Sanne, always love hearing your thoughts on your next move. You are so inspirational! I live in LA and am originally from Japan and travel back and forth. My skin and hair always get so soft and I think it is the water!
I love your coffee talks! Or matcha talks! Or whatever talks you do ❤ I think it’s important to have the longer term chats with your significant other - especially if you’re both committed to the long term - a sign of a very healthy relationship and future ahead!! 🎉
Hi, I'm Japanese and living in Tokyo. I enjoyed this VLOG. I just let you know that I think the "sake latte" is non-alcoholic. "Dassai" is one of famous SAKE in Japan and "SWEET SAKE" / "AMAZAKE" is a fermented rice drink. So I think they made from same rice. "AMAZAKE" is non-alcoholic and high in nutrition so it's good to your health! Hope you had a wonderful time in Tokyo💖
Loved this so much. Please do more coffee shop based chats! It felt like actually meeting up with you 🖤 Totally hear you about the value of routine and time alone too. X
Ahw I love that, the problem is I can only do that in Japan because it is so quiet here haha. Most places in the states and Europe are always so loud and noisy
@@SanneVloetSo, so true! Ha. Perhaps you could grab a coffee and sit outside… Please come to London! I think it would suit you and your husband very well. Thank you for your lovely reply!
Saki +Coffee that sounds interesting.. I really enjoyed this video… I turned “50” this year and self love is my driving force.. I just want to enjoy being comfortable with myself now… it took me a long time and a lot of disappointment to get here… Thank You so much for this video 💕
I love your visits to Japan and your coffee talks - I feel like the sake + iced latte is a bit equivalent to the espresso martini. I feel like alone time lets you reflect on the relationship and where it is and there isn't the noise of the other person's thoughts/comments. Allows you to focus on what's important - as long as there is a lot of communication, you will finally get to an end result - without it, the relationship and your wants and Max's will not be met equally. Even though I didn't grow up in Sri Lanka, I feel this yearning to go back and spend time with family and the scenery even if it's only in Colombo - the rest of the world moves at a slightly slower pace than the US and you feel it when you live there as well as the cultural shift.
I'm 44 Sanne and there's no much difference between how you feel and how i feel in my age..I guess it's just discovering US ourselves everyday ❤ send you lots of love❤❤
For skin trouble, I have same experience as yours. I found water hardness relates with this issue… Every time I travel to places having hard water, my skin condition gets worse.
Thank you for being so vulnerable! Yeah my husband also seems to sometimes love me more than I love myself. It’s maybe also being a European girl being raised in that kind of family. Definitely find a way that works for you. The US is very different in how people approach change & goals and I realized that even more moving back to Germany . Can’t wait to follow you along
Love the video and I feel the same way about having me time - I feel all introverts understand :) I am positive you guys will find the best solution and way that will work best for you two! Like you say when you have your inner values aligned the way shows...
Dear Sanna, i think you are 100% right. Japan is amazing for travel and fun. but also dont forget you give so much effort in your company. İ hope you two make the best decision ✨
I think the fact that your skin cleared up here is water. Water in Japan is softer than in LA. When I was in LA, the conditions of my skin and my hair were not good because of that
Darling Sanne, You are such a beautiful person! Your grace and growth are both admirable and inspiring. It’s a joy to watch your vlogs. Thank you for sharing with us! ❤
Skin bumps could possibly be due to water hardness (or lack of in Tokyo), the minerals (higher ppm) in the water clogging pores. Water there is generally up to 4x softer than many European cities and LA for example. Just a possibility.
@TinaFey-rt8ye Perhaps consider from this angle - We are often the harshest critics of ourselves. Learning to love and accept yourself exactly as you are, with all your unique quirks, qualities and rough edges, helps to develop that compassion for others (and all of their unique quirks, qualities and rough edges). When we project negativity towards someone, often it's a reflection of something we hold tension towards within ourselves. True self love can be REALLY challenging, especially if, like Sanne, you have years of conditioning being hard on yourself. But it's such an important foundation to build, to then be able to extend (love) out to others. Imagine if every individual out there causing harm to others really, TRULY, loved and accepted themselves... we'd be living in a different world. Hope there is something in there which resonates. All my positive energy to you! Have a beautiful day 🌸
I went to better help therapy on your recommendation. I was very unhappy with their service. My therapist kept canceling and was crazy. She liked to see me cry she would smile like a sadistic person. I ended up going to another service. You hav had better experience either way then, I definitely would not recommend them.
