      2. The introduction of real talent that actually wants to do business instead of just playing with their friends, resulting in a culture clash, which blew up due to the lack of leadership mentioned earlier.
      3. The ones who have the incompetent leader's ear are more concerned with keeping their spot and bleeding the mark dry than trying to build a business. Unfortunately, this isn't JUST the EVPs. Also Regal might not want to discuss any of the problems he had with people in AEW; he seems like a pretty respectful guy, who wouldn’t want to badmouth his former colleagues, so he could just say he felt it was time to go, because he wanted to work with Triple H again, and take up whatever position he ends up with in the WWE.

It's absolute sheer insanity at this point that Tony Khan had a full deck and then some but decides that he's not going to listen to people nor the people within his organization that ought to matter. I think Tony Khan is in massive trouble and honestly has no idea what to do at this point. Instead, he's just going to go back to the indy days because he probably a comment or two on reddit that said something to the effect of, "oh, i liked it better at AEW's start." etc. It's one thing if the fans themselves decide that they can't stand a promotion but when the talent are the ones that want to return, that's pretty bad.
i've been at companies where you have kids that refuse to listen to veterans and those companies have tons of energy and enthusiasm. Then you get these kids who work all night and on the weekend too for what purpose? You don't make a cent more for all that effort. Most times you don't even get a pat on the back. However, you set a bad precedent for more experienced people coming in that know better and are forced to "elevate" themselves to these people's workrate rather than calm people down and go, "One day, you're going to hit middle age and all that stuff you're doing to your body is going to hit you hard." And the sad part is that these veterans are trying to legitimately help these kids.
IMO, I think what will happen is that there's going to be a few people that Regal has scouted out, determined how long their contracts are and probably won't re-sign with AEW once they're done and they'll get a nice handshake by Regal once he returns and gets set back up. A guy like Adam Page should go to NXT's developmental just because he does have some talent but it's unrefined. But if he has that attitude where he publicly denounces his willingness to listen, why would the biggest promotion ever want to take him? He just shot himself in the foot. Or what if Tony Khan finally goes ballistic or his father does in terms of how much money they're spending and AEW closes down? All these people who have attitude issues aren't going to be picked up because they've lost one of WWE's biggest talent scouts.
I just don't understand how and why Tony Khan would allow something like this to happen in the first place. Why did he sign Regal up at all with that type of contract? And even if he didn't sign Regal up with that "special clause" (allegedly), what kind of plans did he have for him? Was it just to get him to say he had Regal at some point like a toy collector? Did he think Regal could wrestle again? Was he just going to be used as an on air talent rather than a key mentor as well as a talent scout? It doesn't make sense.
Again, all this points to Tony Khan is a rotten business man and he's a terrible manager. He might be a nice guy but there's that saying about guys and finishing.

Tony Khan is the Brian Cashman of the wrestling business. He refuses to believe that his way is not working. The Yankees every year 100 plus wins and get bump from the playoffs. Tony refuses to follow anyones advise for how to run a wrestling company. And both Cashman and Khan are numbers analytical guys.

Essentially you create a wrestling character and you role play as them online. You type out interviews, vignettes, angles, etc. the head Bookers pit you in matches and feuds every week and it’s all done online.
I’m sure some still exist but they really lost steam once wrestling video games became more realistic but they were all the rage for us wrestling fans online in the mid to late 90’s.
You also have fantasy wrestling booking and management games like EWR and TWE made by Adam Ryland that are kind of like “Out of The Park Baseball” but wrestling.

@@Kravis63 Don't know what Dungeons and Dragons is.
I grew up watching wrestling in that era, but didn't have cable or internet in my house. My parents, particularly mother, was extremely wary of me talking to strangers online. AOL to her was like a land of potential kidnappers and murderers. She was beyond terrified of me partaking in any kind of chatroom. I couldn't call the 800 numbers for wrestling spoilers either. I was limited to Raw recapping whatever happened on Wrestling Challenge, Superstars, Livewire. And sometimes, they didn't recap it. And I had to wait for a neighbor to tape me ppvs on vhs.
If I could go back in time, that sounds pretty cool. I wouldn't want to do it with people of today's or even the roster of 10 years ago. But that 98-04 period would probably be great.

Tony is the booker, but there’s a AEW booking committee, comprised of Omega, Young Bucks and Jericho. If you aren’t in the good graces of those four, you’re not gonna make it far. MJF is the only exception.

Can't blame Regal for bailing out, AEW has no real training or scouting infrastructure and Regal said himself on his podcast that he literally just turns up once a week and works with a few guys in the ring prior to the show and does a little bit on camera stuff.......That's a real waste of his talent & knowledge.
