Yes the Vectra driver in the clip was moronic. As for "stopping half way into a turn" being just as bad - it's sometimes completely necessary and unavoidable. Pedestrians can walk into the road, the way forward can be narrow and blocked by a car coming out etc etc. You can't mow people down just to avoid inconveniencing the driver behind. Following a car that's turning off the road you need to be prepared for them to stop half way in for those reasons.
@@itchyscratch3829 I agree (just most of the time it's unnecessary like actually letting someone cross even thought they haven't stepped off the kerb or make the turn to wide so can't finish the turn)
The driver was flexing his virtue muscles. It's a phrase I've coined to describe this situation where some bozo takes it upon himself to pointlessly (and in this case, to the detriment of the cars behind him) give way out of some malformed notion of courtesy. I find it amusing that he ended up continuing his left turn after the cars had overtaken... I suppose the flexing of virtue muscles is best appreciated by an unwilling audience?
i never understand these guys “oh i’m in a rush go go g... that person beeped at me? well lets slam these brakes and stop for a few moments as i now have all the time in the world”
This is why you never beep in anger at people, ideally only beep if there is something about to happen e.g. a car going towards you, not after. Far too many people these days will brake check if you beep
Yup, particularly when he sees how many cars do it and the fact that 71% of all people killed or seriously injured as a result of a road user jumping a red light are hit by cars
And yet, if they hadn't been gunning it at 60 as they approached a 40 they could have avoided any damage to their car from having to go up the kerb at speed - 40mph limit sign is where you should already be doing 40mph not when you think about slowing down
@@Gobtik They were probably not in a 40 zone. I don't see that slowing from 60 to 40 over that distance remaining would be that dramatic - your point seems pedantic, it was unrelated to what the other car did, no one can think he thought the speed limit on the other side of the road made what he did safe. On top of that, the 40 sign was not very visible, other signs were in front of it - you've got to see the thing first.
@Ben T. almost 50? He was doing 56 when he approached the bend. His Speedo was probably reading 60. Save that speed for wide straight A roads not narrow lanes going through villages. Biggest bell end in a while.

That guy in Masood's clip gets angry at him for slowing down to let the bus through, overtakes him like a nobhead, then does the same thing for another bus!
That was definitely on purpose to "show him" how "infuriating" it is. Probably somewhere with a regular bus route with no bus lanes. Fortunately not everyone's a psycho.
Well it does, because these little cockheads jump lights and hop onto pavements to avoid sitting at a traffic stop, ride like absolute bellends and then cry about their safety. If someone would have hit that cyclist running a red, they would have been charged over it.
@@Mattycold01 yeah? How many motoring convictions have happened in the last 10 years between car and bike? How many of those were deemed the cyclists fault? Are you telling me that every single cyclist rides without incident or accident? Doesnt make a single mistake? Cos thats bullshit, and we know it. Not to mention the absolute millions of pounds in settlement money for cyclists who get railrodded by a motorist opening their door on them. As drivers, we are blamed if we do not anticipate other drivers actions..well, when a car fucking pulls up the next logical thing is them opening their door and getting out. Then there's the zebra crossings where they zoom by, speed cameras holding cars to 20mph and bikes just flying through at god knows what speed. Poor anticipation and reaction on their part, poor driving from the oncoming driver who just followed the first car through like a lemming, but Ethan is the one with the possibly damaged wheel from smacking up the kerb like that
I'm quite impressed with some of the driving on this video. Unlike in most of the "bad driving" videos here where the people make a big thing of keeping their hand on the horn for 10 seconds and braking at the last minute, some of the drivers here had quick wits and avoided the oncoming cars by keeping their cool and steering to the side.
Yeah, I was worried initially (around the time of the horn beep) that they were going to drive on, glad they actually stopped and full kudos for doing so.
Tom W, not entirely sure the other bloke was the idiot overtaking on a corner, you after all are doing almost 60 in a 40mph zone and tearing around the same corner.
I sort of agree with you that it is idiotic driving that fast around a blind bend doing that speed, but looking at Google Earth, it isn't a 40 limit there, but national speed limit. Person overtaking was also an idiot!
Tim D while I agree on google earth the national speed limit is applied here I can only assume it has not been updated because on the video the word ‘SLOW’ is painted on the road and just after on the left is a red 30 mph speed limit sign. There is also a news article explaining why these new speed limits were brought in due to there being a school on this lane. The speed limit on this stretch of road has been changed and not updated on google earth, the limit on this stretch of road is now 30 and he was driving at almost double the speed limit.
Ambulances are the one emergency vehicle I always make way for. The blues will usually catch your eye from quite far back in a commercial vehicle and I immediately start thinking of the best way to get them through in London's constant traffic. To me, that's somebody's loved one who could die because of the extra few seconds I held up their ambulance and it's really annoying when there's one person who decides to use it as an opportunity to get a couple of metres further and ends up blocking the ambulance. It makes me want to make them an extra patient for you guys to work on while you're stuck behind them.
@@Michelle_Schu-blacka You're a commercial driver, I'd expect you to get it. In fairness, most professional drivers are good at getting us through. Though with London, if I have to do a run to a hospital in the centre, my driving is a lot more aggressive than my usual home counties patch.
@RandomShart it's a tricky one, we don't want people doing illegal stuff, or making risky maneuvers to ease our passage (stopping on bends or hill brows is a classic). Normally we'll find a way around stationary or slow traffic. It's getting past moving traffic that's the problem, a normal box back ambulance is plated at 5.5 tons, even if you've got a heavy right foot like mine, it's not the quickest vehicle off the mark. I would say though, if loads of traffic is stopping for no obvious reason, check your mirrors, the number of near misses we have from someone swerving out from behind a car in the camera cars position is ridiculous.

