I was out in the garage cursing at our washer as I tried again, in vain, to balance the load of clothes. I was ready to call some repair folks (I am pretty handy, but was just not in the mood to fix anything) when my awesome wife came out and said "Hey look at this video I found! It sounds like the same issue we're having and it's fixable!" Now the washer is opened up, the springs are out and I am waiting for Amazon to deliver the new ones. Thanks so much!
I love hearing stories like this. My friend had just paid $300.00 for this same repair a couple of months before I made the video. Let me know how it works out for you, and thanks for the story. Dan
Dan’s the Man ! In the last year I have repaired microwave door and oven igniter; Samsung washer is next. Thanks for sharing Dan and kudos for the little story at the end.👍
I like that story at the end. Thank God there are still some honest individuals with integrity walking the planet. This keeps me from fearing all the lunacy that dominates the internet. Great job, Dan!
You know, it's the testamonial at the end that really makes this vid worth watching. I've been avoiding house calls like mad because i KNOW I'm probably going to get the shaft--get it--and would probably be better off researching. learning and doing myself--of course, IF at all possible. I have had great success in the past, and because of vids like these, I know I will have more successes than failures in the future. Thanks Dan!!
Thank you so much for this video and your honesty. I was going to buy a new washer as we've had this one for about 9yrs and thought maybe it time for a new one. This is seems like a fairly simple fix and I am now going to attempt to do it myself instead of buying a new washer or calling a service tech out to the house. Thank you again, you are one of the good guys out there that I have absolute respect for. Take care and God Bless!
I had never done this repair before either. It is not very hard. Use a thin scraper blade to open the top from the front. Remove the screws from the back, and support the top. Drop me a note on how it comes out. Thanks for the comment. Dan
Dan, thanks for your honesty!!!! I'm a handyman myself and you'd be surprise how many dishonest repairmen that's out there. This is by far the most sincere and honest repair video I've seen in years!! The world needs more Dan. I'm definitely subscribing.
Thanks for making this video. We have a Samsung top loading washer and it is doing the exact same thing! Gets to 9 minutes, then bangs around and resets to a 17 and starts adding water. I am ordering the rods this week! Thanks for being an honest person!
Thanks so much for this video! I know it takes time and I really appreciate that! Because of you, I was able to fix my washer, by myself, and save a ton of money. My dad taught me how to be handy and my knowledge of tools. He passed away 12/13/2023 (He could work on and fix anything) so, unfortunately, I no longer have his guidance. Your video helped walk me through it. My washer is back to working like the first day I bought it! Thank you so much! Means the world to me 🙏❤️ *also... I believe the ones that say they did this repair and it worked for a while then stopped working again may be overloading their washer by trying to wash too big or too heavy of a load. But, I do recognize that they don't make things like they used to! It's been 4 mos since I repaired mine and it's still working fine.
Thanks Dan, I stumbled across your video and although our washer is not a Samsung, the info you provided allowed my husband to fix our washer! thanks again!!
@@sgmsos Susan, that is great that I was able to help someone I know. The video has over 50,000 views. It seems to be a common problem. Please subscribe if you have not already. It's free and helps me. Dan
$65 and one hour. My husband was going to get a😊 new washer until I found videos on youtube. One video showed me how to diagnose it, but you showed me how to fix it. I thou😂ght losing 😢$65 was worth the try rather than replace it😅😊
My washer started getting ub error and washer was bouncing pretty bad, found your video and right after watching and following your great instructions I ordered new ones on Amazon for 39$ and will be here in 2 days… I will update when I get them and finish the repair 👍
So I installed my tension rods today and got the washer back up and running but… it’s till shaking more than it should and had to stop the first test wash… think it may be the snubber ring or tub bearing I will have to take it apart again to figure this out 😕 kinda bummed but we’ll get her done
thank you Daniel, very kind of you,,.iam very glad thinking of there are honest people still existing on planet earth.i live in florida ,and you are in colorado.the Lord knows . God bless U. S. A.
Having an issue in which the load becomes unbalanced and knocks. Hoping this does the trick. I ordered the parts plus grease off your link and made sure it fits my model. Will update with results in a few days but I’m very hopeful. Either way, thanks for what you do. You get my like and subscription sir.
