    Good job on the water heater! I couldn't tell if the timber you laid on the ground is pressure treated, but if not, it will rot very quickly. You could also use a 12"x12" paver for each stringer.

    Julie use old pillow case to dust fan blades. Spray inside of case with a touch of end dust. Place over a blade and use both hands to clamp around blade and slide slowly off of blade. Repeat for each blade. Finally, turn inside out and shake dust off ( outside) and then wash pillow case for next use.....

    Good choice. I have installed hundreds of instantaniuos water heaters and a service flush once a year with a professional cleaner not vinager with keep you problem free for many years. I use to use a small drill pump from Amazon on my cordless drill with a plastic bucket and two laundry hoses. From experience I never liked using flex gas lines on LP. Propane is pumped many times with oil filled pumps and the gas carries small particles of that oil and it can collect in the ribs and dips of the lines. There should be a drip tee at each appliance to collect such oil. Bare minimum a drip tee at the reg entering the house to collect the oil. Also a three elbow swivel on the gas line where the reg enters the house in areas of ground freezing. The gas line can heave from frost and push that line up and break it off, a swivel prevents that.

    personally i would have went with a heat pump tank water heater, they are low power and can be ran off grid
    then automate it to only run during the solar production

      plus you have propane inside your house so many issues would worry about gas leaks explosions poising by gas bad idea Heat pump as above on solar

    Most homes need a sediment trap on the gas supply line feeding the water heater and furnace (sideways T with the supply coming in the side, water heater on the top and a small capped section going down)

    Dang! Seth looks like he's about to start growing a beard! Look out Marty! :) One thing I would suggest you go back and do is put in a union on each of those pipes, that way you can mount and dismount with ease. Just a suggestion. My favorite YT family by far! One additional suggestion, and I know it sucks, but please put a water softener in front of that instant hot water heater. I've serviced these for over 10 years and scale is no joke. Even a small 6-10 cu. ft. softener will do the job and will give you many more years of service from your water heater.

    Retired master plumber,from Texas, nothing wrong with running gas flex, but I prefer running black iron pipe through the attic, and my down drops, and flex pipe on fixtures, ,also should run a drip leg,- tee standing up, going to each fixture, on l.p. to help catch moister, and any trash in the lines,, so as not to clog up fixtures, and really should test system with about 5 lbs. Air pressure, for your leak test, but good job

    @timf6916 Рік тому

    Wow, you got it down.

  • @straight_to_finish
    @straight_to_finish Рік тому

    Looks good, except you technically need a drip leg on the gas connection (where you found the leak). Use a tee connection, run your flex pipe in on the horizontal connection, and the drip pipe in the bottom vertical connection. Google gas supply “drip leg”.

    have had my tankless for 8 years now! works great! natural gas version! I also have well water with 4 stage filter and so far I have done a cleaning every year for an hour cycle using white vinegar and it still heats to >120 in about 30 seconds. Reem says twice a year for hard water and maybe I should but so far its been fine though I have been replacing the filter twice a year

    Marty, have you set your winter angle solar panels to summer yet? Also your smoke alarm is too close in your kitchen. False alarms. Should be 10' away horizontally if I remember right. There is a sheet in the box that tells you where to install them.

    So when I asked a plumber to install a on demand water heater, he would only sell and install a gas water heater. He said in wyoming, the water temp coming out of the pipes to be heated is so cold that takes forever to get warm water. It never really gets hot in the winter, customers totally unhappy, so they don't carry them.
