Hey, look! I'm in this video! I still do this build and it still works, even in master league, but currently I get an extra 50 gas for a stalker to get an extra unit in their base while warping in. It makes a huge difference.
@TZ96BassPlayer hold shift and right-click. Holding shift also allows you to queue up commands like building structures and sending probes to gather after warping in buildings.
this build is fantastic against bronze and silver players (maybe gold) players at that level won't be able to react or build a counter because they simply don't know a huge amount of strategies. this can potentially work against a fast expanding Zerg, depending on spawning pool timing and probe micro
This strategy still works, but as noted at the end of the match, the Korean 4 gate zealot rush is negated by the same build, or a 2 gate build (where units produced can destroy the proxy pylons), and I've found 2x well positioned cannons to protect the mineral line. If you scout the previously noted counter(s) before dropping your pylons in his base, drop a second gas assimilator and saturate your existing one to accumulate gas, and continue as a standard 4 gate defense or push (zealot heavy).
@ueXia the normal gateway zealot production time was increased but the warpgate cooldown is the same for all units, so if you're against protoss this still can work since he can only warp in stalkers as fast as you can zealots, plus your early advantage of this build
@MrHav1k You can do it if you make pylon at 8 and gateway at 8 then get 4 more probes with 1 chrono get gas and make sure you get a cyber as soon as the gateway completes. gather 50 gas then put all workers on minerals. research warpgate chronoboost it all the time. if you do it right your done around 4:45
While 4-gate is still strong, it's much more risky to do this in HoTS, due to the adittion of the MS core that can defend well and is usually standard to have in protoss compositions. Also if you fail to significantly damage their economy, they will just go for a stargate and drop an oracle at your mineral line.
this still works today but keep in mind alot of people go 3 stalker rush so what i like to do is set 1 of each zealot on each stalker so he has 2 micro like crazy and then use other 2 to focus fire probes, then i repeat that with next and next warp ins and usaly works quite well since most people not that good at micro^^espcially at lower level. (im high master almost GM btw)
@arkaros0 Well, he made 3-4 pylons, so it would take some time for the probes to kill all of the pylons. Also, while they are killing pylons, they aren't gathering minerals :).
@3xuro I don't think it's that cheesy. It's a fast win strategy. It's more like a huge investment, not really all in, and if it doesn't work, you actually still have a 4 gates. It may be a bit cheesy, depending on how you see it, but still more elegant than a proxy gates or proxy barrack into reapers, a 6pool, a bunker marines rush, etc... I think this build is very clever compared those. btw, I also hate cheese, but it's part of the game, so much that one should know how to do or conter it.
What is the command issued at 1:15? I like this strategy but every time I attempt it, my proxy probe is killed. This information would be greatly appreciated in detail ASAP. Great videos force!
@AkiratheWhite when I perform this tact, I have 24 workers, no zealot out, and pylon at enemy base (or near) within 5.10 min(about 30-40 sec ahead those who go for 4 gate). Even if they get 4gate just fast as me, they wont be able to pump 4 stalkers right away, giving my zealots number advantage and as they micro, I will still able to take out their workers. And when its about early defence: you should scout 24/7 while u work on this tact, make sure they dont push out earlier than u. thats it :)

i always do it like this 8 pylon chrono 2 workers 10 gate way 12 gass cyber as soon as i can i always finish my wargate when enemy is still on 50% of his warpgate you can also put 2 or 3 pylons near his ramp if he is blocking it off so you can warp up the ramp when your zealots attack it
lol I got owned. That happened to me twice that day and I decided to find a way to defend it without having to 4 gate. You have to scout it. Its really easy to scout early in PvP and if you see that they took probes off gas you know its comming. Put down 3 additional warpgates (3 warpgates) and start pumping out mass zealots with chronosboost. Theres probably a better way but this has worked for me 9/10 times

@con1211 Defensive cannons set you back at least 300 minerals and they are almost always a bad idea. It might buy you time, but your opponent will almost always have a larger army and spending 300 that early gives your opponent the opportunity to expand.
Only problem here I guess is maintaining that probe alive. I imagine this would be near impossible to do with a walled-off Terran. Pylon placement also difficult to do with creep-spreading Zergs.
btw you didnt say about the chrono boost you use 2 chrono boost on nexus rest on warpgate tech, and also you dont have the second pylon in your base in the build order in the desprection to those weho duno the second pylon in base is at 16 suply :)
What if the oppoent get an early stalker to kill the scout? Im gold and usually my probe got killed really fast since they might draw 2-3 workers to kill it even i micro.
@iamstoned4life terrans will have a few marines by the time this is set up i beleive, so they can take out the zealots faster than a 4gate toss player could, youd have to time this good to beat any decent tarren i think.
2gate no longer counters this as well as previously due to the increased Zealot production time (sans Warp technology). The latest balance patch just made 4gate cheese even more viable in PvP.
Even though your comment was posted 7 months ago, I can tell you that this strat actuallt STILL works in gold, 90 % succesfull actually. But I can't speak for the higher leagues...
Anyone know a way to beat a terran ball pressure at 8-9min? i cannot seem to find a build to beat it... if i rush templar, they rush me at like 5 min and im dead. if i dont rush templar, they come at 8-9 min and i cant hold off the ball... ideas? do you guys know any sweet videos that would help?
took me 20 losses more or less but i found a way , you build 9depo , 11 , 2rax 1scv , 12 1rax , 1 marine ,orbital , 2 marines 18depo and get 9 to 13 marines before 5 mins and attack him he will have 2 units up zealot and 1 stalker atleast , kill his cybernetics core then his probes , GG next game its efective ^^
@kelvinROCKSyoSOCKS doesn't matter. just keep the probe alive long enough to lay down the pylons. Only stalkers could be an issue but if you do it like you're suppose to and they go standard opening then it should play out just like the video regardless of if they follow your probe.

@MrHav1k yes .. when the strategy was resealed, the warp gate requires less time. After, the protoss were nerfed and now requires more tine :)

yes actually it does work occasionally because i just watch elfi win an ipl team arena challange with it which is why im here!

@isolin I believe they changed it again. It's actually 20 seconds longer. I could be wrong though
@mokatha That means how many workers you have at that time = make workers up to 10, then a pylon, then a gateway.
This is fucking sick, I've been abusing the Hell out of it. Almost ten straight wins from it (I'm only in Gold so that's not too amazing). Thanks man!
this is the reason i always have 2 gates producing zeals, it helps counter other 2 gates, this build, and alot haha

So this is PvP only? Zergs will have Overlords to scout near pylons and Lings to prevent them from finishing. Terrans will have a wall-in.

@pianopro9 If u watch a replay, any worker is presented as a SCV. I don't know why, Blizzard just made it that way :P

K4G isn't a cheese. It's not even an all-in. Depending on how TERRIBLE your attack was, you can actually recover and win.

My probe keeps getting killed when i try this. Even when i shift click him all around their base like in this video. What gives?
this doesnt work as well if they go zealot first then stalker. In this replay, they went stalker first and obviously thats what allowed it to work.
Four gate is not a cheese it's a strategy and one of two of early timing pushes

Don't try it in league higher than North-American Gold. The warp gate time is 1 min more than at this time.

no it isn't. i use this all the time and the only times it doesn't work is the odd occasion my opponent finds my hidden probe
If he would have pulled probes off to kill the pylons quicker wouldn't that be quite effective