I am not sure. I replaced mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly. There is a nut at the bottom center of the tub (on the inside) under a cover. That nut can become loose and even break. It is accessed by removing the cover and it is reverse threaded so you turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it. I have not done the repair myself and do not know anything else.
@danfixeseverything works great, you're a blessing. Now our whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, have to keep towel in bottom of freezer to soak water?
Just want to say Thanks. I have the very same machine with the very same problem which seems to be very common. I got the rods and amd replacing them tomorrow. And you mad it very easy. I'm also a DIY guy and the little things like white lithium was good. And your honesty refreshing. Aloha
I’ve been having this issue with my washer. I’m glad I came across this video because I’m going to try this before I throw it out the door. Needless to say this thing has been testing my patience
It has been 9 months since I repaired mine and it has not gone out of balance once. Before the repair it was unusable. Good luck, and please let me know how it works out for you. Dan
Did it work? I've never hated a washing machine as much as I hate our Samsung. It takes me hours just to do one load because it gets stuck on the spinning cycle 😊
@@lenacheney That probably means the washer at the bottom center of the tub has come loose or broken. Rods replace usually work but in my case after new rods the washer was getting unbalance on spin cycle and I found another video with solving issue of balance ring on top of drum and that fix my issue follow video on fixing balance ring it works i wish would find it sooner.. going crazy with drum banging every wash. ua-cam.com/video/iRry5mju_Xc/v-deo.htmlsi=Qyb-tx9fHOMQxNMO
Thank you. It is a great way to save money. Remember to tape the lid, and suspend the top carefully to protect the wires and hoses. Drop me a note when you finished. I would like to hear how you did. It has been a few months now and my washer has not been out of balance once. More videos are coming. Dan
Thank you sir !!! You’re amazing 🥹 I bought my rods and doing this tonight . I will teach my 13 y/o son as well. Forgot to get my lithium grease but going to buy right now
Just an FYI. I purchased a Samsung washer at Lowes 3 years back and after about a year, it started this ballance issue. I saw this type of fix on UA-cam but opted to call a service tech. He suggested I "save my money for a new washer." I spent the money and ordered the tencion rods. It worked for about a month. I drug the thing out to the road.
I am so glad to hear it. That was the idea when I started this. Let's save money and use it for more fun stuff than paying a tech for stuff we can do ourselves.
I see you add the grease to the rod itself on top of the spring cap. I think under the cap is a plastic damper around the rod. Wouldn't the grease cause the damper to slide easier, defeating the resistance needed in stabilizing the drum?
Sir thank you for your instructions. My machine of two years is doing the same. Gotta thank the kiddos for overloading. I will order the shocks and install. Again I thank you for the video.
Thank you Dan. This video has been extremely helpful. I was dreading trying to have my Samsung washer repaired or replaced. Looking for to attempting this myself. Thanks again.
First off, great video! Like most we switched out the tension rods and it did help. However, our washer still continued to get out of round. After scouring the internet, I found that the washer needs to be leveled. Their are feet on the bottom that will raise the machine. After testing with two books it the front my washer worked like it should. (My husband wanted to take this washer to the curb, I wanted to give one more shot and the books worked). So, bust out a level and that should do the trick. I just washed a load of towels and it sailed on through. I hope this helps!
Dan ,You were spot on , My husband ordered the rods like you recommended and got grease @ the hardware store. Our washer is now working I have been doing laundry for days. Thank you !
Wow I'm a plumber went to interview for service company and they did the same thing sell sell I walked out too thanks for your video gonna change the springs on my washer
I don't recommend using white lithium grease, I would get "dampening gel/grease" instead. It actually slows the movement of the rods and springs (its sticky), rather than lubricate them for ease of movement.
Hello! Thanks for sharing! Questions does the order matter? I was thinking about replacing the one with the hose clip first since there will be less tension.
Dan, I replaced the suspension rods but didn't have any grease, I tried to place some of the grease off of the old rods. I put everything back together and it is still unbalance. My question, is would the grease be the cause for this or is there something else that I can do to help with the unbalance. I did see another video on youtube, that was for a different factory washer top loader and they said that they were having the same issue and found the piece underneath the tub that was plastic and wore down. He found a metal replacement piece and it worked for him. Do you know if there is something like this for Samsung's? Or have any other advice to get this working again?