COLIN 4:44... so the guy on bike went through a red light and his actions after wasnt right. But at end looked like you tried running him off road. BUT funniest bit was you running after him,,, 🤣, Colin you failed haha. Made an arse of yourself 😅😅 Too funny.
2:56 that was really stupid stopping to give way to you risking to cause a crash from behind (that's as bad as stopping half way into a turn)
Yep, it's nice to be nice, but it's more important to be predictable.
Far too many people these days will brake check if you beep
i dont know why but i love it when i see somewhere i know on this channel
4:44 - Colin will be shocked if he ever goes for a drive around Central London
With a taser hopefully
Yup, particularly when he sees how many cars do it and the fact that 71% of all people killed or seriously injured as a result of a road user jumping a red light are hit by cars
very good reaction from chris & kathryn, it saved their lives in a very close and idiot call from the oncoming car
And yet, if they hadn't been gunning it at 60 as they approached a 40 they could have avoided any damage to their car from having to go up the kerb at speed - 40mph limit sign is where you should already be doing 40mph not when you think about slowing down
Ridiculous overtake one the crane. That could have been a nasty head on and jail time for the fiesta driver. Agreed very good reaction to avoid it
@@Gobtik They were probably not in a 40 zone.
Colin reminds me of the legendary video "Clown takes a pratfall"

Indeed, didn't have a happy childhood that one....
Why's Tom ws dash cam say he's doing 60 in what looks like a 30 mph road with slow written on it
It's national speed limit. I agree that he was going too fast for the bend.
It's actually now a 30 or 40 zone. You can see the speed limit sign at the end of the clip further down the road.:

2 blast your horn
3. Shout
4. Fiddle around with the dash cam
5. Scream your on camera about 100 times while pointing at camera
Haha. Correct - Most people with dash cams love agro!
1 should be 'Accelerate towards danger' and you should add 'and swear' to number 3 lol 😛

Well it does, because these little cockheads jump lights and hop onto pavements to avoid sitting at a traffic stop, ride like absolute bellends and then cry about their safety. If someone would have hit that cyclist running a red, they would have been charged over it.
- Jenner no they would, that’s complete nonsense.
If you use the road, you should abide by the laws of the road regardless. If the speed limit is 30mph, and these dickheads are riding 2 deep at 15mph best believe im tyre hogging beeping and spraying my windscreen washer all over them.

Oh Ethan you fanny. They had committed I know it’s annoying but you just have to wait
Calling her a stupid woman as he drives up a kerb damaging his tyres and wheels instead of stopping 🤣 Its really annoying but think both of them were stupid in this case
Yeah there was plenty of time to stop there, but the cammer didn’t even slow down as they approached the priority pinch point.

@@timd7476 Google maps is out of date. There's now a statutory speed limit of 40mph on that section. Some of it is also 30mph.

3:50 is one of my pet hates in an ambulance. Narrowing the gaps because you're allergic to using the middle pedal is just ballache for us.
@@crabfucka6302 That's when you hope for the police car. If they're tailgating so close they can't see it, they're an easy stop.
@@Michelle_Schu-blacka oh well I hope you don't find yourself trapped in a fire or needing the aid of The Police - I guess you must be more important than a kid stuck in a fire or being harmesd by somebody - you should make way for any siren vehicle
