you will need to wait for the release of a new update to fix the issue. We do not have an ETA yet, but we will let you know when it is available." I will download it and see if it works.
@@HighOnCars1 Installed OK. No errors! Before it would fail instantly., Navigation gives charging stops, percentages to charge to and time to charge - Still a puzzle on how to choose different stations /filter to get over 50kW DCFC . Almost need to favourite a station I want to easily add them into the navigation. I'll post a few screen pictures in the EV6 CDN Facebook group. (I didn't complain about the install error and didn't see anyone else report it. )
The updates vary from region but I would still try it again because their updates are wonky and sometimes you have to try it multiple times to get it right.
I don't see any new release on their website and I haven't tried the Navigation Updater. Perhaps I can see what it downloads and find out if it's a newer version or not.
As usual the Kia Canada website was still showing October 2023 as the latest update at the time of this recording. But the Navigation updater downloaded the December 2023 update.
Download the Navigation updater software from update.kia.com and it should download the latest update for Canada. The website is not up-to-date and never has the latest software update information but the Navigation updater tool is able to download it.

Nice, i have done the same today, but somehow it downloaded the 2310 instead of 2312 from the Navigation KIA app
Note that I’m located in UK

Is it possible to update this firmware in the European model?
Follow these instructions to see if there are updates for your region.

Very relevant and useful video, Great work 💯
Thank you 😊
Have you received any software updates lately?

@@HighOnCars1I tried it three days ago and I did not get anything.

I don’t see the update for USA.
I checked Canada and did not see it either 🤔

@@HighOnCars1 Oh great it worked indeed 😅 It took a long time for me too to apply the update
I'm glad it worked 🙂
So.. nothing really changed?
Could be big fixes or security updates. Like our devices get them.