There is a large nut under the center of the agitator at the bottom of the tub. When the old suspension rods allow the tub to go out of balance and shake severely the nut can loosen or even break. You must remove the cover at the center of the agitator, then remove the screw holding the agitator on and remove the agitator. Then you will see the large nut. Use a wrench to tighten it. It is a left-hand thread so you must tighten it counterclockwise. If it is broken, replace it. Here are links to two videos I found that show how to fix it. I hope this helps you. I've replaced the suspension rods. I had a short lived improvement, but now after aproximately 6 months I'm having continued problems. I saw somewhere that another fix may be available under continued occurances. Are you aware of any additional fixes?
I am not sure. I replaced mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly. There is a nut at the bottom center of the tub (on the inside) under a cover. That nut can become loose and even break. It is accessed by removing the cover and it is reverse threaded so you turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it. I have not done the repair myself and do not know anything else.
Replacing the springs is always a possibility. But after reading the comments some people are still having issues and it could be that your washer needs to be calibrated. some samsung washers require you to hold "temp" and "delay end" for 3-5 sec and it should display CB on the screen some will require you to click temp, delay end and the power button too display CB after CB shows up on the screen you hit start and it will calibrate for about 2-5 min. Try this before replacing springs cause it's FREE! And could be your issue. But refer to video if still having issue.
Hi, I watched yours and others videos on replacing suspension rods. Thank you, it was a great video! However, we replaced the suspension rods and the machine is still unbalanced during the spin cycle. The machine stops when banging around and then tries to put in more water and spins again and again. What else can we try? Is there anything else you might suggest if this repair does not work? Thank you so much for any information.
I have not done it but there is a cap at the bottom center of the tub. Removing it reveals a large nut that may be loose or broken. I think it is reverse-threaded. Tighten or replace it.
I cant get the top to come off. Unscrewed screws in the back. But mine doesnt have those black clips on the front. Is this cause its a newer model? Ideas how else to remove the lid?
The clips are not visible. They are about six inches in from the sides on both sides. If you use a thin stiff putty knife you should be able to feel them. This was the hardest part of the job. To release them you have to push in on them while prying up on the top. You may find other videos that show the process better than my video. This was the first video I had ever done. I was happy because it saved me about $300.00. If you pry a little you may be able to see the clips with a flashlight. They are fairly stiff. I am not aware of any other method of holding the top on. I am handy but not a full time appliance repairman so I am not familiar with every brand. Best of luck to you.
I'm having a hard time finding the part for my washer with the model number DC68-04090A-00 / WA50R5400AV- do you have any advice on what I should order? Thank you in advance.
I searched Amazon with just the WA50R5400AV number for suspension rods and this was the result I got. www.amazon.com/s?k=wa50r5400av%2Fus+suspension+rods&ref=nb_sb_noss There are several to choose from. Does it run normal if empty with this issue? I am having out of balance problems but repair man ran washer empty and it did fine. When I wash, it goes out of balance does same thing you describe. But they want a video before shipping. Would not take apart to check. I told them the rods were the problem.
Timing is everything… Just recently I paid a service company $300 to do this exact repair. They did a good job and fixed my washer. But the reality is this - if you are handy around the house - and you are or you wouldn’t be watching “how to repair” videos - Dan shows you exactly how to do this repair for just the cost of the parts. Had I watched this video before I called the service company, I would have saved a LOT of money.
Just for full disclosure, Kevin (the wizard) is a friend. When I shared my video with him he told me about just paying $300 for this repair. So the comment is from a friend, but the story is true. Sorry about the bad timing Kevin.
I like to watch random fix it videos and so far many have come in handy! I was being charged an insane amount to replace the belt on my drier.. I ended up doing the work myself and spent under $50.. it’s an old hand-me-down drier so I wasn’t too scared.. but my washer is the first pricey appliance I’ve bought.. but the insurance just went out so im going to try and do it myself.. wish me luck lol
I watched this video and i am SO happy to have seen this. However.. the rods from Amazon.. went out within 40 days 😭 back at square one again. So... a THOUSAND thumbs up to this guy and this video... lots of thumbs down to these amazon rods 😞 SPRING FOR THE EXPENSIVE RODS!!!

