Their English pronunciation was not as good as the recent tracks back then so some bars go unnoticed :) I love this track. They blew up with this one.

All their official songs are all in English, but these tapes are in English, Japanese, and a little bit of Korean. They all pronounced their name early in each part so you can pronounce them. FYI only Maya is fully fluent in English because she went to an "international" school in Japan (for kids of foreigners and Japanese parents who want their kids to learn English). The rest learn their parts in English but can't really hold a conversation though they do understand and can speak a little bit.

Harvey was the one in white space suit and on black Wolf float. Jurin started off rapping in the beginning and rapline, find me in Tokyo rappin in a skirt.
XG are very skilled and talented! If you check out their other tapes 3 and 4 you will see for yourself. Their vibe is like very y2k and classic beats. And they execute them all amazingly! They speak 3 different languages in these (English, Korean and Japanese) they are the rappers of the group and the 3 other members are the vocalists which also have videos that show their vocal gift. If you react to their songs, check out left right, very r&b and so so good! XG doesn’t disappoint 😊

They are not Kpop. Kpop don't be rapping like that, and doing freestyles and cyphers. This is real RAP and Hip-Hop and that's what XG do when it comes to it, and perfected. They know the Hip-Hiop history very well. Not that fake gimmick Kpop rap, rapping about nothing.

Few kpop rappers do real hip-hop and cyphers like BTS and Stray kids and Zico so don't generalize the entire industry .
It's insane that they're not a kpop group but they're trained like one and promoted like one and perform on stages that only kpop groups perform at . And use the Korean language in their songs apparently. Doesn't that make them a mix between kpop and jpop then ?

I can relate to Venn I have the same ranking.
Cocona's part may not be so surprising after you heard Woke Up first and know what she's like. But back then it was really shocking to hear a 15 yr old Japanese girl in an A-pop group to rap like that, and she did what she said "Let me claim my throne real quick". C to the O C O N A is also her watermark now, also appeared in Woke Up.
Maya in my opinion is technical wise the best one, you unintentionally hold your breath until she finishes her sentence. She also speaks the best English in the group.
Harvey has her unique voice like no one else. She didn't demonstrate as much techinique in this one so back then there were more haters. In their latest tape #4 she fought back hard, must listen to that one it is fire.
Jurin is my bias in the group, she just has that charisma. She is the dance leader in the group but I feel she's not just a dancer or a rapper, but a performer. Her look her voice her moves and her attitude mix so well that you cannot just take out one single element and say that's what attracts you. It's the way you feel when she does her thing.
Strongly recommend to listen to some of their other songs to have the full experience with XG. Each song is a different genre and even if you don't usually enjoy that genre, XG never disappoints.