I feel like if you moved to Europe it is a better in-between Japan and the US. The flights wouldn't be as long. You still have your Joshua Tree property. Maybe moving there permanently would be much better for you guys for right now. Especially for this in-between stage before you have kids. It is such a huge decision. Moving from NY to LA was one thing, but moving to another country a big ordeal. Wherever makes you most happy.
Japanese water is mildly acidic because it's soft water. I don't know about the U.S., but in many parts of Europe, the water is hard, so it's slightly alkaline. Our skin and hair are slightly acidic, so washing them with soft water conditions both🫰🏻 I lived in Europe for over four years and had acne-prone skin there, so I switched to wiping my face with micellar water. In Japan, you can wash your hair every day, but washing my hair daily in Europe dried out my scalp and hair T^T
self-care depends on the diet your have too, and watching your content is a part of the most useful things i do for a really good and healthy mind routine
Thank you very much for sharing your thought with us. I enjoy your talk every time. Wherever you live, there are many people who want to help you live happy, of course in Japan, too. (I am sorry for my English. I am studying now.)
Really like this kind of talk. I feel that you are such a sincere person. Btw, I always like the earrings, rings and bracelets. If it's possible that you'll have a video about this section? Thank you. Really love your vlog. Love you❤
Hormones! Now I’m hitting perimenopause and looking in to I understand the function of hormones and what they do other than their reproductive function. It’s a whole new world and I wish I’d known about it in my 20’s and 30’s. They should teach it in schools.
Hi lovely. I think, you could do Japan for a few months or so. But if I was you I´d first move to Amsterdam and get settled there. And then from there you could maybe later do Japan for six months or so. Sorry if I am interferring but following you for so many years I do believe that you would be happier closer to home and family. Also there you can get your business grounded and settled so that it works both in Europe and USA, and then you can always do six months in Japan. And also your doggo will be happier I believe. xoxo Billie from Sweden. Btw.... I don´t know how to find whwn you sometimes have replied. :D xoxo from a SummerSweden
Thank you for your honesty and inspiring talks, Sanne. I know this "struggle" where to live so well. I remember we briefly talked about it at the Nekohama event in Amsterdam last year. I also still try to figure out where to live and "settle". Right now I'm in Mallorca and I''m excited where my life's journey will take me. My dream really is to have two homebases so my (future) partner and I do not have to choose for only one place. But of course, raising children is also another whole topic. :) So much to take into consideration.
I always kinda wondered about the statement you need to love yourself before you can really love anyone. But I get it now. I'm so,so happy you are claiming that for yourself. Look forward to your next talk✨

Love your talk and I have the same thing like you about the skin when going to different places. I notice it and figure out that it’s because of the weather and different humidity. That really affects my skin too.
I'm definitely want to go to the Coffee ☕ and Sake 🍶 shop in Japan soon. I recommend moving away from the USA because im moving to England next month because It's the right decision for me
About your skin situation, I think it’s something to do with water. I was born and raised in Tokyo but moved to California to go to college. Now I’m back but all my friends including myself used to say that skin and hair got better every time we came back to Japan during summer break etc. 😊
Loved your coffee chat Sanne :) I've also recently started leaning more into my feminine energy. Feeling much more balanced and clear minded. Wishing you all the best with your new chapters in life and business ♥ xx
Woohoo alone time! I’ve been checking in with myself since I was 18 years old. Or around there. It’s amazing and now that I’m 39. I think it’s kind of overrated for myself. As someone who has lived in Tokyo for more than 2 years, I DO NOT RECOMMEND MOVING HERE.
Do you mind sharing why? My family considering to move there from Singapore. I think living there for 5 -8 years would be a good change and experience.
If you already have a close community here, I think it is a good option to move here. But I am here alone for university and have no connections here. It is very hard to make real friends and form deep connections. The work culture is toxic and overworking is normal here. But if you already have a job then it’s not a problem. I feel very lonely and isolated every day even though I am surrounded by people. Of course this is only my experience and story.