what do you do when you replace, one of the original suspension rods was clearly not up to standard, so all new fresh ones in, run it on spin and it has the same issue again where the water fills back up and it restarts the cycle? i was feeling so accomplished
I am not familiar with Superlube but my guess is that it would work. These are wear points and need a lubricant that is long-lasting and works in a humid environment. Good luck with the job!
I had the same issue. Make sure the washer is leveled. They're feet on the bottom that twist, we got out a level and once we got the washer level, worked!
I changed the suspension rods and it did not help my problem. Washer is level. I have washed small loads with just socks and shirts, I have washed sheets, blankets, every weight and water level, and I also checked the nut at the bottom of the tub. It's still off balance and codes with every wash. My daughter washed 2 quilts that were so so heavy once wet and I'm sure that's when my problems started. Any suggestions?
My suggestion is don’t buy a Samsung again. I changed out the rods and balancing ring. Only helped for a short time. I replaced the POS Samsung with a Whirpool. Had enough
Next time remember that the weight/load compresses the spring so greasing up the rod is a messy waste of time and grease. Don't feel bad, most people follow that same pursuit, greasing the wrong direction.🤔😊😂 One last thing, remove the lid tape before locking the top down.

I did the repair. Was way simpler than I thought it would be. BUT went to do a load of laundry and it kept filling 😮. I emptied it and drained it, did a calibration but it’s still filling until I turn it off. Any thoughts ?
In Google or UA-cam search for "samsung top load washer keeps filling with water." It may be low water pressure. If you turned your water off, make sure you turn it back on fully and that the hose is not kinked. There are sensors that go bad also that are addressed by other UA-cam videos. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice. It turns out the hose popped off the water pressure/level sensor when I lifted the top of the washer off. Just had to pop it back on
If you have the samsung WA50R5400A / WA50T5300A, plan on replacing the springs once a year. But also clean the washer with Citric Acid as grime builds up and throws off the balance causing wear on the springs.
You need to go back in and correct a few things. The metal part of the rods need Nyogel 767A on them. This is sticky motion dampening grease. Clean all the other grease off the rods. Since you used lithium grease on the the cone shaped plastic topping the spring is now contaminated. Or you could use Samsung dampening grease. It looks like samsung used the black dampening on grease on the attachment points also. Im not sure. Also at least the front right rods top is not hooked into the plastic grove. That will have to be corrected. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Did that happen to you? I replaced mine and it has worked perfectly so far. It has been about two months. When I had the problem I watched several UA-cam videos and they all agreed that the suspension rods were the solution. Washing machines are complex devices and of course, there is the possibility that there is a different problem. This problem and solution are very common. I hope it works out for you too. Dan
I have the same issue. I replaced my rods but it’s still unbalanced. I can’t find anything online to help me figure it out. I’m thinking maybe the bearings are bad and that’s causing it?? I for sure needed to replace the rods but now I am at my wits end with this machine. It’s only 2.5 years old too……

You have to calibrate the washer. Take all clothes out > turn on washer > hold temp and end delay > select start. Washer will calibrate the weight and new springs so it doesn't rattle when spinning.
There are two things I know of that cause it to be out of balance with even a small load of evenly distributed clothing. The most common is the suspension rods that I show how to repair in this video. The other is a broken or loose nut at the bottom of the tub. It is accessed from the top. It often happens as a result of weak suspension rods causing violent out-of-balance problems. If replacing the rods does not solve the problem then the cover at the bottom center of the tub needs to be removed and the nut needs to be tightened or replaced. I have not done this repair, as replacing the rods solved my problem. I believe the nut is a left hand thread, so turn it the opposite direction to tighten (counter-clockwise).
too much grease on plastic stress points. also use synthetic dampening grease on rods near springs this makes slide more sticky helping to dampen rod movement.
I don't know all the machines. Mine had clips about 6 inches in from either side on the front where the top sits. I used a stiff putty knife to push in on the clips while using another to lift the lid. This was after removing the screws on the back that hold the top on there. Some people have said they had screws at the front that had to be removed but I have not seen any like that. You might search for "how to remove top on Samsung washer". I found this video and it shows the removal at minute 1:12. www.google.com/search?q=Remove+top+from+Samsung+top+load+washer+wa484dshawr%2Fa1&sca_esv=8212b838d9203bd8&sxsrf=ACQVn0-mbxHLkhwVF9s66GkaQ-iiQgLQiw%3A1706640298956&source=hp&ei=qkO5ZZ-WOOfAkPIPxIuSyAk&iflsig=ANes7DEAAAAAZblRukvJqvMv7ppP38NkRu4eohtKMUu8&ved=0ahUKEwifk5vG4oWEAxVnIEQIHcSFBJkQ4dUDCB4&oq=Remove+top+from+Samsung+top+load+washer+wa484dshawr%2Fa1&gs_lp=Egdnd3Mtd2l6IjZSZW1vdmUgdG9wIGZyb20gU2Ftc3VuZyB0b3AgbG9hZCB3YXNoZXIgd2E0ODRkc2hhd3IvYTEyBhAAGBYYHjILEAAYgAQYigUYhgMyCxAAGIAEGIoFGIYDMgsQABiABBiKBRiGA0io6gFQ1hRYz9EBcAt4AJABAJgBiwGgAY0pqgEFMTQuMzW4AQzIAQD4AQH4AQKoAgrCAgcQIxjqAhgnwgIQEC4YxwEYrwEYjgUY6gIYJ8ICDRAuGMcBGNEDGOoCGCfCAgcQLhjqAhgnwgIIEAAYgAQYsQPCAgsQLhiABBixAxiDAcICERAuGIAEGLEDGIMBGMcBGNEDwgILEC4YgAQYxwEY0QPCAgsQABiABBixAxiDAcICERAuGIAEGLEDGMcBGNEDGNQCwgIEEAAYA8ICDhAuGIAEGIoFGLEDGIMBwgIKECMYgAQYigUYJ8ICBBAjGCfCAgsQABiABBiKBRiRAsICDRAAGIAEGIoFGEMYsQPCAg0QLhiABBiKBRhDGOUEwgIKEAAYgAQYigUYQ8ICChAuGIAEGIoFGEPCAg4QABiABBixAxiDARjJA8ICCxAAGIAEGIoFGJIDwgIQEAAYgAQYigUYQxixAxiDAcICBRAAGIAEwgIIEAAYFhgeGA8&sclient=gws-wiz#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:6b24b383,vid:LifEij0SMMU,st:0
I feel compelled to let you know what we did to fix ours since we had such a huge issue as well. Our washer needed to be leveled their feet at the bottom, Get a level and twist the feet at the bottom. Once we did that it's been working ever since.
@PadgettMoomaw I resolved the issue buy buying a new machine. Front loader this time. Old unit was level and the rods replaced. After researching it further the only thing left was the connection between the drive and the drum. I got rid of it.

A ton of samsung models will also give an error due to a faulty control board. Samsung is notorious for having bad electrical problems with their appliances. I would not recommend just buying an expensive control board. Might be better to replace at that point.

That was the hardest part of the job. I used a stiff strong putty knife, along with a thinner one to lift the lift lid slightly. I used a screw driver once I had the room. The clips can be stiff.
My version had to rubber bumpers in the front I used a small screwdriver to pry them out and revealed 2 Phillips screws that was holding my front of the lid on
Hey who's going to pay for all the water this has been wasting. I have a large tub and it's been doing this for months. Here in California we just had a drought. 😅
Try running a normal load, about half full with no very heavy items like rugs, etc. If the machine cannot finish the complete wash cycle without going off balance it does not seem it is an underloading or overloading problem. I hope this helps. Dan
It was the OEM parts that failed. I chose Amazon because it was the easiest to order from. I spent $40.00 and a year and a half later my washer still works perfectly. It has not gone off balance once. I am showing people how to do the repair and save money. My friend called a repairman and it cost $300.00 for the same job. Everyone is free to choose which parts they use. I am not sponsored and I get no benefit from Amazon.
Ordered the tension rods from Amazon & followed this video & got my washer back working for under $50 & about an hour of work. Thanks for this video !

@@teeteebrown347 I believe I had to get 26”. I verified the length once I took off one of the old ones.
@norview71462 I think I got 27-inch ty for helping me
Is the inches imprinted on the rods anywhere?
Dan

I like that story at the end. Thank God there are still some honest individuals with integrity walking the planet. This keeps me from fearing all the lunacy that dominates the internet.
Great job, Dan!
Thank you.
You know, it's the testamonial at the end that really makes this vid worth watching. I've been avoiding house calls like
mad because i KNOW I'm probably going to get the shaft--get it--and would probably be better off researching. learning and doing myself--of course, IF at all possible. I have had great success in the past, and because of vids like these, I know I will have more successes than failures in the future. Thanks Dan!!
Thank you.
Dan
Literally the one impossible part of this repair is lifting the top up. Video starts with top off and my guy says "it just lifts right up". Smh.
Dan, thanks for your honesty!!!! I'm a handyman myself and you'd be surprise how many dishonest repairmen that's out there. This is by far the most sincere and honest repair video I've seen in years!! The world needs more Dan. I'm definitely subscribing.
Thank you, Lucian. I appreciate the kind words.

Means the world to me 🙏❤️
*also... I believe the ones that say they did this repair and it worked for a while then stopped working again may be overloading their washer by trying to wash too big or too heavy of a load. But, I do recognize that they don't make things like they used to! It's been 4 mos since I repaired mine and it's still working fine.

Having an issue in which the load becomes unbalanced and knocks. Hoping this does the trick. I ordered the parts plus grease off your link and made sure it fits my model. Will update with results in a few days but I’m very hopeful. Either way, thanks for what you do. You get my like and subscription sir.
It has been over a year and my washer still works perfectly. I wish the same for you.
Made the repair. Worked great...for a bit. Now im back to square one...
Thank you Dan. Ordered rods, went to Home Depot for grease. Will try tomorrow. Our Samsung is only 3 yrs old. Was really surprised. God's blessings.
Hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.

Inside the washer at the bottom, there is a cover over a bolt that holds the tub to the mechanism below it. If you remove the cover there is a large nut that secures the tub. Thank you Dan for this video, awesome repair work! Two thumbs up!
Sorry it did not work for you. Mine has been working for one year with no problems.
You just saved me $450. Thank you!!!
Hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
Just changed these and it works like a charm now. Cost me $45 👍🏻
First off, great video!
Dan ,You were spot on ,
My husband ordered the rods like you recommended and got grease @ the hardware store.
Our washer is now working
I have been doing laundry for days.
Thank you !
I am so happy to hear that. I repaired mine 7 months ago and it has not gone out of balance once. Thanks for letting me know.
Thanks for the advice.
thanks alot we were going to buy a new washer i will try this very self explanery thank you

Hello! Thanks for sharing! Questions does the order matter? I was thinking about replacing the one with the hose clip first since there will be less tension.
The order does not matter. Your idea sounds good.
Do you have a video of what to do is I’m getting a “not draining” error code?
I do not have a video for that. The most likely cause is a pump failure.
Hello. So I just shad the rods replaced. And a week later we are back to an unbalanced load constantly. Any ideas
Dan

Hey, try leveling the washer. They're feet at the bottom. Once we leveled our washer it worked. We also replaced the tension rods.
OMG this is exactly the help we needed! Thank you!
It worked for me. I hope it works for you also. Let me know how it goes. Thanks, Dan
i love your video , keep up the awesome work
Replacing the springs is always a possibility.
P.S. the washer must be empty to calibrate
I replaced the shock absorbers in my washing machine and after two uses its shaking again and kicking of what do i do to correct????
I did this. It worked!!! For a few weeks… now it’s unbalanced before it even puts water in?? I hate this washer.
Hi where can i get the part number to ensure I'm buying the right rods?
I got mine from Amazon.
Best of luck to you.
on of his videos told me about the screws under the black plugs

I also see you found rods with the black rubber hose around the springs. At this point I think thats a plus.
I'm having a hard time finding the part for my washer with the model number DC68-04090A-00 / WA50R5400AV- do you have any advice on what I should order? Thank you in advance.

Does it run normal if empty with this issue? I am having out of balance problems but repair man ran washer empty and it did fine. When I wash, it goes out of balance does same thing you describe. But they want a video before shipping. Would not take apart to check. I told them the rods were the problem.
Running an empty machine is not a good test. If it will not wash clothes it needs attention.
Dan help!!! I replaced the suspension rods but the drum is much lower than with the original.
I am not sure. Are the rods the same length as the ones you removed?
Timing is everything… Just recently I paid a service company $300 to do this exact repair. They did a good job and fixed my washer. But the reality is this - if you are handy around the house - and you are or you wouldn’t be watching “how to repair” videos - Dan shows you exactly how to do this repair for just the cost of the parts. Had I watched this video before I called the service company, I would have saved a LOT of money.
Just for full disclosure, Kevin (the wizard) is a friend. When I shared my video with him he told me about just paying $300 for this repair. So the comment is from a friend, but the story is true. Sorry about the bad timing Kevin.

what do you do when you replace, one of the original suspension rods was clearly not up to standard, so all new fresh ones in, run it on spin and it has the same issue again where the water fills back up and it restarts the cycle? i was feeling so accomplished
You might need a new control board. Many models give an out of balance error due to the board.

Can i use Superlube multi-purpose synthetic grease or do i have to et the lithium grease you stated in your video?
I am not familiar with Superlube but my guess is that it would work. These are wear points and need a lubricant that is long-lasting and works in a humid environment. Good luck with the job!

My suggestion is don’t buy a Samsung again. I changed out the rods and balancing ring. Only helped for a short time. I replaced the POS Samsung with a Whirpool. Had enough

I am not familiar with that product.
Thanks it helped me alot. God bless ya!

Next time remember that the weight/load compresses the spring so greasing up the rod is a messy waste of time and grease.
Don't feel bad, most people follow that same pursuit, greasing the wrong direction.🤔😊😂
One last thing, remove the lid tape before locking the top down.

Thanks for the advice Dave. This is my first Samsung top-loader.
So what if we replaced the rods and balanced the washer and we are still getting violent shaking?
That probably means the washer at the bottom center of the tub has come loose or broken. Inside the washer at the bottom, there is a cover over a bolt that holds the tub to the mechanism below it. You have to calibrate the washer.
Empty washer > turn on > hold temp and end delay > select start
It will calibrate the weight and take 3 minutes
I followed this and it’s definitely firmer but its still shaking and setting the ur code off. Any other ideas on what to do now?

What if I replace the rods but it keeps doing the same thing
Did that happen to you? I replaced mine and it has worked perfectly so far. It has been about two months. I installed new rods and it still shakes and throwing a code what else could it be
I replace the road but after about two weeks the washer is off balance again. Is there anything else I can do?
I am not sure. I replaced mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly. There is a nut at the bottom center of the tub (on the inside) under a cover. That nut can become loose and even break. It is accessed by removing the cover and it is reverse threaded so you turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it. I have not done the repair myself and do not know anything else.
You have to calibrate the washer.
Take all clothes out > turn on washer > hold temp and end delay > select start.
Washer will calibrate the weight and new springs so it doesn't rattle when spinning.
Could it just be out of balance somehow?
Where is the counter weight on the samsung top load washer

too much grease on plastic stress points. also use synthetic dampening grease on rods near springs this makes slide more sticky helping to dampen rod movement.
I have a samsung wa484dshawr/a1 and i can't get the top off to replace the Suspension rods.
I don't know all the machines. Mine had clips about 6 inches in from either side on the front where the top sits. I used a stiff putty knife to push in on the clips while using another to lift the lid. This was after removing the screws on the back that hold the top on there. Some people have said they had screws at the front that had to be removed but I have not seen any like that. You might search for "how to remove top on Samsung washer". I found this video and it shows the removal at minute 1:12. www.google.com/search?q=Remove+top+from+Samsung+top+load+washer+wa484dshawr%2Fa1&sca_esv=8212b838d9203bd8&sxsrf=ACQVn0-mbxHLkhwVF9s66GkaQ-iiQgLQiw%3A1706640298956&source=hp&ei=qkO5ZZ-WOOfAkPIPxIuSyAk&iflsig=ANes7DEAAAAAZblRukvJqvMv7ppP38NkRu4eohtKMUu8&ved=0ahUKEwifk5vG4oWEAxVnIEQIHcSFBJkQ4dUDCB4&oq=Remove+top+from+Samsung+top+load+washer+wa484dshawr%2Fa1&gs_lp=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&sclient=gws-wiz#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:6b24b383,vid:LifEij0SMMU,st:0
Anyone have issues replacing these and washer still having unbalanced loads? Replaced mine and washer still having same issue.
The right front rod wasn't seated in the plastic top piece 90 degrees off.
I am happy that you were able to repair it. Dan
Replaced the rods. No change. I'm going to surround the drum with a foam pool noodle to stabilize it.
@@shootsouthpaw7771 😂 I'm pretty sure we'll be doing the same soon.
I followed the instructions to a T. At least I thought I did! The tub is now too high and making contact with the top of it he washer. Help!
Yes, inside the washer at the bottom there is a cover over a bolt that holds the tub to the mechanism below it If you remove the cover there is a large nut that secures the tub. The action of the tub swinging so far out of balance due to the bad rods may have loosened or broken the nut. I believe it is reversed threaded so you would go counter clockwise to tighten it. Please let me know your results. I hope that works. I saw it on another channel's video.
A ton of samsung models will also give an error due to a faulty control board. Samsung is notorious for having bad electrical problems with their appliances. I would not recommend just buying an expensive control board. Might be better to replace at that point.
Thanks for the information.

Ever figure it out?
@@lenacheney That probably means the washer at the bottom center of the tub has come loose or broken. Darn Top doesn't come off..... Even with a putty knife
That was the hardest part of the job. I used a stiff strong putty knife, along with a thinner one to lift the lift lid slightly. I used a screw driver once I had the room. The clips can be stiff.
Your specific top might have screws that are holding it down.
My version had to rubber bumpers in the front I used a small screwdriver to pry them out and revealed 2 Phillips screws that was holding my front of the lid on
have an active jet on my washer and kept looking for the clips, this guy told me to remove rubber plugs and unscrew DDDDUUUUUmmmy
Similar story here as a plumber, work for a big company for a few weeks. The owners made the employees upcharge everyone, crazy B.S.
Hey who's going to pay for all the water this has been wasting. I have a large tub and it's been doing this for months. Here in California we just had a drought. 😅
I hope it works well for you. I did mine over a year ago and it has not gone out of balance once.
Repair man said zI am either under loading or undercoating and nothingbis wrong....
Try running a normal load, about half full with no very heavy items like rugs, etc. If the machine cannot finish the complete wash cycle without going off balance it does not seem it is an underloading or overloading problem. I hope this helps. Dan
He doesn’t show you how to open the washer up,
Amazon ? Your supposed to install OEM parts why would you tell people to get Amazon parts
@@danfixeseverythinggood evening how do you know if it’s one or all four that needs replacing?
My clothes are in the washer now is there anyway to finish the cycle until I can order the parts
@@SweeTee0114 I replaced all four. I think they are only sold in full sets. It worked for me.
